Never watched the show, but then again I don't watch much TV anyway. It's just a colossal waste of time, but that's just me.

Plus, I needn't see a show set in NJ to know about Guidos and Guidettes. I am originally from RI, and there is a place in Providence called Federal Hill, which back in my youth was infested with steak-heads just like on the show. All of them young punks who automatically thought that outsiders wrere there for their bimbo women. Perhaps worse, if you didn't give the bimbos the eye, the guys would get all insulted that their slags weren't good enough for you; either way, you got an ass-kicking. Per usual, they never attacked one-on-one, but in a mass of gaudy Orlon shirts and Brylcreem. If you weren't fully eye-tie, you had best not find yourself on "Da Hill" after sundown.

The whole area was lousy with mobsters and mobster-wannabes.

Can't say as I miss it much.

"I think it’s safe to say that this same woman has no options on the sexual market, and she is probably siding with men because an obese woman can never be on friendly terms with a physically attractive woman."

Good grief. You can't possibly truly believe that. Not only does it make you sound like a total ass, you are assuming that a woman cannot speak the truth unless she looks like a HB10. Shallow is an understatement.

Besides, I'm not "siding with men". It just looks like that to you because our current society is so women-skewed that taking a centrist position looks pro-male. I am not "pro-male", I am pro-patriarchy. Patriarchal men and women are on my side, and everyone else is on the other side. Capiche?

I care as little about what men want as I care about what women want. I promote patriarchy because it is a core tenant of my faith and follows Natural Law, not because I want to curry favor with one sex, or the other. If everyone in the whole world hated me for it, I would continue to say what I know to be right. That is what religious faith tends to do to people. I am an unapologetic religious fanatic. I have never tried to hide that, and this post isn't the only one that has criticized me for it.

"‘Nicole’ who frequently comments on Roissy’s blog, also fits this description."

Since you're not being "superficial", I won't bother to mention that Nicole and I share many things in common:
-- we are both black
-- we are both married mothers
-- we are both in interacial marriages with European men
-- we are both devoutly religious
-- we are/have both lived in countries other than the US
-- we are both intelligent and well-spoken

Good thing that you noticed all of that. Very astute of you.

Aww... I miss you too FB. You also amuse me, and I like to be entertained.

At any rate, I continued commenting elsewhere, I just pulled down my blog and am restructuring, rewriting, and reposting it here.

I am.

I have nothing against Hestia, but I would like to note that she has most excellent GirlGame. On the other hand, appealing to misogynists like Globalman has it's limits in recommending someone for their virtue. I am wary of Hestia because she seems to love all men merely for being men, rather than seeing them as individuals to be judged on their own merit.

There are some men that I like and some that I don't, just as I like some women and don't like others. That is because I see tham all as truly human and complex individuals, rather than stereotyping them as "good" or "evil" by their sex. I do not think women are inherently better than men and need special legal protections from the Big Bad Men, but I also don't think men are inherently better than women and need special legal protections from the Big Bad Women. Both views are skewed, both from reality and from Christian teachings on Original Sin.

Our Church teaches that one of the reasons we enter into the sacrament of marriage is because it tends to enhance our better qualities and subdue our worse ones. That would imply that both men and women have positive and negative qualities to be enhanced and subdued.

Awww... Et tu Snarky? You wound me, you truly do. Especially as you didn't even bother to be snarky in our comments. I am so disappointed, as I really expected better from you.

It's true that I'm a hopeless flirt and a bit of an exhibitionist, but I do appreciate men as human beings, and not as worthless sex objects. I think they are worthwhile sex objects, which is something completely different.

If I have been too naughty in that statement, I prefer to take my punishment in the form of spankings. I'm afraid you'll have to wait behind all of the others who wish to spank me first, including the more butch among the feminists.

(See, that was appropriately snarky, brazen, and irreverent. Take notes, please.)

I am truly enjoying these comments. I hope everyone comes back to read my responses, or I shall be truly disappointed.

"She insulted my intelligence and my love for GOD."

Awww... Did I hurt youw feewings? Some people just can't take any criticism because it huwts their widdle pwide.

In other words, you're still peeved that I pointed out that you're a Christo-feminist, and not particularly Biblically-literate. Don't you just hate when that happens?

"If she is 180 lbs, that’s not as much of an issue as her vain and hateful disposition."

Collecting stones to toss around your glass house again, are you? Wasn't that why I told you off the last time?

My anecdotes only seem improbable to you because... well, let me be kind and refrain from pointing out the obvious.

At any rate, you are completely wrong. Whether I am vain is less relevant to my arguments than whether I am fat. If I am truly fat and unnattractive, then my anecdotes are all lies. If I am vain, then I have a truly annoying, sinful trait. That makes me the only person on the planet to be a sinner, renders me completely incapable of telling the truth, and discounts all of my arguments. Or... wait. Nope. That doesn't make any sense, does it?

Still haven't learned to think your way out of a paper bag, have you? That's alright. Keep trying Tootsie!

Now go hide somewhere else.

This post is very interesting. I hadn't realized that my weight is so controversial. I had originally posted my weight in a discussion of the BMI index, which Tim read at Obsidian's blog.

For the record, the average American women has these stats:
BMI: normal
Waist: 32"
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 140 lbs
Dress size: 14
Bra size: 34C

My stats are the following:
BMI: obese
Waist: 29" (0.66 WHR)
Height 5'4"
Weight: 170 lbs (Previously 180 lbs, with similar measurements.)
Dress size: 12
Bra size: 32H

I'm phat, not fat. In other words, I have a very exaggerated, curvy figure. I look like I'm wearing a corset, even when I am not. I posted my measurements to make the point that weight can be quite meaningless in judging a woman's physical attractiveness.

It is true that I'm not "every man's type", but I'm hardly starving for male attention, and am readily identifiable as a fertile female. Which is good enough for me.
