Mixed one my “upcoming” tracks today.

It’s called “I was known as Joe”. Have a listen.

Unfortunately the vocal track was semi destroy’ed as logic certainly crashed as I was editing and doing fade-ins. I will see if I am able to reproduce the audio file, otherwise I just need to re-record the vocals…

Disappointing demo works

Been a while since I posted anything… I have been in the studio for a couple of days, and have been working on an old song… Recorded new guitar tracks, introduced a couple of new pieces and re-arranged the song…

This is the raw mix of the outcome.
The arrangement still needs a lot of work – especially glueing the pieces together… The bass and drums needs to be synced as well…

I like the new intro piece though…

It’s been a while since I have posted anything. I have tried mixing one of my tracks, focused a lot on the drums.

It’s been a educational journey, read and saw a lot of video turtorials about concepts like sidechain and parallel compression.

DataGridView Column order bug when databinding

Was struggling with a very weird bug this weekend. When databinding to a DataGridView the column order was changed.

Googling about the problem let me to this forum thread. Apparently it is a known bug with the DataGridView, and it is fixed by setting the AutoGenerateColumns property to false before databinding.

dgvLines.AutoGenerateColumns = False
dgvLines.DataSource = New BindingList(Of PaymentLedgerItem)(CurrentLedger.Items)

Normally I would set the AutoGenerateColumns to false when databinding, but it wasn’t necessary for this implementation – so I thought…

Old track in new clothes

I have spend a couple of days wrapping an old track with new parts and guitar tracks… I have recorded new vocals as well…

Current state of it, its called “This is my wound”:

I want to do new bass and drum tracks. I really dislike the cymbals I did way back.

*UPDATE*
Have update the track:

Drums – fixed some of the cymbal issues, and fill’s
Lead vocals – turned the level down
backing vocals – level down and changed the echo effect to a small stereo delay instead
Clean guitar – changed the voicing to a “vintage american” sound instead of british.

Enjoy once more.

The chorus ended up in my finished song titled “In the night”.

Apply banners in pphbb3 using javascript

Helping out a frequent visited phpbb3 based forum – I’ve been looking for a simple banner system for phpbb3, the search have been dreadfull…

I ended up doing this simple thing in 10 minutes.

Added the following in styles/themename/template/overall_header.html in the theme:

Added the file banners.html in the root of the board:

Doing an instrumental ballad again

Another sunday jampiece. Recorded using my newest guitar; a ESP 400 series stratocaster – it’s a fantastic guitar. My favorite after my Patrick Eggle Vienna.

Anyways… This was the outcome, It’s called Love to the moon and back;

Have been insane at work the last month (Suuuuurrprise!). I have two technical drafts which I will address in a couple of weeks. Spoiler – I can tell you that I have been working a lot with Microsoft’s Workflow Foundation.
