Compass #19: The Lenten season is off to a start as discussions head back to the basics. Scaling back the excesses, focusing on God through an inward prayer life and giving to those who cannot give back may be the real spice of life. Plus, we want to know, can the essence of the Christian Orthodox faith be captured and plugged into an Excel spreadsheet or would it live out more freely on a Word document? Can a doodle hold a candle to the masterpieces found beyond the front doors of our church and our hearts? Find out as discussions take the usual, unusual path.

Domestic Violence & the Church

Compass #18 - February 10, 2012 - A candid and honest discussion about the problem of Domestic Violence and the church's response. Linda hits hard with questions about the Church's response considering women are absent from the liturgical life of the Church. Fr. Vazken addresses these challenges by appealing to the core of the Armodox tradition. Gregory Beylerian's icon depicting mother and child, titled "Violence Hurts; Love Conquers" is unveiled and explained. It will serve as the cornerstone of the Domestic Violence walk during the week.
