Some of the best results in VIEW Magazine are the interactive articles/features. In the sixth and latest issue of VIEW, Nate Larson and Marni Shindelman's geolocation photography project becomes an interactive project in our magazine. In this project the artists use publicly available embedded GPS information in Twitter updates to track the locations of user posts and make photographs to mark the location in the real world. Each of these photographs is taken on the site of the update and paired with the originating text. In VIEW Magazine the text is hidden until the user taps the twitter icon. The text then appears over the image in a large font size, creating a bold new visual image. The artists select texts that reveal something about the personal nature of the users' lives or the national climate, while also examining the relationship to physical space and the ways in which it influences online presence.

Another interactive project in this issue is Chris Dorley Brown's project "Spot the Difference". Chris took a photo at the same location (and sometime of the same people) over the span of nine to thirteen years. With a click of a button on the iPad or iPhone the viewer can see the two different photos of the same location with its varied degree of change, from subtle to extreme.

Other projects show views of places that fade often too quickly from the news. A good example of that is Toshiya Watanabe's personal photos of his abandoned home in Fukushima, Japan which he was able to visit 18 Months after the earthquake and nuclear disaster that followed.

With issue six we switched the system we publish VIEW Magazine with to a more robust publishing platform called AppStudio. The result is a magazine that is significantly less heavy so it takes less time to download and is more optimized per your particular device (iPad 3 and 4 owners will now enjoy images in retina resolution while previous models, including iPad mini, will download smaller image files to match their screen size).

This change also brings one more improvement. VIEW Magazine is now universal and for the first time available on the iPhone/iPod touch. While we know it's not the same experience as viewing larger images on the iPad there is something quite attractive in being able to possess works by very talented artists and photographers in your pocket!

CoinMad introduces Find The Movie 1.0 for iOS. In the app, players try to find the name of a certain movie, based on a distinctive screenshot of the film. The app features a variety of movies, from blockbusters to lesser known European and Asian films and from classic drama films to spaghetti western and martial arts movies. With 2 different game types and 3 different difficulty modes, leading to 36 levels for the user to complete, the app has hours of guaranteed gameplay.

Back in the early 80's, in Athens, Greece, there were only 3 channels on TV for someone to watch. One night, at the age of 7, Manos Koufakis, saw a black and white movie on his TV. The movie featured a guy trapped in a basement that kept getting smaller and smaller as time went by. The movie was one of the most exciting things Manos had seen at that very young age but due to lack of information at the time and as he didn't see the movie from the start, he couldn't find out what the title of the movie was.

As years went by, all he could remember was a scene where the main actor of the movie was chased by a giant cat. He started asking friends, relatives and even some guys into movie films, but no one seemed to know what that movie was.

After the internet explosion, Manos posted a small description of that scene in a movie forum and he received numerous answers related to what that movie might be....and after a few days someone came up with the answer! The movie was named: "The Incredible Shrinking Man". And that ended a "life-long" search!

That was the original idea behind, "Find The Movie" App. To get people to find the name of a certain movie, based on a distinctive screenshot of the film. But to make it a bit more accessible to all sorts of film fans (from the die hard to the casual ones), it was decided to turn the App into a multiple choice type of movie game.

Another important decision, was to feature all kinds of films! From blockbusters to less known European and Asian films and from classic drama films to spaghetti western and martial arts movies. After 5+ months, more than 5000 different movies were selected for the App, making it at the moment, the world's richest in content mobile game movie App in the world.

WeezLabs, Inc. recently announced the release of SamsungCNC 1.1 for iOS. It's a free mobile app that greatly assists machinists and engineers in finding Samsung CNC Machine Tools, including lathe machines and vertical machines, according to their needed specs. Now also included in the app is a Dealer Lounge which helps in obtaining the recommended tools.

When Samsung began their machine tool division in 1989 they made it their mission to "locate, secure and deliver the most appropriate machine tools for the job". Dynamic International originally created the SMEC iPad/iPhone app to help machinists and engineers to find such high-end SamsungCNC machine tools that would meet specs, but Dynamic International found that not only could the the original design of the SMEC app be taken further, but having submitted their app to the Apple iStore several times with no success of acceptance, they also found they needed help in getting app design up to par with the Apple App Store requirement.

WeezLabs specializes in the design of mobile applications for iOS and Android smart devices and their portfolio was a clear indicator to Dynamic International that WeezLabs was able to take their SMEC machine tools app concept and extend its feature set. Dynamic International contacted WeezLabs and the app was quickly enhanced, made more graphically appealing and transformed into a spec assisting tool that machinists and engineers should cherish. Due to the WeezLabs programming design, it was also quickly accepted by the Apple App Store.
