There is no debating that we all like to have a good time. Sometimes those good times can go deep into the night/morning.

And sometimes it is just smarter to go home before the party goes that late.

Benefits of going home early? More sleep. Less chance of hangover. Probably won't embarrass yourself in front of others.

Disadvantages? You could miss something. Like your friend putting his head through a window. Or YOU putting your head through a window!

The silver line will not be extended to Mattapan and Dorchester. Metric plays the House of Blues tonight. Bruins managed to get a win last night, but no goals for Andrew "The Firefly" Ference. John Kerry's daughter was arrested for DUI last night. Amy Winehouse went to the hospital because one of her breast implants sprung a leak. The Metropolitan Planning Organization has approved spending $9 million in federal stimulus money to build a footbridge to nowhere. A new survey from Dunkin Donuts finds that most of us like to take a nap after stuffing ourselves with turkey on Thanksgiving so we don't have to deal with annoying relatives. A bad pumpkin harvest is responsible for a shortage of pumpkin pies this year. The unemployment rate in Massachusetts has fallen for the first time in two and a half years.

The Sandbox Office Report

Well, it's New Moon Friday here on The Sandbox. After some audio from the movie, Special Ed is at a loss for words. Well, Fletcher says, this is important stuff. Bella finds out that Jake is a sexy werewolf. No, Ed says, he is not a werewolf... he is a shape-shifter! Werewolves go through very painful transformations and they're half wolf, half human. Jake, on the other hand, instantaneously transforms into a full wolf. Stephenie Meyer ruined vampires and now she's trying to ruin werewolves. But if you're a fan of the books and you want to see it, you're going to enjoy this movie. Charlie points out that it looks like an action movie, but Fletcher says this is something the whole family can go see. Young girls and old women are all going to love it. But they definitely could have chopped off about 45 minutes.

Whatever you do, don't take the children to see Planet 51. Go see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs again or just wait for Toy Story 3. It was terrible.

And we had a surprise guest! Robert Pattinson called in from Italy to tell the guys New Moon is the greatest movie ever created in the history of movies. He is a real vampire, he says. And Stephenie Meyer got it right again!

Cleaning Guy Pat D's Pats Preview

Today was not so much a preview as it was a playback. Pat loves Belichick and is standing by him. This was a great play - there were just bad results. Everyone is giving Belichick crap and they're all douchebags. Pat says Belichick had a 30% chance of winning the game and a 70% chance of losing. If he punted he only had a 20% chance of winning and an 80% chance of losing. He made the right choice. And it wasn't just that call that led to the Patriots' loss; there were other things going on too. For one, we need to take into consideration the timeout Brady called, and we can't forget about that fumble from Maroney. It was Peyton Manning out there! A future hall-of-famer! It doesn't matter where you give this guy the football, he is going to score a touchdown. The Pats are going to play the Jets in a few days, but f*** the Jets. Belichick will not make another bad call.

Adam Sessler

Adam Sessler from G4tv was on the air today to talk about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2! The game made $550 million in 5 days, and is being called the biggest entertainment launch of all time. Charlie wants to know, what is the draw to this game? Technically, Adam says, it almost has no parallels. The graphics are great, and you can almost feel the atmosphere. There's a sense of realism that no other games have accomplished. They take that realism and drop you in the middle of the action, which is something very few games have done. Fletcher points out that this seems like something that could actually happen, making it even cooler. It's like scary movies... they're scarier when the things happening in the film could happen in real life.

The Qdoba Mega Robo Thunder Phone Query

Fletcher likes to party and stay out all night. And sometimes that escalates into something crazy. Charlie, on the other hand, is usually one of the first to leave. Fletcher and Ed think they may have gotten kicked out of a WFNX event last year and poor Fletcher feels really guilty when he doesn't remember something like that happening. Well, Charlie says, if you leave earlier in the night you're better off. You see your friends, have a few drinks, and you're not sloshed driving home. So today's query: When do you leave the party? Do you bail early or do you shut it down?

Looks like we have quite a few party animals listening to the show. Most of you think you should go big and stay late.

Name That Tune

A Friday tradition, we played Name That Tune this morning to give away tickets to see the Pixies and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones! Paul from Waltham was our victor this morning. So congratulations to Paul... finally! He's been trying to win for a while.

Diskin!

There's a lot going on this weekend. First, there was a grand opening of a The Ames hotel in Boston. And they're offering super cheap rates right now so you can go check it out. It's another great weekend for food, too! At the big Herb Chambers Lexus showroom in Sharon, there's the 3rd annual Platinum Plate Gala tomorrow. Tickets are $100 but it's for a good cause, Cradles to Crayons. Twenty of Boston's best restaurants will be there serving food. And finally, Mike's favorite, The Boston Hat Revolution Part 1. Some people have decided that Boston needs to become a hat city, so at 5pm tomorrow they're meeting at 25 Newbury Street where they'll hang out for a little bit before migrating elsewhere. They're looking for creativity, people!

Take former Mayor of Lynn "Chip" Clancy for example. He called for a recount of the mayoral election that he had lost by 27 votes.

A recount was done and Clancy ended up losing by 30 votes the second time around. Oops!

Like we're been doing all week, The Sandbox gives you the chance to see two Beantown legends, kid - The Pixies and the Bosstones! First, you've got to identify the song and kindly ask the Sandbox to "Make it stop!" Congrats to Ryan from Salem for guessing the tune from Aaron Neville, who will be calling in to the show later! Like, really - not just Fletcher doing his "incredible" impression!

E-Bag E-Bag E-Bag!

Poor Ed and his fatty liver. The People really feel for him today, or at least the ones sending in emails. One letter says that they have developed an awesome recipe for Vegan nachos and would be glad to share. Vegan nachos? Fletcher says they should give it a go, and fake food isn't all that bad...like veggie burgers. What's good about veggie burgers, Fletcher, really?

Suggestions for Fletcher's quest for a backpack are still coming in as well. You've gotta spend some coin to get a decent one - its an investment! Charlie has had his $75 backpack since the early 90's, and he thought he was spending a lot of money back then. This brings out the rage in Ed about those stupid people on the T that get on the crowded trolley and don't take off the damn thing

Wyc Grousbeck

Owner of the Boston Celtics Wyc Grosbeck calls in to discuss important things, like the stickers on his F-150. Charlie saw this douchebag with a gigantic Bruins magnet on the side of his car, and hopes that Grousbeck doesn' t have a C's one. No worries, as he just has a little sticker commemorating the '08 banner. More importantly, why didn't KG's shot count last night!? Grousbeck's just as disappointed as the rest of us.

Surprise! Grousbeck is in a rock band, The French Lick! How cool! The French Lick plays tonight at the Landsdowne Pub for Ray of Hope, Ray Allen's charity event. Fletcher hopes the door creeks open and Peter Gammons and Theo Epstein want to throw down and rock out, which would be alright with Grousbeck, as they've done the "Hot Stove, Cool Music" event before. Ed says sure the old men would do fine, but could they stand up to Ernie and the Automatics!? French Lick has even opened for J Giles and Sister Hazel, so watch out!

The Real Live Aaron Neville!

Yes, Sandboxers, it's Aaron Neville himself! He's promoting a new Christmas Charity album with the Salvation Army, but sadly, there is no duet Al Roker. But, what is this? Aaron Neville just popped into the studio, to duet with the REAL Aaron Neville! The two Aarons do a little "Walking In A Winter Wonderland" to get in the Holiday spirit!

Neville has been performing for ages, and Fletcher notes that he's still ripped. How does he do it? Neville says that he works out often, and at age 74 he's got that muscle memory, so its not going anywhere!

One more for old times sake, both Aaron Nevilles? The voices of angels sing "Don't Know Much" live, together, for the first time! Check out the podcast for the landmark performance!

The Mega Robo Thunder Phone Query

In honor of former Lynn mayor Chip Clancey, do you wish you should have left your mouth shut? Clancey lost the election in Lynn, so he demanded a recount...only to find out that he still really lost. What do you wish you hadn't said? We could all learn a lesson from this guy:

Ed wishes he kept his mouth shut his entire academic career, from talking back to his primary school teachers to mouthing off to high school principals. Fletcher brings up their meetings, where he's decided to keep his mouth shut. When he says something like "Uh huh" or "interesting," add about 20 minutes to said meeting. No more. One caller was coming back from Canada and thought he'd make a funny joke about claiming a kilo of coke...whoops! After customs tore apart the van and found nothing, his friends still weren't laughing.

Maura Talks Music

What's up with Justin Bieber? He's the 15-year-old that the Sandbox talked about on Fletcher's Never Heard Or Seen Review this week that's burning up the charts. Maura has heard comparisons to Aaron Carter, which she thinks is bogus. He samples The Cardigan's "Lovefool" on his record, too, and the kid was 3 when that came out! His record is on track to sell over 100,000 copies, which is pretty good for the music industry these days. Maybe the girls love him because he's Canadian. Those Canucks are quite charming.

What's up with DJ Hero? Fletcher wants to know if Maura thinks it's cool, but Maura wants to know if the Sandbox thinks its cool, because they're "professional DJs." You can't make this stuff up! Only if you knew, Maura. Charlie says he definitely scratches, but it has nothing to do with records. Everyone agrees the game looks pretty lame.

Finally, Maura mourns the loss of Ken Ober, the host of MTV's first non-musical game show "Remote Control." Charlie and Maura really wanted to be on that show back in the day and sit in those recliners. It was, however, MTV's first non-musical show, so it kinda was the beginning of the end. At least Charlie got to stare at Kari Wuhrer and her mini-skirts.

Pop Trash w/Fletcher

Last week, the Sandbox talked about the awful cover songs like the Black Eyed Peas doing "Paradise City," and now Anya Marina (star of the New Moon soundtrack!) has a whole iTunes EP of cover songs, including a decent version of T.I.'s "Whatever You Like." Check it out, really. This prompts the Sandbox to develop a new bracket (it has been awhile), of the 'good' cover songs that work, and the ones that really bomb and should be never listened to again.

President Barack Obama has wrapped up the business portion of his trip to China and is now sightseeing. The Republican Party in Massachusetts hopes to revive the death penalty debate. Adam Lambert's record label and manager instructed Out Magazine not to make the star look "too gay." Paul Pierce returned to practice after suffering a knee injury Friday night. The Strokes "Is This It?" has been named the album of the decade. You're no longer confined to fish n' chips if you go to England... London is now offering Chipotle! The Massachusetts Senate has approved an education bill that has been called the most extensive since the Education Reform Act of 1993.

Fletcher Missed That Movie Too: Krush Groove

Fletcher is a complete novice of hip hop, so he thought this 1985 film based on Russell Simmons would be an educational experience for him. One of the first things he loved about it was the white out-of-touch old lady teacher. Special Ed points out how amazing the acting is, as it is in all movies from the 80's. When one of his acts makes it big, Russell turns to a street hustler for money. You probably don't need to be reminded that taking money from a hustler is never a good idea. Overall, Fletcher gives this movie a B! It was a fantastic educational experience and he is now much more in touch with the streets. Yeah boiiiiii.

Forsberg!

No one's done talking about Belichick's play yet, and that includes The Sandbox. Forsberg says he loved the call itself. It showed total confidence in his offense. It didn't go well, but punting wouldn't have worked either. It didn't matter if he had 30 yards or if he had 70 yards, Peyton Manning was moving them down the field so efficiently, he would have scored either way. Fletcher wants to know, do the headlines and angry callers get into Belichick's head? Forsberg thinks the whole team is probably upset for about an hour after the game, but then they move on. And Belichick is no different. Now moving on to a team that is not living up to its expectations... the Bruins. Forsberg admits that he hasn't even been watching them, they're so awful. This is the same team as last year though, so maybe things will fall into place. But for now, the Bruins have to give fans a reason to watch, and right now they're not.

The Qdoba Mega Robo Thunder Phone Query

Special Ed went to see Brand New at the House of Blues last night, and in between bands he saw a couple; the guy was wearing a Misfits hoodie and his bleach-blond girlfriend was wearing a North Face jacket and a huge purse. She was pissed that she was getting pushed around in the pit and her boyfriend wasn't protecting her, so naturally, she insisted they leave. Ed thought the guy was going to stand his ground. But JUST as Brand New was getting ready to go on stage, he conceded. What's with girls? Guys would never do that to their girlfriends at a Taylor Swift concert! We've kind of talked about this before... If there's a band you really want to see, do you take your significant other with you?

The guys admit, the kid in the Misfits hoodie probably could have done a better job protecting his girl. One guy told us he was dragged to a New Kids On The Block concert and he has a good point - if he can get drunk enough, his girlfriend can get drunk enough. The consensus: if you agree to accompany someone to see their favorite band, you need to sit down, shut up, and stick it out until the very end.

Ed Has a Fatty Liver!

Well, it's been confirmed: Ed has a fatty liver. When a very nice woman delivered a sweet potato pie to the studio, Ed's doctor texted him, "no sweet potato pie for you." The guys then decided to get him on the phone. Not surprisingly, Doc thinks Ed's fatty liver was caused by his frequent consumption of alcohol. Ed is not happy that he has to forfeit his pizza and nachos for vegetables and fruit. But Doc assures him he just needs to reset the clock and let the liver heal a little bit, take it easy for a while. Fletcher asks, are a dozen beers or so every other night extreme? Doc says that everyone reacts a little differently, so not necessarily. And genetics do play a role, so Ed is allowed to blame his parents for yet another ailment.

Pop Trash

Rob Schneider recently did a radio interview on The Wild Morning Show with Kevin, Virginia, and Jason. And he was not happy that the studio made him wait in the parking lot until they were ready to talk to him.

Maybe he's just pissed that he hasn't gotten much work lately and is forced to make appearances on morning radio shows.

Special Ed-Fex

The guys have Pixies and Mighty Mighty Bosstones tickets to give away! And with everything going on involving the MBTA lately, Ed thought an appropriate sound effect would be a T crash. Congratulations to Joe for guessing correctly! He'll be rocking out with the Pixies on November 27th and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones on December 7th!

Sports w/Special Ed

No good news here, the people. The B's lost 4-1 at home, the Patriots still blew it the other night, and Brock Lesner has intestinal problems. To top it all off, 86-year-old Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams was fined $250,000 by the NFL for conduct "detrimental to the league." Sure is! Old Bud's still got it!

Super Dave Osborne

Super Dave is back with a show on Spike TV! He says he can’t even count the number of bones he’s broken and body casts he’s been in after all these years, and now he just gets to watch other people hurt themselves. Super Dave coaches UFC guys and does crazy stuff on his shows, and loves that something like his show is on cable right now, up against “Jon and Kate” and the Kardashians. Ed wants to talk about the Super Dave’s cartoon, which sends Dave into a tizzy! The show was ranked #7 among kids shows, but that goddamn Sheri Lewis and Lambchop killed it! Super Dave has had many roles over the years, such as the surrogate dad on “Arrested Development” and Marty on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” two shows that the guys love. Super Dave says that more people call “Marty!” to him now than anything else, and he and Fletcher don’t want the show to end! Charlie once again reminds him of his credentials, including working with Johnny Carson, which Super Dave says he absolutely loved. Catch an upcoming appearance from Larry David on his Spike TV show, “Super Dave’s Spike-Tacular!”

#21 of the Boston Bruins, Andrew "The Firefly" Ference!

The Sandbox all got together last night at the Garden to catch the Bruins game and hopefully see Andrew Ference score a goal and F some S up! Fletcher is happy that Ference didn't score last night, because when Andy gets his first goal of the season...FNX will stop playing 'Fireflies' by Owl City! Andy really doesn't like that song, which earned him said nickname, and he now realizes the weight he has on his shoulders. We're pulling for you, Andy!

Charlie brings the focus back to hockey, and notes that the B's have been able to get it done against good teams, so what up? Andy says the team gets hungrier when they go up against a number one team or a rival, and they're all trying to capture that attitude for every game. Fletcher says they better, or else everyone is just going to keep calling them "bums" like the dudes behind the Sandbox last night. "Shoot the puck, ya bum!"

Dr. Fletcher Operates

This one's rough, after all those Bud heavies Fletcher had last night at the Garden, he can't even hold the tweezers steady! After several failed attempts, Jay from Lowell had the doctor get the Breadbasket and pulled through! Congrats Jay, you get to see The Pixies and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, kid!

The Mega Robo Thunder Phone Query

Why'd you go back out that night? Massachusetts State Senator Anthony Galluccio was involved in a hit-and-run accident more than a month ago, and now the cops are saying that they gave him a lift home LATER that night, at about 4:30 am. The Senator went out and had a few, went home, and then got wasted again later. Ed has done this several times, and it’s a whole lot of fun, but Galluccio was just taking advantage of who he is and being above the law. Fletcher goes out during the day to events, rests for a bit, and then goes out again at 11 that night. He claims he does it because he is still young enough and doesn’t want to ‘miss out’ on anything. Most of the time it's for booty calls, say The People, which we all know can be a blessing and a curse. "Star Trek" – Fletcher doesn’t really like Sci-Fi, but this was a whole lot of fun! Ed thinks it rips off Star Wars, which gets him all worked up. Here we go. Come on, Simon Pegg’s in it, so how bad can it be?

"My Sister’s Keeper" – What a bad, bad movie! Fletcher loved the trailer, and just wanted to see an emotional movie where he could just cry his eyes out. Nothing about this was good.

"Bruno" – Kinda disappointing, since we’ve all done this with "Borat." Fletcher thinks Bruno seems to be kinda staged, too. And do we need that much dong?
