System date and time change automatically to some other time

Today my colleague reported an issue to me that he is not able to make any change in time of some of virtual machines. He was using Hyper-V server. Whenever he make change to his virtual system time it automatically change with a new time

To check I asked him to disables time synchronization under system integration setting and check it. He checked it after doing and found its working fine now.

I checked his base machine and I found time zone of virtual machine and physical machine was different and because of that this issue was occurring.

If you have this issue in any of your virtual machine please do check if its physical machine time zone and virtual machine time zone both are same. If you cannot change time zone of either of the machine than disable the time synchronization between your host and guest machine.

If you are having this issue in your physical machine only then do check if your systems time zone is correct and is it synchronized from any of time server. If this is the case disable time synchronization or change the time zone.

Use your owa url for server, user name and mail id complete mail id and domain blank

We migrated to BPOS services few days back and it was very disappointing that Microsoft has any proper documentation on support page for these very popular devices. They have specific document for blackberry and for Windows mobile but not for other popular devices.

I found the solution from some research and I am sharing the same with you.

Server name--- red003.mail.apac.microsoftonline.com

Secure connection ---yes

Mail Id ---Full mail ID

User name--- Full mail Id

Password ---current password of your account

Domain --- None (keep the space blank)

Please understand server name could be different depending on your region. Here are details as per your region. This is same as your owa URL.

Asia Pacific (APAC) red003.mail.apac.microsoftonline.com

Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) red002.mail.emea.microsoftonline.com

North America red001.mail.microsoftonline.com

Not able to send mail from Exchange Server using Drupal form

add that particular user as member of ExchangeLegacyInterop Groups

We shifted our mail server from a pop3 server to in-house exchange server and after that we faced few issue in different zones one of them is Mail sending from Drupal. My team members were able to send mail using pop3 settings earlier but they were not able to send mail using exchange setting.

They used Gmail smtp setting and they were able to send mail using Gmail. I tested it with other vs.net code and I found I am able to send mail using vs.net code so ultimate result was it’s a compatibility issue between exchange server and Drupal.

I tested sending mail with account that has full permission, that particular account was member of each group and I was able to send mail using that ID. I tried sending mail with other users and Identified I am not able to send mail even when that user is Administrator group member. Then I started adding exchange related groups one by one in a test user account and tested if I am able to send mail now or not.

After few attempt I found this user must need to be member of ExchangeLegacyInterop group to send mails using Drupal. I added this user in ExchangeLegacyInterop Group and after that I can send and mail using Drupal form or code to any ID.

So end result is if you want to send mail from Exchange Server using Drupal you need to add that particular user in ExchangeLegacyInterop Group.

Please understand I had a previous exchange 2007 server in my environment and this issue may occur due to that also so if it do not work for you than do let me know.

I was trying to install client access and hub transport server role in my Exchange test environment. In this environment I intentionally removed my Exchange 2007 but I dint know it will create issue for me while installing other server role.

I was trying to install client access server role on one of my test server and found error “The nominated exchange server for offline address book OAB has been deleted nominate a valid server and restart setup” in prerequisites of exchange 2010 client access server role.

I tried assigning it from my exchange management console over new exchange 2010 server but it was making my console hang so I decided to remove the settings from ADSI Edit and then try to install. I removed the setting and installation went smooth. After that I got the offline address book as well.

Here is procedure for that.

1) on run type adsiedit.msc

2) On ADSI Edit MMC right click on ADSI Edit and click on connect to

3) from second drop down list bellow select a well-known naming context select configuration and click ok

4) in configuration it will give you FQDN of your domain

5) Now go to services under CN=Configuration, DC=yourdomain,DC=com

6) Under Services double click on CN=Microsoft Exchange

7) It will take you to your domain

8) under this double double click on CN=Address Lists Container

9) Under this you will get CN=Offline Address Lists groups.

10) remove these settings from here restart your installation

Run the setup again. This time it should get installed with no issue.

Please understand these settings changes may impact your running exchange organization so please implement these changes on your own risk I will not be able to take responsibility for any damage.

Not able to install mailbox server role in Exchange 2010

Mailbox server role installation failed in exchange 2010

This issue can come due to many different issue and you need to work on each issue one by one.

It could be due to a discovery search mailbox issue, or federated email account issue or issue or time difference issue or active directory schema issue.

I can come up with 4 issues and solution at this time and in future I may write more as well.

1) Time Synchronization issue: Make sure you have synched time on new server with your Active directory server. If you do not have this time synched than its not going to work on your server and you may find a failed mailbox server installation.

2) First thing after having this error you should do is prepare the active directory and schema again run these three command for this in given order

a. setup /prepareschema, setup /preparead, and setup /pad

b. Make sure you are running these command from exchange server installation folder using command prompt

c. Restart the system and try installing it

3) If above solution do not work try to recreate federated email account.

4) Federated email account not working properly :If you are not able to install exchange server mailbox server role than try removing and creating federated email account once procedure for that is as bellow

a. Remove the FederatedEmail.4c1f4d8b-8179-4148-93bf-00a95fa1e042 e-mail account by using the ADSIEDIT tool. To do this, follow these steps:

b. Click Start, click Run, type adsiedit.msc, and then click OK.

c. Locate the Default Naming Context node, and then locate to the CN=Users container.

d. Locate and then right-click the CN=FederatedEmail.4c1f4d8b-8179-4148-93bf-00a95fa1e042 container. Then, click Delete.

e. Rerun the Exchange Server 2010 Mailbox role setup application.

f. Create a new federated e-mail account by using the following command:

g. New-Mailbox -Arbitration -Name FederatedEmail.4c1f4d8b-8179-4148-93bf-00a95fa1e042 -UserPrincipalName FederatedEmail.4c1f4d8b-8179-4148-93bf-00a95fa1e042@<Default_Accepted_Domain>

h. Now restart your server and try to install the server role

5) If above solution also do not work then try recreating Discovery Search mailbox. Ideally Discovery search mailbox should get created after running prepareAD and prepareschema command. You can use this link for recreating Discovery Search Mailbox. http://www.mikepfeiffer.net/2010/04/how-to-recreate-the-system-mailboxes-in-exchange-2010/ or remove the discovery search mailbox from exchange managment console and restart the server now follow step 2 given above and try to install the mailbox server role. It should get installed.

Please understand whatever changes I am suggesting I am suggesting that on my own experience and it could be anything in your environment so I would request you to check these changes first in your similar test environment. Another thing that I will say please use these tricks after taking a complete backup.

Remove DAG from ADSI edit to mount the database automatically

If you are running a DAG that is failed and you do not have witness server or your secondry mailbox server that this problem may come to you for its solution remove the DAG from server and database will get mounted automatically.

On run type adsiedit.msc
On ADSI Edit MMC right click on ADSI Edit and click on connect to
From second drop down list bellow select a well-known naming context select configuration and click ok
In configuration it will give you FQDN of your domain
Now go to services under CN=Configuration, DC=yourdomain,DC=com
Under Services double click on CN=Microsoft Exchange
It will take you to your domain
Under this double double click on Administrative groups
Under this you will get database availability groups.
On other side you will find entry for your Database availability group
Remove these settings from here restart your EMC and this time your mail database should get mounted.

Please understand I am not very big exchange expert and this is a suggestion from my side based on my experience, I am not responsible for any damage in your exchange organization so kindly do these changes on your own guarantee.

If you are not using exchange server under your domain than it may be possible that exchange will ask for user name and password each time you connect with it and even select remember password.

It’s very simple and easy to manage for not to prompt for password for outlook and exchange connectivity

Go to control panel -->credential manager-->click on Add a windows credential.
It will take you to a new page where it will ask for Internet or network address user name and password. Give the settings as bellow

Internet or network address: email.apdubey.com (replace email.apdubey.com with your exchange server)
User name : your exchange mail id
Password : your exchange password.

Now open outlook and it won’t ask for a password to get connected with exchange server.

Please remember above settings are for windows 7 but if you have windows xp you can do same for that as well.

I was trying to install Exchange server mailbox server role in my organization where I already had exchange server 2007 and exchange server 2010. I installed additional server roles in my test environment and I was able to do that successfully in test but as soon as I tried to do it in live environment it started failing. I was just shocked had my heart in my hands and then I started searching things for it.

I searched on internet and I found lot of useful links but none of them worked for me. I am posting few of them here because it might be useful for you in case my trick do not work for you.

You can have any of above solution in your system to check if it’s working for you. Before trying these solutions make sure you check if your clock setting and time zone of your exchange server is correct and synch with your domain controller.

If time is not synch on your server and client machine than I would suggest you to do following

1) First synch time on your ADC server and client server

2) Now remove server from active directory using ADSI edit.

adsiedit -->connect-->configuration-->services-->MS Exchange -->infobeans-->Microsoft Exchange -->infobeans -->Administrator group-->exchange Administrative group-->servers

3) Delete your failed email server from here.

4) Restart your Active Directory Server.

5) Install a new exchange server and this time it should work fine.

You can find many more links online and you will have to select that as per you need. This is just one solution that may or may not work for you.

How To How Import Mail from outlook to Apple Mail

I searched for this and found many answer but none of them were really useful for me so I tried to identify my own ways. I was able to get some paid tool but I was not willing to pay $49 for that tool so I skipped that method and decided to Use Thunderbird and as expected thunderbird solved my issue.

Before following this tutorial please understand I am in assumption you still have your windows computer intact and all of your mails are there in MS outlook or outlook express.

This procedure will be done in 2 parts half on windows and Half on MAC.

Here is procedure for importing mail from outlook to apple Mail.

1) Install thunderbird on your windows computer.

2) Now open thunderbird and click on tool and select import.

3) It will give you a wizard to import mail.

4) In this wizard it will ask what you want to import don’t get tempted because of import every thing just select Mail and click on next.

5) In next step it will ask from which Mail client you want to import mails.

6) Choose your Mail Client and click on Next.

7) When you will click on next it will start Importing Mails from outlook or outlook express.

8) Once it is done it will create a folder named Outlook.Import.

9) Right click on this folder and go to its properties.

10) It will open a window in which you can get location for this Outlook.import folder.

11) Open this Outlook.import folder and copy all data of this folder in a Flash drive or any preferred Movable media.

12) Now you are done at Windows Machine.

13) Connect your Flash drive in MAC machine.

14) Open Mail in MAC.

15) Go to file in MAC and click on Import Mailboxes.

16) It will give a wizard from where you need to import Mails.

17) Select Thunderbird and Click on continue.

18) It will ask for profile location of thunderbird.

19) Guide it to profile path that you copied in your flash drive and select choose.

20) In next screen it will show you all the folders that were there in your outlook and imported in thunderbird in windows.

21) If you want to remove any folder you can remove that.

22) Now click on Continue and it will start importing mails from thunderbird profile.

23) Once its done it will take some time to get synched properly in MAC Mail so don’t get panic if you find your MAC mail is slow after doing that. It will be done in few minutes depending on size of your Mailbox.

24) Once its done properly you can drag and drop folders at your preferred location from import folder

Remove unwanted files from System32 folder

I was going nuts due to increasing file size in one of my server that I created in 2006 and I was not getting any clue what to do. I checked everything and found its windows folder that is consuming a lot of space, I searched everything and found no solution for that other than deleting memory dump but that wasn’t enough for me.

I started checking size of each individual folder and came at result that a folder names “Logfiles” in windows\system32 folder was consuming space over 7GB. I searched for same on Google and found that I can delete its files that I don’t need any more.

Simply next step was to remove these Logfiles from c:\windows\system32\logfiles folder and I got enough space once again for my regular work.

To gain disk space in c drive you can try following 3 things.

1) Delete Temp file:à I will not explain you how to do that make a Google search for that.

2) Run Disk cleanup:à Same answer for this too, you need to do Google for how to do that if you don’t already know.

3) Remove dump files: àIf your windows machine got crashed or gave blue screen due to any reason it will create a dump file equivalent to size of RAM in windows folder for removing this file on run type %SystemRoot% or C:\windows and remove Memory.dmp file.

4) Remove Log files from system32:àGo to c:\Windows\System32\LogFiles and remove all the old log files that you don’t want to use any more. I would suggest you to go inside each folder and delete all old file but do not remove recently created files.

Other than this I would recommend to remove all unwanted program, remove files that you don’t really need on C drive and to search and remove any kind of dump file to reclaim maximum disk space in root drive.

Benefit of cloud computing for Small and Medium Business

Since few days I was willing to writing about cloud computing benefits for small and medium business but was not getting enough time for that or we can say I was afraid for writing same because of my limited amount of knowledge than also I forced myself to write and now I am starting.

In cloud computing one can have different prospective and different aspects but for enterprise the area that is going to cover maximum area is servers. Cloud computing not only can decrease the cost but can assure for data backup and maximum uptime guarantee of server with an SLA that is near to 100%.

For proving my point let me put an example of an email server. In present scenario using simple POP3 and SMTP mail in an enterprise is not enough and business must need to have an email solution that can give calendar sharing, calendars, resources sharing mechanism, automatically updated global address list for every new user and lot more.

One can have these solutions using MS Exchange or Zimbra or any similar other available tool. For these tools enterprise need to make a server at their premises and then they need to use this server as their primary mail server. If you see only this part of the above solution than this look very simple and cost effective but things that need to be taken care after creating this server can be as mentioned

1) Sever need to be up and running all the time.

2) Get UPS backup for same for a longer time.

3) Someone must need to take backup of server as its critical server and data is highly important

4) If server fails due to any hardware/software/power issue that you must need to have a redundant server.

5) This redundant server must need to be there in another part of globe because if any internet disturbance in your nation or zone and if your both server are in same zone than your mail server is practically down as no one from other side can send or receive mail to you.

6) These servers must need to secure with lot of work and manpower so that is going to be an extra cost.

7) You need to purchase the hardware and software so that will also make a cost to you.

8) You must need to upgrade hardware software and power backup solution in every 3 years. As per Intel you should not use hardware for more than three years.

If we take an example for creating an Exchange server in India for an organization of 100 to 250 people than minimum cost with no redundant server will be at least 10Lac INR per year at the same time if that organization goes for Microsoft Exchange online than for per mailbox it will cost 60$ so for 200 user it will cost 5.5Lac INR only. If you go for Google Apps or hosted zimbra than it could have gone more lower.

In cloud based mail server you don’t have to worry about any outage or data backup or security threat for your server or power failure or many other points that you can have in a server created or owned by an organization.

In cloud based server they will have backup, redundant server and everything else that one organization need. It will be cost effective and much more reliable too.

I cannot give same statement for bigger organization that has office around the world and big number of people because they must need to have their own data centers and they can manage and maintain it with no extra cost. But again that will be similar to cloud computing.

One can write n number of pages on benefit of cloud computing but from my side for today this is enough

Not able to view orkut full site in opera mobile

I was just walkin and browsing orkut on my basic GPRS mobile and found that I can not browse orkut in full site mode in opera mobile 4.2.

I tried other site as well and found i can not browse then in full site mode even if its not wap site. I checked opera settings and found that culprit was mobile view setting in it. I disabled it and than tested site and I found I can browse every website in full site mode without any problem.

Here is setting for disabling mobile view in opera mobile. Go to setting and tools now uncheck mobile view and save the settings.

Outlook not accepting exchange password

Solution: Remove stored windows username password and it will work fine
I apologise for not writing regularly on this blog since many days as I was running out of time due to other work and maybe I was not involved in solving issues or problems as well.

Today one of my HR member complaint that she is not able to connect to Microsoft Exchange server using Ms Outlook. Outlook was asking for password each time and my other team member from network team also tested and there were not able to find any solution for this problem.

As always I did Google but no lucky answer from Google. They said some big thing that I tried and ended up with no good Result.

For this Id I was able to create and configure exchange account on other computer or other user profile on same computer but I was not able to connect with Exchange using outlook on same profile. I looked at all point and then I ended up with removing all stored username and password for that and it worked fine.

Here is procedure for removing stored username and password in Windows client computer.

For Windows vista or Windows 7 please go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\Credential Manager।

Scheduled Undersea cable Maintenance between 23rd-27th May 2010

Today I received an SMS from Airtel about scheduled maintenance on undersea cable between 23^rd and 27^th may. They said they are taking necessary action for keeping Internet speed high but I am sure everyone will face slow browsing and late ping reply।

You may or may not find this problem in your internet connection depending on your ISP load

I received this SMS from Airtel but as these undersea cables are shared for the entire ISP so I feel all other provider will face same issue।

So if you face any slow browsing during that time no need for panic don’t just keep pressing F5 button thinking your page is not loading or you are getting a slow download। It will be normal during that time.

So if you face any issue like this in your internet connection during 23^rd to 27^th may in India call to your ISP first before doing anything else.

11 Must have applications for a new Windows machine

All the time I format or do a clean installation of any Windows machine I must install 11 applications before using it. Without these applications I cant think about working on my computer.

Here are these applications

1) Antivirus: I do not do anything on my computer unless I do not have good updated antivirus software in my computer. Personally I prefer McAfee or Kaspersky but you can buy any of your own choice. If you don’t want to buy one use Google pack antivirus+spyware doctor that’s a good antivirus. http://pack.google.com

2) MS Office: I believe this is one tool that every windows user is aware of and one cannot go-ahead without MS office for any office application.

As I said previously I don’t support priacy so I cannot give you a free download link of it but you can use open office that is equally good if you do not wish to buy MS office.

3) DO PDF: A free PDF printer that can convert any printable document in PDF file. In our day to day life we always need to convert documents in PDF so it’s a great free tool for that.

4) Media Players : Every one needs a good media player if you are using computer at home so I prefer 2 ways for it. Either get a good pack of codec or get a media player that can run almost every media file.

VLC media player is a player that can run almost every media file with almost any codec. You can get it from www.videolan.org

If we talk about Codec I recommend only Klite codec that can allow you to run almost every media file in Windows media player. You can get it from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

Codec’s are available for 32 bit and 64 bit Windows any version.

5) Web Browser : Firefox/Chrome/Opera/Safari

No Need to explain if you use computer at home or office you must need multiple web browser

6) Instant Messenger :Google talk/skype/yahoo/MSN live messenger

7) Free Download Manager: FDM is a download manger that accelerates download speed of a download and it allows you to resume a download. It can easily integrate itself with all browsers. Best of all its free and it don’t get any viruses or spyware like other free or ad-supported downloads managers do.

8) Utorrent : I can’t think my computer without a good torrent client because I download many thing from torrent including all the latest distribution of Linux videos that I don’t in my DVD store.

9) WinRar: I don’t use winrar for normal zipped folder but winrar can extract almost any kind of compressed file including iso files.

They ask for money but I never paid them for it and neither needed any crack for using it for all the time you can download it from www.rarlab.com they provide it for 32bit as well as for 64bit.

10) Wordweb: A small but wonderful dictionary application for everyone who English is as poor as mine or poorer than me. It can explain meaning of almost any English word

You can download it free from http://wordweb.info/free/ they ask you money for using this tool if you take more than 3 flights in a year, so I believe one can use it all the time.

11) PDF Reader: No need to explain need of a PDF reader application for anyone who is familiar user of computer and Adobe reader is freely available from http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/?promoid=BUIGO

How to Get Maximum Speed from BSNL EVDO data card

I am using BSNL EVDO data card since last 18 Months and I found it really good।

I wrote a post previously about its peed and usage including default username and password, with reference to that post I received many email in all this time with a way to get good speed on BSNL EVDO data card।

They complained they are not able to get good speed on BSNL EVDO data card and I wonder why they do not get it।

Some time I also felt same problem but only for a few second as soon as I use it in my regular using style it become normal again.

Here is a list of precautions that one should take care while using data card
1) Your computer should be virus free:à Its a precaution not only when you use data card but for all the time to get good internet speed.
2) If you are using a laptop I would recommend do not use it on bed, it makes your laptop heated and slow performance of entire system including internet. Use a card board or wood when you are working from your bed.
3) Your data card should be in air and it should be free to receive signals from every direction.
4) If possible please keep it away from all magnetic and metallic material.
5) If you are not getting good speed changing direction of your data card will give you a really changed speed, try changing your data card direction slowly.

Update display driver for your Windows 7 using Windows update and it will get fixed.

I installed windows 7 on my desktop few days back and it’s running smoothly but it has one problem as well. While working screen of my windows 7machine start flickering by it and when I click on any of the application it stop flickering.

I have few other Windows 7 Machines in my office and I never received this problem from any of Windows 7 User but yesterday one Windows 7 User came to me and complained me that his computer screen suddenly starts flickering and that it again stop in some time.

I said I do have same problem and give me couple of minute to find the solution. I searched on net but found no easy way to get rid of this problem. I assumed it as problem of Display driver so I thought to check update my windows 7 computer and when I checked I found in optional update it had 2 drivers on it, first was for my Samsung Sync Monitor and other one was display driver for my Intel DQ965 Mother board.

I installed these updates restarted my computer and after that I have not received annoying screen flickering problem again even for once.

I applied same changes for my other team member also who complained me for screen flickering and it worked well.

So if you have problem of Random Screen Flickering in Windows 7 you don’t need to worry about any thing. Go to windows update setting check for update go to optional component find display driver update for your display and install it.

After that you will not have this problem again.

I have tested it on different machines and it worked fine for me.

Why I get 1/10th speed ISP commited

In my office we upgraded with a fast speed internet line and my colleague came to me with a question AP why do we get 1/10^th speed comparative to our internet connection.

I received same question from many people on my mail and resolved those queries also. Today I found some time so I thought about explain this.

Generally all ISP (in India not sure about rest of the world) give speed in mb that is megabit not MegaByte. For calculating your internet speed in Byte or MegaByte you need to divide your ISP given speed by 8 and you will find speed in Byte or Mega Byte or we can say actual speed.

If you buy a 1Mbps internet line from any ISP and then you are assuming to get a file of 100MB data size in 100 second that you are wrong. You need to give it at least 800 second or more to download that file.

Let me explain calculation of bit and byte for easy understanding.

1Byte = 8bit

1mega bit = 1MegaByte/8

If we talk in direct way it’s as simple as dividing speed by 8. If you have 1mbps internet connection your maximum download speed could be 1024/8=128 KBps (Kilo Byte per second) that means if you are downloading a 100MB file on 1Mbps internet connection you need to give it at least 13.3 Minute.

Generally no one get full speed on one download even if its lease line so you should expect this time at least 16-17 Minute for downloading a 100MB file.

Remember Divide your internet speed by 8 to get actual download speed on your internet connection.

Other than this many time I received question “Why I don’t get speed committed by ISP?” and which one is best ISP?” I will write about it but in some other post.

ATI X 200 Drivers for Windows 7

If you installed windows 7 with ATI x 200 graphics and hunting for driver, stop searching but update your windows 7 from windows update and it will do rest.

I installed Windows 7 on my Compaq Presario M2000 Laptop, I loved this laptop always, it worked well with Windows Vista with all aero theme/effect without any driver so I was hoping it will work great with Windows 7 as well. I installed Windows 7 on this laptop but it result poor graphics, no sound and 1 or 2 other missing driver.

Sound driver was available on HP website but not the display one. I goggled for this and found a solution that I can download ATI X 200 driver cab file from Microsoft update website and I can use that but I didn’t like that idea.

Instead of that I connected my computer to internet, took all required update and that required update installed driver for my graphics and touchpad also.

If you have a computer with ATI X200 driver and you want to use windows 7 with its entire graphics feature you need to do following.

1) Enable automatic update on your Windows 7 computer.

2) Check for windows updates that are available for your computer.

3) Select all the required update including driver.

4) Install updated and restart your windows 7

5) Once restarted Aero effect may or may not come automatically.

6) If it worked automatically thats fine else right click on desktop go to personalize select any Aero theme and it will be done.

Above tweak worked on my Compaq Presario M2000 Laptop and Intel D101 GC mother board. Both have ATI x 200 Graphics display. I am confident it will work on all other board that has ATI X 200 Graphics.

Some time it gets very frustrating and annoying to have unwanted ads. These unwanted ads not only consume precious bandwidth but also can take you in an awkward condition.

Imagine “you are in office and you open a nice music website suddenly one ad came out stating a flat stomach with a girl in bikini (adbrite ad can be like this)”. Of course you did nothing wrong in that but then also you faced the shameful condition.

Well I will not give you more pain but I will prefer to give a solution for this problem.

Some prefer to us Firefox extension ad-block plus but I dint like it. It’s tough and not that much effective.

Simplest thing that I always recommend is enter all ad server host name in your host file. For a normal computer user it’s impossible to identify ad server address from website, so I made a host file containing most of the ad server.

Let me tell you procedure for blocking ads in steps

1) Download hostname file created by me from here. (http://rapidshare.com/files/308336040/hostsname.txt)

2) Now open your host file

a) i)For windows 2000, Windows XP and server 2003 login as administrator user and press ctrl+r.

!!)On run panel type “notepad c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts” without quotes and press enter.

b) i) For Windows vista or Windows 7 click on start à all program -> accessories.

ii) Here you will find command prompt, right click on command prompt and click on run as administrator.

iii) It may ask for confirmation confirms it.

iv) When command prompt open type “notepad c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts” in command prompt and press enter.

3) Go to the end of the host file.

4) Open downloaded hostname.txt file, copy all the content of the file using ctrl+A and ctrl+c.

5) Go to back to hosts file and paste all the content here.

6) press ctrl+s or save file using file menu.

7) Close the file and browse ads free internet.

Warning and precaution

1) Make sure you go Thorley to entire hostname.txt file.

2) I will have no responsibility if any useful names get added in host file. You can remove those names

3) make sure you take back-up of your host file before making any changes.

4)If you find page not found error on any of your desired website in browser you need to check your host file if its name is there if yes remove that name from host file.

5) I tried to add as many name as possible but if I missed something let me know.

Open Suse 11.2 released

I am not a Linux geek neither a regular user of Linux but if you ask about my favourite Linux I always loved open Suse other than Fedora. Never loved Ubuntu or madriva or any other flavour of Linux as much as I liked Open Suse.

Open Suse 11.2 is just out in market and I started downloading of same hopefully I will get it by tomorrow morning and I will be able to use it by tomorrow evening. Generally I am a user who start using any OS from its beta stage only condition it should be available on net on free of charge but this time I was not able to do R&D on any beta OS other than Windows 7.

Well that is past and present is that Open Suse 11.2 is out and it seems a great Linux Distribution with all new great feature. I can give short details of new features but for more you have to visit www.opensuse.org.

Few features of Open Suse in short

1) Linux Kernel latest version 2.6.31.

2) File System Ext4 supported, don’t worry old file system are supported too.

3) Covered more hardware so more driver available for desktop and notebooks.

4) KDE 4.3 and Gnome 2.8 with all new eye candies.

5) Firefox 3.5 and open office 3.1 for all office and browsing need.

6) Additional support for many social networking sites.

7) You can install it using DVD/CD or USB including network install.
