I don’t have much energy to update because I’ve been WRITING ALL AFTERNOON at our awesome Red Hot Writers writein.

My wrist hurts! Because I wrote over 3300 words today. Booyah!

(I’m still behind, but I’m not NEARLY as behind as I was. Now back to my awesome writers.)

…because I am only writing this in order to keep up appearances that I am, in fact, writing on my blog (or another blog) every day in November.

Besides, I feel that I am coming down with something today. Or something is coming down on me. No, that sounds all wrong. What I mean to say is that I think I am possibly getting sick, except I don’t want to be sick AT ALL. So I have spent today trying to avoid being sick.

Today, I don’t have much to post about. It has been a nice sort of day – the sun was shining for a while, which is a BIG DEAL up here in the FROZEN TUNDRA of Michigan. Ha.

I have been thinking a lot about my business, and the general direction of my professional life; I have been doing a lot of Serious Grownup Planning about the next (bigger!) stages of my work. It is bizarre to be in this position already, when it was only February last year when I decided to be a web designer for real, and only March of this year when I became the family breadwinner. I am so thankful for how far life has taken me, and how far I have taken myself.

Without further ado, your Caffeinated Takeaway for today:

Life is not going to hand you a set of perfect opportunities and then wait for you to act on them. Life is not going to patiently hold off on crises, whether large or small, while you figure out what you are going to do next.

Life is YOURS. You choose what you will do next, and life is there to bend and compromise with what you intend. Yes, make good plans first. Yes, get good advice. Yes, follow your head as well as your heart.

But don’t wait around. Make steps, don’t just take them. Forge your own path, because the feet meant to travel it are your own.

Hello lovely people!

I’ve had a ridiculously busy day here, but it’s been a good day too.

I worked on my writing a little. I played with the baby. I changed a few poopy diapers (okay, that part wasn’t so fun). I took a nap with my husband while the baby napped this afternoon (bliss!). I talked to a new client on the phone.

I was recorded for a podcast, talking with Jill at Lookilulu. Also, the other day, I was featured on their website (here’s the link to their profile on me).

So here’s your takeaway for today

Take the time to do the things that matter.

Take a nap. Play with the kids. Eat some Halloween candy and don’t feel guilty. Take fifteen minutes and work on whatever means something to you. Even when you feel that you are out of time, fifteen minutes makes a difference.

Don’t be afraid to be just as awesome as you are, and quit guilting yourself about everything. You’re doing great.

Something interesting for you to know

I decided to start offering coaching – business coaching, that is – as part of my thing. You know, my thing? The thing I get paid money for?

I have a whole two clients so far (waves to new clients – hi awesome people!), and let’s just hope that I ACTUALLY know what I think I know I’ll be talking about! Otherwise some very nice people are going to be asking me for a refund. ;)
