Met some fantastic people, a special mention goes to Millie who came to my talk, and wanted to ask about the show and Jimmy the penguin, who sadly couldn’t make it up to Glasgow with me.

Exciting News!

Annabel’s classic children’s meals are available in 120 British Home Stores (BHS) restaurants! These healthy meals are a great way to refuel your little ones during a busy day of shopping.

Head down to your nearest BHS today and sample these nutritious and delicious meals. They include Annabel’s healthy beefburgers, chicken nuggets, fish and chips, chicken tikka, pasta cheese and broccoli, sausages and spaghetti bolognese! All the meals are freshly cooked in BHS kitchens to order.

Annabel needs some Taste Testers!

Would you like to be a taste tester for Annabel Karmel? We are looking for 30 families, in the UK, with children between the ages of 4 & 10 yrs old, to take part in our new Easy Peasy Meal Kit taste test.

You would be supplied with everything you need to make a family meal using Annabel’s new Easy Peasy Meal Kit. Each kit contains the fresh, ready-prepared vegetables and pre-mixed sauces you need to make a yummy family meal. Each one will make enough for 4 children’s portions (extra portions can be frozen) or a meal for 2 adults and 2 children AND each portion will contain one of your five a day!

Every household taking part will receive two meal kits one Traditional and one Ethnic, and any other essential ingredients required. All you have to do is tell us what you would like to make with them…

The choices for the Traditional kit are:

• Fish Pie
• Chicken and Potato Pie
• Shepherd’s Pie

The choices for the Ethnic kit are:

• Sweet and Sour Chicken
• Chicken Korma Curry

We then want to know your feedback, how it was to cook, how it tasted etc.

Annabel Karmel is searching for models to be on her ready meal packaging

Annabel Karmel is searching for children to feature on the front of her ready meal packaging. Already an established and popular product, sold in supermarkets nationwide, the ready meals are now being re-launched with revised recipes and new packaging.

Each different meal will feature an image of a child eating the food on the front. We are looking for children between 2 & 4. They must have an expressive face, look happy and healthy, and be willing to eat in front of camera!

If you are interested you need to be aware th­­at you will need to obtain a license from your LEA and attend a two hour slot at a photography studio in Chippenham, Wiltshire, which would take place in the week beginning 26^th March. Reasonable travel costs would be reimbursed.

Today we are celebrating  International Women’s Day in the office! No, that doesn’t mean you get to take it easy and put your feet up. International Women’s Day marks a time to show respect, appreciation and love towards women as it is a celebration of women’s economic, political and social achievements. Something we feel pretty strongly about here!

Leeds University Business School celebrated the occasion by asking Annabel, along with three other leading business women, to share their experience in industry with the university students’ hoping to achieve similar success.

This article featured in stylist magazine and covered a range of different topics. Great News!

Annabel and Disney have expanded their line of fun and healthy snacks! The snack range, suitable for children over the age of 12 months, has 4 new delicious additions. These additions include Chicken & Vegetable Rice Cake with Omega 3 and the first breakfast biscuit to enter the category,  Porridge & Apple biscuit bakes’ with Vitamin B1. These will be available nationwide at Asda with other supermarkets coming soon!

The mouth-watering range of sweet and savoury snacks are free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives and have been specially designed to create wholesome but fun snacks for children aged 12 months plus. All products comply with The Walt Disney Company’s strict nutritional guidelines. These guidelines are in line with World Health Organisation criteria that were introduced as part of the company’s commitment to developing healthier foods for children. The guidelines control calories, fat, saturated fat, sodium and sugar, and eliminate trans fats altogether.

Annabel appears on Day Break

The AK team were excited this morning because Annabel appeared on Day Break! She was there to address the fact that a growing number of women are finding it difficult to find full time work, especially to fit around having a family. One dedicated member of the team was up at the crack of dawn to watch this in the comfort of her own living room, only to find out that Annabel had been moved to an earlier slot, rather Annabel than us, having to get up at 5am this morning!

Annabel was delighted to be asked to talk about this topic as it’s really hard for women to be able to find a job that fits around their family life, especially if they have young kids.  Annabel was fortunate to be able to work from home when her children were young, but not everyone can do that, and the issues surrounding women in the work place need to be highlighted.

The AK team has a pretty strong contingent of women, both full-time and part-time, thank you to Annabel for mentioning us all on the show!!

Annabel teams up with Patsy Palmer to launch Yummy Mummy week!

Pasty Palmer and I helped host an event to launch Yummy Mummy Week 2012 on Friday and I have just got the photo’s back!

The event is in support of CLIC Sargent, theUK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, the series of events areto encourage mums to do something ‘Yummy’ to raise money for this amazing  charity.

Yummy Mummy week takes place on the 10^th of March and run through to Mothers Day which is the 18^th. It’s a week for mums to hold exciting fund raising events and to enjoy with their children, families and friends.

We held a tea party to launch the event for 5 lovely mums, whose children are currently receiving treatment. I made some of my favourite animal cupcakes and we had a good natter over a cup of tea or two.  It was a great afternoon and I am very proud to be getting involved with this charity, keep posted to see what else we get up to in the coming months…

Healthy New Years!

Happy New Year everyone!

Out with the old and in with the new… year.  I’m usually terrible at sticking to my new years resolutions but this year I plan to change that. You could say that one of my new years resolutions is to keep my new years resolution, we will see how that goes!

We had a wonderful festive period and we hope you did too! We’re back in the office this week despite the odd weather conditions 2012 has brought us. So far it looks like umbrellas at the ready and wind breaks all round!

As we enter the new year why not try some of my favourite classics… with a healthier twist!
