I love this family. I met Brandi and Daniel when they chose me as their wedding photographer. We did an engagement shoot together, Brandi’s Bridals and then their wedding. Their son was born last year and they asked me to photograph his newborn session. It is now a year later and they have developed into the sweetest little family. Also, if you need any outfit inspiration for your upcoming session, these guys nailed it. Not matchy, just nicely coordinated. Perfect!

And, being cute and sleepy is her game. So, we got the kids (and me) a puppy for Christmas. It’s been my lifelong dream – to get a puppy for Christmas. Funny thing is…a few weeks ago I said to Bill, “wouldn’t it be awesome to get the kids a puppy for Christmas?” He said, “yeah, right. In your dreams.” Ok, he didn’t really say that, but that’s what I interpreted from the look he gave me. He’s a cat person.

Flash forward to that very afternoon, my uncle Tony texted me and said his neighbor’s Border Collies had just had puppies and they MIGHT be ready to go to their homes by Christmas. And, Tony had been planning to come visit with us for Christmas. “What!!!?” I said. Well, I had to be talked down from two puppies to one and we told Tony to pick one out for us and he picked the best one. Now, let it be known, I’m all for a rescue dog and we’ve tried it twice. Long story short, we decided to get a puppy with the thought that whatever behavior problems she ends up with (if any) would be our fault and we would know her history. But, she won’t have problems cuz we are awesome. So, it’s harder, yes. She is NOT housebroken. She does NOT sleep at night and she has yet to learn what not to bite. However, she seems to have a very calm and bright spirit and seems to want to fit in with us and we are very happy with her. Liam is not thrilled with her because she gets her needle teeth caught in his socks. Evie loves her, but equally loves her video games. Maddi could not have been more excited about getting a puppy for Christmas. She’s eleven. A puppy…come on. She really wanted a lizard, but I think this trumps it. Taken in our front yard right after a rain. It’s horrible because everything is dead and there are brown leaves dotting the green grass. However, it was the ONLY time I could get us all together and somewhat happy in time to create and send out our Christmas cards. Enjoy! Oh, and try not to notice the 80′s era paintjob on the house. We haven’t had time to repaint since moving in. Just look at our pretty faces. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I love it when my clients become my friends. I loved this wedding. It was straight out of a movie set in 1940. Curvy car, bright red flowers, an 18 piece big band, pin curls and dapper dudes. It was the first weekend of rain we had seen in Texas in months. Lo and behold it did not rain on their wedding day (most of the festivities took place outdoors). The temperature was just so, the music was dancy and the mood was lovey. It was a good time to be sure.

Oh, and two days after the wedding, Bill and I came home to a huge box on our porch. What was inside? Why, a surprise gift from our friends. They had a vintage suitcase and cameras on their guest table. I collect vintage cameras, by the way. My husband has a tattoo of me holding one. I love my job.

We love you guys. Thanks for being genuine sweethearts and having us along for the party. Can’t wait to hang out again.

So, I was minding my own business one day when this handsome little dude came into my life. After pestering him with some camera snapping and racing with him up and down hills, he said he wanted to hug me. Melt. Have a happy birthday next month, little guy!
