Yeah the fourht edition of Aperitweat was super awesome. We had over 80 tweeps attending the event and charity amount raised was over Rs.40,000 for our cause, Help a Child! Along with tasty food we also had some games like Twousie (Twitter + Housie) and Whacky Twancing on the Cafe Goa Dance Floor. It was a crazy night.

Since Aperitweat is all about the individual Tweeps we are thinking why not have prizes as the extension of same idea. So prizes for the raffle can have a personal touch that makes it unique. Some ideas coming to my mind are:

• Salsa Dance Tutor may give free Salsa classes as a prize.
• Photographer may give a free portfolio or free tag along on his/her next photo-shoot.
• A yoga practitioner can give free yoga sessions.
• A blogger can offer featured post on his blog.
• If you don’t have any such thing to offer you can always sponsor a bottle of wine.

We know we’re a bit late in writing to you guys but we’ve been a bit busy these days, with Niamh packing to NYC via Ireland, and Gioia and myself working hard these couple of days. But please, let us thank you all for coming to AperiTWeat 3.0 last Tuesday.

The new scenario at wonderful Viva Verdi was much appreciated, with a good mixture of seating, standing space and outside area to allow for your networking needs. The food was excellent too, but the best factor of the night was surely the people.

First of all, the lovely bunch at Lovebox, Kaushik, Michael and Darshan, who made it possible for us to actually do something good and not only enjoy the night (which we definitely did, as testified by the videos taken with the real life Lovebox). Then Mario from SomeoneOnceToldMe, who was so kind to adapt his concept to the night, by taking pictures of you tweeps with the (now in better hands) “I love…” whiteboard.

You all helped us achieve a lot, by donating in support to Endometriosis UK. We would like to thank Rachel for helping coordinate the whole thing, and for going around talking to people about endometriosis. We are happy to confirm that we raised a total of £150, which will very generously be matched by the Financial Times (thank you Gioia for making this possible), adding up to £300 being donated to the charity.

This is a wonderful result for us and we are very happy to contribute towards such important research. This would not have been possible without you lovely tweeps.

On a final note, a big big thank you to Niamh, who will help spread the AperiTWeat tradition on the other side of the pond with the help of Dave from September onwards. A massive good luck to you!

“Don’t Play With Fire”. “I Think I Am Pregnant”. “Take Pleasure In The Little Things”. Did someone once tell you something like this that remains imprinted in your memory or influenced you in some way?  Hopefully you’ll want to share these stories from your life because Mario Cacciottolo from Someone Once Told Me is coming to AperiTWeat London on August 18^th to capture your SOTM!

Mario, a native of Malta and a journalist with the BBC in London, describes his project as ‘photography meets storytelling’. He launched Someone Once Told Me just two years ago and now the website features an epic collection of 700+ photos, quoting something someone once told the subject. Most of these were taken by Mario himself, but many have also been submitted by fans from all over the world. Someone Once Told Me is rapidly gaining recognition with 3.7million page views to date. It recently featured in the Metro Newspaper and on the über popular blog Boing Boing. Even Darren Ewing, the TV director of 24 had his SOTM taken!

In support of the AperiTWeat and Lovebox campaign for Endometriosis UK, Mario will photograph your “I ♥ …….” to capture the things you love about life, London or whatever tickles your fancy. Also, Mario would be delighted to take your SOTM at AperiTWeat, so be sure to come equipped with a quote and a story of what someone once told you!

As you know we’ve joined forces with Lovebox to support Endometriosis UK and encourage awareness of the condition. On the night, we’ll be hosting a raffle with some excellent prizes up for grabs and the proceeds from this raffle will be donated to Endometriosis UK.
