While I’m right here waiting for our princess’ grand entrance, the newlyweds in the other side of the house is now expecting their very first baby. Congratulations to my sister Carol and her hubby Fread who’s gonna welcome their little one in August this year! It looks like our house is going to be more crowded than before.

That’s me and my sister Carol. Still don’t look chubby here yet because this photo is snapped a couple of years ago. Aha I know, buyuk kan pakai gambar lama. But I loike this pic of us so much.

Today is supposed to be my due. Besides the mucus discharge, I didn’t experience any other things (like blood discharge, broken water bag, etc) but the nonrhythmic contraction. But still, the contraction I felt was still bearable.

Harry’s brother and sister stopped by at our house earlier yesterday before they went back to Keningau to celebrate CNY with the rest of Harry’s family. It feels so awkward to wave them goodbye because we supposed to travel back home together. But before they left, my SIL handed me these cute baby stuff she bought recently:

Another pinkie stuff for our princess! All her aunties from both sides love her so much, kan? Thanks Mell for all these cuties!

Oh, one more thing to share with you guys. I bought a large sized changing rubber mat to put on the baby’s mattress as a protection so that in case her pee or poo leaks, or if she throws up, I don’t have to wash the mattress sheet. Murah saja kos dia if compared to buying a baby’s mattress protector or topper. And to cover the rubber mat, I put two pieces of Teddy printed receiving blankets on top of it. If she messes her bed, I only have to remove the blankets and wash it.

Okey darlings. It’s 3 in the morning and I have to go to bed already. Been sleeping the whole day bah. Itu la lambat mengantuk. Till my next post yah!

When I woke up around 9 this morning, I did my normal routine; went to pee, brush my teeth and wash my face. Just after I get myself cleaned, I noticed ‘something’ went out from Miss V. I quickly checked my panty and I saw this thick, white yellowish mucus on it. So I rang Harry (who was at the office when it happened) and let him know about the mucus thingie. Then I called mummy and her suggestion was to go to the hospital a.s.a.p.

I called Harry back and I asked him to ring RMC (where I’m planning to give birth). He said okay and 5 minutes later, he rang me back. I know he was really nervous at the moment because he rang Dr. Bernardine Clinic instead (it’s where I had my antenatal check up) and asked them what to do. Haha! When he’s nervous, he’ll think too much and don’t pay attention to what people say. Only after I repeatedly said “wuii call RMC bah, not Klinik Dr. Bernardine!” then he got his logic thinking back and help me to alert RMC. Punyalah.

So he returned home to fetch me to RMC. Sempat pigi makan lagi nih sebelum pigi sana because I was already too hungry. After had our breakfast cum lunch, he drove us there. Because of the severe traffic jams around the city, we only managed to arrive at 12.20 noon and checked in.

And what happened at RMC?

Besides asking me questions, the nurse examined Miss V and said there was no opening yet. She said it’s just the mucus, so I was referred to my doctor to do the scan. The doc confirmed that it’s not labor and asked me to come back again to do the CTG a day after my EDD. Good news, he said this will be a dragon baby as our princess is still not in the right position for birth. Hehe!

So that’s the mucus plug. I think that’s the mucus that just went out from Miss V earlier. Was thinking of sharing the pic here but it’s surely the grossest thing to do. Haha!

And to share something from the scan today ..

.. forgot to ask the doctor what’s in the pic. But I think I saw someone’s face. Hee! Can you see what I see?

So after I had my normal antenatal check up with him, we headed home. Phew! What a false alarm. What happened today really made both of us nervous. Luckily my BP didn’t jump high again this time. It’s good to be back and can have my total rest at home again. While everyone is busy preparing to celebrate CNY at home, it looks like we’re gonna celebrate the year of the dragon in the ward this time. Haha!

.. am still heavily pregnant and is entering the final week of my pregnancy. Hee! Macamana, bikin suspense ka? Siou kalau saya telah membikin kamurang besar mata sebentar yaa.

And to update about my current condition, well .. one of the highlights now is I’m not as much in love with food anymore. I mean, I don’t eat as much as I did before. As I took an advanced maternity leave and I spent my most time at home, besides doing light chores, I love spending my time having my naps. What a bliss!

In this last few days before the born day, I kept on re-checking the three hospital bags I’m planning to tag along with us later. Especially the mummy’s bag (or OUR bag, yeah I stuff Harry’s clothes inside too) because some of our things I’m planning to bring are the ones we use on daily basis like shirts, lil’ panties, toiletries, stuff like that.

Remember I once blogged about the baby’s checklist? That was my simplified baby checklist version. Wanna see the full checlist version?

Too much or ngam-ngam for the baby’s clothes? Credits to the advanced gifts for contributing the amounts of most items here.

If you notice, I didn’t put shampoo in the list. Harry has also been asking why it’s excluded. Wanna know why? Hee. Simply because #1 what if our princess will be ‘hairless’ when she’s born? and #2 because mummy said I can use the soap bar to wash from head-to-toe. But sooner, I’ll buy it juga.

If the baby crib can support up to 70kg, I’m sure I’ll gonna be the one to ‘officiate’ the crib before the real owner comes. Haha!

I chose Sebamed and Johnson’s. I’ve been using these brand since Michelle was a baby and I know I can trust them.

Only stroller, car seat and baby carrier are left ‘unchecked’. We’re gonna get them right after our princess is born, hopefully by next month.

Just in case, if the milk don’t come out, the formula milk will be another option for us. Why S-26? Because it was Michelle’s formula milk brand from birth (I don’t BF during her time) until toddler. Even though it’s quite pricey but it worth the money.

There are lots and lots of newborn checklist you can find online nowadays. I’ve found good ones but I decided to cut down a few items from the list because I don’t think I’ll be needing everything to welcome a baby. Even though there were a lot of cute baby stuff offered everywhere, but it doesn’t mean that I have to buy them all kan?

And of course I didn’t buy all these stuff at once. I bought little by little each month so we will not end up broke by the end of the month. I bought some from my fave online shops and some, especially the large items, from the shopping malls around the city.

He said, if today’s BP reading gets back to normal, then I’ll be seeing him again for my weekly antenatal checkup on next Friday. If I haven’t give birth yet lah.

But if my BP reading is still high, I should have it checked again next Monday. Then, the following Wednesday. If the reading is still high, I should be induced (if the labor process doesn’t come naturally). It really freaked me out when he said that!

Like the doc suggested, I went to the clinic again this morning to get my BP checked. Luckily, the reading gets back to normal. Fuh! Thank God.

Yaa, this week marks my 39th week of pregnancy. About one more week to go before she makes her way out!

If any of you wonders about my final preparation before the born day, well here they are.

• Three hospital bags containing #1 the baby’s clothes (enough for 2 days of usage), #2 baby’s newborn essentials, and #3 both Harry & I punya clothes and toiletries.

• The blue card (my clinic card) and IC are all ready inside my handbag.

• Digital camera fully charged and memory is emptied.

Nampaknya saya tinggal belinggang saja pigi hospital nih kan? Hehe. Experienced moms, did I miss anything important here? I’d love to know any suggestions from you about what to prepare / expect / do for the birth

Last thing to share before I end this post.

I’ve washed the bedding set and put them back on the crib. If you notice, I put a teddy because I think it looks cute in there. I just love anything in light brown & teddy for her bedding and stuff! And the mosquito net Harry just put on have successfully covered the cute sight of the baby’s crib. Apa-apa pun, Marble, mata kau juga la yang paling menang sana kan.

Until the end of school session last year, I was super confident that I can bet back to work as usual until birth. But when the school reopens last week, my condition proved me wrong. I really can’t stand to walk around the school compound and climb the stairs up to the 3rd floor. And now that I’m a toilet’s regular visitor, so I gave up waiting until the born day and go for the advanced maternity leave instead.

When I complained to Harry about my condition, the backache, cramps and stuff to get his sympathy, his simple reply was: “Told ya.” Yaaa. That helps me a lot.

So yeah, I’m officially on my maternity leave starting today. Since I woke up quite early this morning, it’s time to get my sleep payback. Toodles for now!

After months of consideration and baby crib talk with Harry, we finally agreed to have baby cot instead of playpen for our soon-to-come princess. These are the whys:

#1 – We don’t plan to sleep together with the little one on our bed every night.

I’m afraid if we move a lot during sleep, we will accidentally ‘bump’ on her. Plus, she can have all the space in her crib. If she’s sharing the bed with us, of course all of us will have limited space of our own.

#2 – Durable.

Sudah decide mau beli baby cot, alang-alang kasi tambah sikit tusin la untuk beli yang solid wood one bah kan. We found cots that can be used up till the baby is 2, and there are also adjustable cots that can be used up to 5 years. We opted for the longer used one.

#3 – It matches with most furniture in our room!

Wood, wood and wood everywhere! Except for our bed (it’s black leather), the rest of our furniture were dark brown varnished. I’m so loving the concept!

#4 – Like our bed, I can change the look of the baby cot anytime.

There are lots of baby bedding themes to choose at in store now. I can even make one or two bedding sets (kalau rajin la kan) for the baby cot. How’s that?

This is the best bedroom arrangement we can think of to squeeze the baby cot in. You can see where we locate the baby’s drawers in our room. Sempit kan? But well, ada alasan untuk ‘tepaluk’ laki kalau berlaku traffic jam di sana. Atau lagi siok, bejalan saja terus di atas katil untuk reach sana siring wardrobe bah. Haha!

This is the baby cot! This is taken right after Harry assembled it. It have 3 levels of adjustment. He set the highest one for the first few months and will be re-adjust as soon as our princess begins to roll. 

I’m so excited when it comes to the baby’s bedding set. I chose My Teddy Bear bedding theme by Bumble Bee.

With the last baby item finally here, I can now have my total relaxation over hunting for the baby stuff and needs. Shopping early for the baby stuff isn’t bad. At least when I’m already too tired to do the baby shopping, I’ve already have like 80% from my baby checklist. What a bliss!

That over-the-phone conversation happened yesterday, which reminds me how close I’m at with the due. Gosh! I’m about two or three weeks away from the EDD and I’m so nervous whenever I think of it. I prayed so much that I’ll be having a smooth, normal delivery and our princess will be just fine throughout the process. *crossfingers*

Let’s talk about how much weight I gain throughout the pregnancy. Since the weight is a sensitive issue for me, so I won’t be revealing my actual, numeric before-pregnancy weight.

Let’s just say I’m X kg before I got pregnant. Here’s the weight I gained according to the clinic’s record since I first went for my maternal visit.

Week 9 = +3kg
Week 14 = +1.2kg
Week 19 = +3kg
Week 23 = +2.3kg
Week 27 = +0.9kg
Week 31 = +1.1kg
Week 33 = 0kg
Week 35 = +1.6kg
Week 36 = +0.7kg
Week 37 = 0kg

Total = 13.8kg!

For me, that’s already a lot! Baby’s current weight is 2.89kg, so that means the 10.+kg is hiding somewhere inside me. I’m gonna rid those extra kg off me after the born day. Tingu laa! *tumbuk tapak tangan*

Talking about our princess, the doc said she is healthy and there are no problem regarding her growth at all. In fact, she (the doc) predicted our baby’s a brainy one because she began learning for ‘her journey out’ quite earlier than expected. I don’t know if she’s trying to calm me down about the early contraction & cramping I had. But if it’s true, I THANK GOD. That’s every parents’ wish.

Before it’s too late, let’s again talk about Christmas. I’m sure each of you out there who are celebrating it had blast ones. So did us. I mean, my whole beloved family. With everybody around, even a simple celebration can be a meaningful ones. Who’s with me?

Like I mentioned before, all of us agreed to dress in green for Christmas. So here’s one of the family portrait we took on Jesus’ birthday!Everyone were dressed in green except for mummy. Tim kai aah mameh?

Our Christmas? Well, like each year, our relatives visited our house right after everyone attended the Mass. Macam biasa la, ada makan-makan session, karaoke, wogok panggang, minum beer and so forth. This year, we asked for catering service from outside so that the girls in the family won’t end up facing our relatives with that oily and tired faces. So, on Christmas 2011, all of us really enjoyed our time to the fullest mixing around with the relatives (and me with my current hobby, evening nap -_- ugh!). We’re surely gonna do the same thing this year. Kurangkan masa di dapur, banyakkan masa bersosial di living room. How was that?

This is the first weekend of 2012. Hope you guys enjoy this precious two days break doing things you love to do!

Oh gosh. I have a lot of backdated stories to share with you guys but let me start with what we, the Sabahan lady bloggers, did recently. We were up to a Christmas gathering hosted by Chegu Carol and this time, it we were having it at Little Italy!

Thanks to my camera, most of my pictures snapped during the gathering were in super poor qualities. Too bad! I’m so disappointed with this white compact digital camera of mine. Maybe I should go for a new one but wait until the baby is born first lah kunun. Back to the gathering story, so yeah, I won’t share lots and lots of photos here. But you can hop to other lady bloggers’ blogs for more pics.

Talking about the gathering, there were eight of us showed up that night; Chegu Carol, Mimi, Rose, Flo, Wyne, CathJ, and Ennie. And of course, I’m included. It was my first time meeting Rose and Flo in person. Both of them were really nice and I enjoyed their companion. I had fun listening & sharing stories with all the ladies. But at most time, I was a listener because I just can’t resist those scrumptious food! Well, biasalah kalau yang perut besar kan. Selera pun besar juga mah. Hehe!

Besides chit chatting and dinner, there were gifts exchange too! Each of us were asked to cabut nama and hand our gift to the name we get. And I’ve got ..

I said to myself, mummy’s probably right. So I just follow what she suggested and in case the clothes are really not enough for the baby, well at least I have someone to bomb at. Ha! Just kidding.

When my sister Sasha was back for Christmas a couple of week ago, she brought these along with her:

Hat, mitts and bootees set, and two pairs of cute newborn tights! Thanks so much for these yaa Sasha I love these all especially the unique design of the baby’s hat. 

And, right before I went back to Keningau for Christmas, I received a Pos Laju failed delivery notice in my mailbox. I wondered what was it and who it was from. When I got back here a few days ago and claimed the parcel at the Post Office center, it was actually a Christmas gift from Stella!

Another reason to smile the whole day. It’s a baby girl gift set plus a Christmas card from her. Thanks so much for these too yaa Stel!

With this, Santa’s gift, plus the gifts I got from my other sister Carol and her hubby, the second level of my baby’s wardrobe is now officially packed. Yay!
