Promotional event for promoting “Arirang “

There is ongoing event for promoting “Arirang” at National Folk Museum Seoul, South Korea from 4-4 to 5 -21. “Arirang “is the song of Korean people. It deciphers the pain, courage and gives hope and aspirations for homeless and hopeless. Visit to museum was quite exciting and fun. Before I didn’t know that there were varieties of “Arirang”. I was quite surprised listening varieties of these songs. Some was quite melodious; some were full of enthusiasm while most of them expressed the pain and sufferings people suffered. Feelings in these “Arirang” were heart-touching some songs nearly brought tears in my eyes it bore so much of loneliness. Many young students and all age people were enjoying the music and theme of museum. This is dear to every Korean and it will remain as a legacy to them for generations to come. Teachers are the most important person in our life. They are the ones who teach, inspire and encourage us to pursue the dreams we aspire. Today is “Teacher’s Day in Korea”. We use to celebrate our teachers day with great enthusiasm and respect to our teachers back home at Nepal. In Korea too students has lots of events for their teachers. Schools, colleges and University students are busy in buying gifts to their beloved Teachers. Personally, I also like to honor all the teachers all over the world for making difference in so many lives. Dedicated to all teachers

Life teaches us many things. We should explore what we want to know. Experiencing new things, living it and making other realize how worthy it is, may be the most beautiful feeling. The more you know the beauty within it the more inquisitive you will be. There are lots of hurdles and pushovers which we may go through to achieve the dream we have in our eyes. I remember one saying that do not store your dreams in your eyes they may roll down with tear instead store them in your heart so that every beat may inspire you to fulfill them. Month of May as I see spring just passed out with blink of eye and its already summer. It’s time to grow, shine more than before. It’s time for outing, games and travel. Carrying out the projects and targeting deadlines. Challenges and risk are there to be tackled. It’s so easy to fight all those hurdles just because of the sweet smiles and talk of the good friends we have. Life seems to be more and more wonderful. I wish to feel the moments that would change my entire life and I would feel proud to be who I am and make those around me proud.

DESCRIPTION: The year 2012 marks the 17th anniversary of the Seoul Friendship Fair. This year’s festival will be attended by performance teams from sister cities from over 10 different countries as well as teams from foreign embassies, tour agencies, and cultural centers from over 60 countries. A wide spectrum of unique culture events will be taking place, including traditional performances and sampling of cuisine from around the world. Other events include traditional costume shows and an international painting contest for children. Nepal embassy is also participating to promote culture and food cuisine of Nepal.

Happy Mothers Day

“God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers” was the proverb I learnt when I was at my secondary school level. I clearly remember it till today. There may be thousands and hundreds of proverb to define mother however, from the child’s pure heart word mom itself is the greatest thought. Purest is the mom’s love, her care and her thoughts for her child. This feeling is incomparable. She is my best friend, first teacher and first love. It is said “A man’s work is from sun to sun, but a mother’s work is never done”. Today Our Country Nepal is celebrating Mother’s day. Lots of sweet shop, lots of fruit shop must be busy. Every child from far and near is visiting their mom if they are away from home. Being in foreign land I miss all those sweet memories of celebration of mom’s day. Though for taking care and loving her we don’t need any day however, marking one day as mother’s day we want to give her the respect she truly deserves. I just want to say I love you mom for bringing me up to this wonderful world, to experience and explore all ups and downs and giving me courage to fight back all the hurdles and for teaching me to love.

Every single day is a special day if you think so however, the New Year day has its own meaning. Looking back to year 2068 we may have went through hard phases, done numerous mistakes and may have been foolish. However, now we must think wonderful times are ahead. Moreover, we may have beautiful memories to cherish all our life, wonderful feelings to express and live. Now its New Year It reminds me of poem by William Arthur Ward

Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!

Spring is coming with happiness. Tolling upon the streets now I could feel the change. Nature is about to change. Colorful pavilions, gardens and trees. Fragrance of these flowers is good for our health and it also brings luck and happiness in our life. Life is really wonderful. Though weather keeps on changing spring is the best of all seasons. When first sunlight touches the dew drop over the flowers its gives dazzling shine which makes our heart beat faster like when we had our first infatuation in early teens. It must be the nature’s gift to the mankind. It must be handled with care otherwise it may not last long. Beautiful season is approaching, we should enjoy this refreshing and beautiful nature. We should enjoy the nature and make our life colorful with colorful wardrobes. It is time to hit the shopping streets Myeongdong, Dongdemoon, and shopping complexes nearby for new clothes. Korea’s Largest Cherry Blossom Festival in Jinhae has been started so if you are interested it is better way to celebrate season of spring with blossom of cheeries. I hope everyone’s life would blossom as cherry. Seeing these beautiful flowers really invigorates me. I must say spring is full of compassion, love and life. Along with spring New Year 2069 is approaching. I would like to wish you all Happy NEW Year 2069. May this New Year will full all your aspirations, may your life be filled with happiness. Looking towards new goals and resolutions,I hope everyone can be fulfill their quest. Be happy and be good.

Tteok preparation at Tteok museum

Tteok is traditional rice cake of Korea made with glutinous rice flour. It has been reported to have more than 50 varieties of tteok in Korea. Here we just prepared one of them. Meya tteok. All the participants of Vision Korea 2011 actively participated in this tteok making experience. Tteok specialist taught us how to prepare it. Kumar Bhusan, Kim Suhyun, Kwon Dason and Wang wangda were in my team. We had fun while learning to make it. I would like to thank vision Korean organizer for providing us such chance to learn about Korean culture.We shall always cherish these moments. I would like to thank my friend Kumar for visualizing the video. Please enjoy the video below. For all those people who are eager to learn how to cook new foods.

Experiencing preparation of sweet potato rice cake

Recipe for the cake preparation was quite simple

Rice floor

2 boiled sweet potato

Oil

Water

Sugar

It took just 20 minutes to prepare the cake. Cake was delicious. We had fun in making, sharing and eating it together. Being in foreign land and experiencing different culture is indeed interesting. If you are somewhere experience and try new things. Life is all about experiencing and living a lively life. Please enjoy the video below. I am sorry about saying sugarcane instead of sweet potato.
