Apple hätte fast AMD-Prozessoren für das 2011-MacBook Air verwendet, so schreibt Forbes in einem Artikel namens „The Predator”, welcher in der 12. März-Edition des FORBES-Magazins erscheinen werden wird, was Berichte vom letzten Jahr bestätigt. AMD soll mit dem fabriklosen Modell gekämpft haben, während sie die Prozessoren, die sowohl CPU, als auch GPU vereinen, auf das Förderband bringen wollten. Der Notebook-Prozessor, genannt „Llano”, war anscheinend schon von Apple ins Visier genommen worden und hätte im MacBook Air Mitte 2011 verbaut werden sollen.

Ein ehemaliger Mitarbeiter sagt dazu, Apple hätte zu dieser Zeit keine funktionierenden Proben von Llano gehabt. Einige andere ehemaligen Mitarbeiter von AMD stimmen nicht damit überein wie nahe AMD war und sagen, sie hätten es schon gehabt, aber zu viele Llano-Teile wären fehlerhaft gewesen, sodass AMD den Deal verloren hätte.

Interessanterweise gab es einen billigen Prozessor mit geringem Stromverbrauch, der „Brazos” hieß und für eine neue Version des Apple TV bestimmt war. Apple allerdings war daran nicht interessiert.

Mozilla hat bekanntgegeben, dass der Mozilla Marketplace sich bald für HTML5-Apps öffnet wird, das es Entwicklern erlaubt, solche Apps einzuschicken.

Apple hat Entwickler informiert, dass die Mac App Store-Sandboxing-Frist am 1. Juni ausläuft, was bedeutet, dass alle Applikationen ab diesem Datum in der Sandbox laufen müssen.

PushTone ist ein neues Tweak, das es einem erlaubt verschiedene Benachrichtigungstöne für jeweils eine App zuzuordnen. PushTone ist im Cydia Store für $1,99 (~1,50€) zu haben.

iOS has a powerful ringtone library. But It only could be used to system apps, like phone.message.etc. And also some apps don’t have a notification sound. All the notifications sound the same, you can’t tell the one which you care. With this tweak, you can select a sound from ringtone library for every push-enabled app.

To assign a sound, go to the Notifications panel in Settings, choose the app from the list and configure the sound played with the new option added to the bottom (see the screenshots)

FireCore hat soeben Seas0nPass 0.8.1 veröffentlicht und bringt das Stitching, das SHSH-Blobs in eine Firmware-Datei injiziert, um so ohne Weiteres diese wiederherstellen zu können. Dadurch kann man in Zukunft einfach auf iOS 4.4.4 downgraden.
