“Currently, the airline’s only route to be operated with multiple daily flights is between Moscow and St Petersburg” – not true. Rostov-on-Don (Rostov-na-Donu) had 2 daily flights from Moscow at the time of publication, and now has 16 weekly.

If Ryanair flys to Turkey (especially Izmir) I for one would be absolutely delighted. They wouldn’t regret it as there are SO many Irish coming here now for holidays as the € is so good against the Turkish Lira.

I travel from Izmir to Ireland regularly and have to use Turkish Airlines.

The LET L-410 is a wonderful little workhorse and surprisingly comfortable even if its safety record isn’t brilliant. Had the pleasure to fly on one (and surviving) operated by Cabo Verde Express a few years ago. It is still widely in use in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Indian Airlines is in fact a separate airline. The merger with Air India is not yet completed.

Why oh why are non of the low cost carriers not flying LGW/LHR to Plovdiv.

Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and recently extended its airport by building a lovely new terminal It has also got very low landing and ground fees and excellent access to road and rail

Indeed, you are right. Delta no longer operates any intra-European flights.

In this analysis, we have looked at airlines’ total traffic at European airports, both intra- and extra-European, which is why Delta almost made it to the list with its considerable transatlantic (and to some extent Asian) capacity at European airports.

Strange that someone has added it to Wikipedia (Heathrow airport, BA and Kumasi airport pages) with a start date of October 31st. I imagined it was almost impossible however that this was correct. Would be a very unusual route!

We very much doubt that is the case. As far as we are aware, no such announcement has been made and it does not appear in OAG.

In comparison to May 2010 June is even more pleasant month with +25% increase over 4.730.000 pax at Riga International in Latvia.

I see that Qatar Airways has just announced plans to start serving Bucharest, Budapest, Brussels and Nice in Europe, and Hanoi and Phuket in Asia with routes starting between October 2010 and January 2011. Isn’t it about time that Etihad accounced some new route?

I would be shocked if Glasgow-Barcelona was a bigger market. Edinburgh-Barcelona should be a good two-way market, whereas Glasgow-Barcelona is less so. Despite Glasgow’s many tourist atrractions, they are not as well known internationally as those in Edinburgh.

Three airlines is probably overkill on Edinburgh-Barcelona, and the lack of Barcelona service from Glasgow is a major gap in Glasgow’s destination list, but I would still strongly suspect that Edinburgh-Barcelona is a larger market.

sometimes the Riga International airport management make strange decisions. Despite 16% growth in April they allegedly hesitate an offer from Dr Temel Kotil Turkish Airlines to increase weekly flight frequency from Baltic and improve the flight connections to middle east Istanbul, Antalya, Beirut, Dubai and fare east destinations Hong Kong, Bangkok, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur etc. which are popular tourist destinations from Baltic.

Three airlines on edinburgh to Barcelona, a relatively small market, while Glasgow to Barcelona, a far bigger market goes completely un-served.
