Nevertheless, according to the renderings, the phone itself ought to be 4.33" x 2.36", shorter but a little wider than the current iPhone4. When they measured the cases, they found it to be designed for a phone around 4.7" x 2.6", with some room for error. These cases seem to be a bit larger…
The uncertainty reaches the culmination. Unless someone somehow shows dimensions for that lost iPhone5, we won't be able to know the truth until the iPhone5 is revealed in October, as last said.

How To Turn Battery Percentage Meter On

For those who have ever wanted to know the exact remaining percentage of their iPhone battery life, we have a quick solution. Out of the box, the iPhone has a battery meter which is a graphical representation of a battery, showing you the used and left capacity of your iBattery. As it is very small, it is hard to accurately tell how much battery life you have left. There is a way to make it much clearer, read on to find out how to do it.
iPhone5- Stronger Demand Expected

According to a survey conducted recently among 2,200 potential cellphone buyers, it turned out that more people are likely to buy the iPhone5 than were ready to put their money down for an iPhone4 before that was launched.
The Research shows that 31% of users who are presently shopping for a new phone regard it as “very likely” (13%) or “somewhat likely” (18%) they will end up with an iPhone 5 in their hands. Compare that with the numbers for the iPhone 4 — 12% and 13% respectively — and what you have is a level of “bottled” demand that is exceptional in surveys like this.
Of course, that’s basically a function of the fact that we’ve had to wait so long for the iPhone 5. Its forerunner is nearly 15 months old at this stage; that’s a lifetime in cellphone years. Some 66% of current iPhone owners say they plan to upgrade to the new model, sight invisible. That includes a whole lot of iPhone 3GS users, who opted to skip a generation.
There’s also some fascinating news for the survey: Fully 54% of their subscribers say they are “significantly likely” or “somewhat more likely” to buy the iPhone 5, which reports suggest will be launched on Sprint complete with an unlimited data plan, of the kind that AT&T and Verizon no longer offer. But if current iPhone usage is any indication, the amount of bandwidth those customers will suck up may be more than Sprint can cost-effectively afford…
via Mashable

iPhone5 Leaked Design Details

Take your first look at a screen protector that has been designed for the iPhone5, it shows off the stretched home button seen in the leaked design document.
While we've seen countless claimed iPhone 5 case designs in the past, none had shown the front of the device. The elongated home button area design, however, was shown in leaked design documents. The plan documents only show areas that need to be unprotected or open to the user, so it doesn't mean the physical home button will inevitably adopt the exact shape.
Apple Employees Claim iPhone5 Is Weeks Away

With the huge flow of demand about iPhone5 information, this is what we’ve found recently: it may be downright crazy, but Apple will make an iPhone5 announcement in the next few weeks. The source of this probably the most awaited news are two Apple employees in Cupertino, who have told The New York Times that a “fairly different” iPhone 5 is “just weeks away” from its grand launch. Here is the quote from the article:
“We’re just weeks away from the announcement of the new Apple iPhone 5, according to an Apple employee who asked not to be named because he was not allowed to speak publicly for the company.”
One more news: a “credible” iDevice accessory producer temporarily has published what it claimed to be iPhone 5 cases recently. The New York Times has been told by one of its sources inside Apple that the case leaks from earlier today were most likely legitimate:
“From descriptions I’ve heard of the new iPhone from Apple employees, the images seemed potentially authentic. But it seems that Case-Mate might be sneakily trying to take advantage of the excitement over the phone by posting and then unposting the images. These things rarely happen accidentally, especially when it comes to new Apple products.”
The same source keeps claiming that the next iPhone will have a 8 megapixel camera, with either this model or the next sporting a new Qualcomm chip with NFC communications technology for mobile payments.
via iDownloadBlog

iPhone5 Latest Headlines

The tension and the incisiveness of the rumors around Apple’s latest smartphone iPhone5 reach its culmination... Every tech blog has its own versions about what would the 5G iDevice look like, when it will be launched and how much it will cost…
As each of the e-publications claim to have the information from “reliable” sources, we decided to sum up all the latest rumors and present you the recent summary about iPhone5 news.
According to one of the latest rumors, Apple is expected to hold a press event to unveil its next-generation smartphone in the next few weeks, The New York Times is reporting. This isn’t news — Sprint pretty much gave the date away, canceling store employee vacation for the first two weeks of October. However, the other sources say that two Apple phones will be débuting in the near future. This fits with the rumor that Apple is set to launch a cheaper iCloud-based iPhone that will include prepaid plans and look similar to the iPhone 4.
The second phone, which is so much awaited iPhone 5, is deceptively “a sight to behold” because it is “impossibly light, yet much firmer than Samsung Galaxy phones.” It’s even said that the new iPhone will feature much wider screen and a curved aluminum back, much like the iPad 2.
So the conclusion, as in most cases linked to Apple and its secrecy, is still up to you to make.

Apple- The Most Admired Company In Terms Of Its Customer Experience

Apple has been crowned the most admired company in terms of its customer experience, in a survey of global business leaders. The survey, conducted by customer-experience experts Beyond Philosophy, looked at the risk that re-branding and other initiatives could have on customer experience for a company, but also at which brands the surveyed individuals most admired. Belos you can find the quote from the survey report:
The top three companies most admired by CE experts for the customer experience they deliver are technology companies, with Apple ranking first, followed by Amazon and Zappos.
“Apple has married all the elements of its experience and connected with its customers in a deeply emotional, irrational way,” said Walden, adding, “Amazon put a stake in the ground when it announced it would become the world’s most customer-centric company, and Zappos claims to be a customer service organization that happens to sell shoes.”
“Well-established CRM technologies allow these companies to use the data they collect to deliver a highly-personalized experience,” said Walden. “But there’s something more inherent to the way these leaders deliver the experience; they use the copious data they collect to truly understand customers and their motivations in order to deliver a satisfying experience in a meaningful way.”
Other companies ranking in the top 10 most admired for customer experience include, in descending order: Starbucks (retail), Disney (entertainment), Tesco (retail), Virgin Atlantic(aviation), Vodafone (telecom), Nordstrom (retail) and First Direct (banking).

Apple To Definitely Announce iPhone5 In October

"https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW5Je0KkZOMOjvergpk_3oZRt4ATfcddNBQUJoN2C_rb_DVUvd7ZgDIu0QKd1d_jfR5_LFc9FogKtMWROx0QzCTpGb8ViyDY994-94Aa3NvN8GYd6wYMRq8yF44CnqKY8ko2CfvnznB-7R/s200/fittosize_640_0_01bfbc721d73c53e22a5b850235e0408_iphone_tim_cook_ap.jpeg" width

Game of Chance iPhone Apps

The iPhone industry is at its technology peak these days. Even though the odds are slight that you’ll get bombarded on the head (1 in 3,200), unless you’re underground, most of the remains could easily slice through the roof of any common building…
But do not lose the hope, despite endangering our lives, NASA has also thought about the solution- the satellite tracking app for your iDevices that is available in App Store for FREE! Users can access NASA countdown clocks, image of the Day, online videos, NASA’s Twitter feeds and the most important- the NASA App also provides three different views to allow users to track the current positions of the International Space Station and other spacecraft currently orbiting Earth!
The question is whether NASA had known about the possible catastrophe before, or the app has just been developed for curious sky gazers. Anyway, as several hours are remaining before the UARS falling satellite reaches the earth, go and get the NASA App to increase your odds of avoiding the satellite falling on you.

Create Unforgettable Memories with WatchMeChange

An innovative app by MJH, WatchMeChange allows you to watch family and friends’ faces changing through quick pictures the user snaps each day, automatically positioning the photos into aright order and creating short time lapse video. The app is quite simple- all you have to do is to snap a pic of yourself or your beloved ones daily, and the rest is done by WatchMeChange!

Despite the face version, there are a weight loss and pregnancy versions available, taking full body shots and allowing you to track your weight or how far along you are in your pregnancy. Request for Apple's devices in China has climbed since the company introduced its iPhone4 in the country last September. For the first three months of 2011, iPhone sales in China saw upsurge of almost 250%.
Apple's iPad has also leads China's tablet market, with a 74% of market share, according to Beijing-based research firm Analysis International. Demand for the Apple devices has been so high that illegal resellers in China have produced fake Apple stores by using the company's logos to embellish their shops. Officials have already reacted by cracking down on the fake stores in one city.
Apple has said formerly it would open total 25 stores in China in two years’ time. But the pace of store introductions so far has been much sluggish and focused on China's major cities. Apple's latest store in Shanghai will be the company's largest one in the country.

iPhone5 Breaking Apple Tradition

Apple’s iPhone 5 occasion on Oct. 4 will occur at the company’s Cupertino campus, not in San Francisco where all the preceding iPhones and iPads have been publicized. As is the practice with the mysterious Cupertino company, Apple’s not saying anything about the forthcoming presentation of its latest iPhone, but rendering All Things D’s “sources close to the company,” the earth’s first look at the latest smartphone will be at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium, instead of the customary Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) or as part of Macworld or WWDC at San Francisco’s Moscone Center.
Afar that gossips, the motives for such a change in venue are purely hypothetical. It’s speculated that conceivably the new Apple CEO Tim Cook doesn’t care for the echoing YBCA, instead opting for a more acquainted, smaller and intimate place closer to home. Maybe the Wi-Fi or cellular data bandwidth is more consistent on the Cupertino campus, letting Apple to better reveal its wares and us media types to more successfully show our still photos and live blogs of the event. Maybe the reality misrepresentation field is more influential there.
Away from the location of the event, with the new management of CEO Cook, there are guaranteed to be some changes in the Apple way of presenting products. For example, we can daydream about a live streaming video feed of the event, not overriding any of the live and occasionally amusing remarks from various bloggers, but improving them with a live graphic record for all to see.
One thing’s unquestionable: Apple’s remarkable confidentiality rests intact, promising billions of dollars’ worth of free advertising leading up to the event.

Not Enough iPhone 5’s At Launch

Apple won’t have sufficient amount of iPhone 5’s at unveiling – actually a need of panic! Rendering industry sources, by the reason of a manufacturing fault at a plant belonging to Apple’s subcontractor company Wintek, there potentially will be fewer iPhone 5 units transported to the USA than it was initially intended.
Conferring to DigiTimes, air bubbles in iPhone 5’s LCD screen lid were the definite defect that Apple had to treat with.
The company planned to ship 25-26 million units of the iPhone 5 in the fourth quarter of 2011, while WinTek had to provide around 25% of the LCD sensor units. Obviously this won’t be happening now, so depending on demand Apple might not have enough units available for every person who’s looking forward to upgrade.
Apple’s iPhone 5 is projected to be introduced in October 2011.

iPad Live 75: Big @$$ tablet

Now Sprint doesn’t have an iPhone (yet?) so if you’re on Medium Yellow and you need a phone this week then the Galaxy S II is hard to beat. If you’re on AT&T, however, you have a tougher decision to make — namely iPhone 4 today, or perhaps iPhone 5 next month vs. the AT&T Galaxy S II.

Since we don’t live in the future, however, if really you really need that phone today, which should you get?

Hardware

iPhone 4 is compact, with a 3.5 Retina Display (960×640 IPS LCD) screen, stainless steel antenna band, and glass on both sides. It’s as much object d’art as mobile device, and some 15 months later it’s still one of the best designed, best manufactured, best finished devices on the planet. The AT&T Galaxy S II isn’t the almost obscene behemoth that Sprint has released, but at 4.3 inches and 800×480 pixels of Super AMOLED Plus, it’s by no means small — though it’s considerably less than dense than iPhone or even some other Android devices. Even the plastic feels slightly better on the new generation of Galaxy. It’s still Hasbro, but it’s the higher-end Hasbro.

While iPhone 4 has a great 5 megapixel rear camera with nice, big, photon-friendly sensor that also shoots 720p video, the Galaxy S II will do 8mp with 1080p.

3G vs. 4G

iPhone 4 uses AT&T’s 3G network with support for 7.2mbps HSPA downloads. The Galaxy II S uses AT&T’s so-called 4G network with support for — what, 14.4mbps? — HSPA+ downloads. In real life, will you see a difference? Hey, insert AT&T network joke here.

Galaxy S II wins in a pinch, but it’s only by a pinch.

iOS vs. Android

While iOS 5 is just around the corner, we haven’t rounded that corner yet so we can only base this on the current version available, iOS 4.3. It’s well polished, highly functional, and addresses previously lacking features multitasking, folder organization, FaceTime video calls, personal hotspot, and other features. Check out our complete iOS 4 walkthrough for more.

The Galaxy S II is running Android Gingerbread 2.3.4. You also get TouchWiz on top of that, which might look litigiously iPhone like, and could be a plus or a minus depending on your tastes. Still, Gingerbread is powerful, flexible and begins to address issues of consistency and UI polish. See Android Central for more on Gingerbread

Both iOS and Android handle Google services very well, though Android has more of them, including Google Navigation. However, only iOS gets Apple software and services.

Apps vs. Apps

Apple still technically has more apps in the iPhone app store than Google does in the Android Market, but the truth is most of the types of apps you’re likely to want are available for both platforms.

iPhone apps tend to look better and provide a better user experience but Android apps tend to be able to do more and offer more options.

Accessories

iPhone 4 has been on the market approaching 15 months so there’s a ton of accessories available for it (just check out the TiPb Store for a taste of what’s available). Plus it ties into the massive iTunes and Apple ecosystems. Chances are you can find everything from the perfect case to peripherals that will check your blood or fly your toy helicopter.

Because Galaxy S II is so new and there are so many different Android phones, you can still find the basics but it will take a while for more accessories to show up and they’ll fade faster when the next big Android phones splashes down in a few weeks (keep and eye on the Android Central store to see what I mean. (Given the success of previous iPhones, that’s no faint praise).

Here’s what Android Central had to say about the Galaxy S II:

Here’s the bottom line: The Galaxy S II is easily the fastest, thinnest and lightest Android smartphone you can get.

By now you’ve read our Epic 4G Touch review. (If not, go ahead. We’ll wait. … OK. Ready?) Much of what you read there stands for AT&T’s version. They both have the same 1.2GHz processor and 1GB (more or less) of RAM, and so they pretty much feel the same in our initial use.

So if you’re in the US and on AT&T, and you need a phone now, today, and are trying to decide between iPhone 4 and Galaxy S II, which should you get?

If you want the elegance of iOS and don’t want to fuss around, if you want it to just work, if you want the biggest choice possible of apps and accessories — as long as Apple approves them, if you want to stay in the iTunes ecosystem, and you want it wrapped up in what’s arguably still the most solid, most iconic hardware on the market, get an iPhone 4 and enjoy.

If you want the sheer power of Android and like to tinker, if you want the latest, greatest specs on the market — for the moment — if you want to be able to customize without having to hack your phone, and if you want a big phone with big functionality, get the Galaxy S II.

However, if you can wait, if October isn’t too far away for you, then hold off a few weeks.
There are hundreds of thousands of iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad apps for just about everything — so how come the one you need, the one you know just has to be there, is so hard to find? Enter TiPb’s new weekly feature where staff and readers alike sort through the App Store and help you find just the right App for That. This week, RogerL asks:

I’m still using my Palm Treo and The Core Pocket Media Player to play my swimming, golf swing and Tai Chi training video clips in slow motion. Was hoping to move to the iPhone to use the bigger better screen.
Do you know of an iPhone video player that can play back slower than 50%?

To see what we found for Roger, follow along after the break!

VideoPix: Video Frame Capture & Slow Motion Player [$0.99 - App Store link] is an iPhone and iPad app that allows you to slow down video playback to 1 fps.
The easiest way to access video files for VideoPix is through the iPhone or iPad’s Photos app, but there’s a good chance that Roger does not have his above mentioned videos stored there. Luckily, VideoPix also allows you to import videos with iTunes File Sharing (providing they are in MP4 or MOV format).
Anyone else have any App for That suggestions for Roger? Let him — and all of us — know.
Having trouble finding what you need in the app store? Head on over to our App and Game Feature Forum and let us know what you’re looking for. The TiPb community will do our best to find you just the right App for That!

30 Best iPhone Apps in 2011

The 30 Best iPhone Apps So Far This Year.

1.

Well, there's been so much to talk about on the new iPhone that we're actually impressed Apple had that much to update on this iteration of the smartphone.
From HD video recording to a completely new shape, it's intriguing to see record-breaking numbers queuing up to pick up this device – but after playing with it for a few days, you can see why.
We liked
Well, we liked nearly everything on the iPhone 4. The main thing we enjoyed is the fact the interface is still so slick, as nothing beats the fact the phone reacts to your slightest touch.
The gyroscope is beyond awesome on a phone of this size, or on a phone at all come to think of it.
The battery life has been well extended to work long enough to not hate your phone any more, which is a welcome boost, and the camera and video recorder have been updated more than adequately to consider them actual replacements for the cameras and camcorders.
The Retina Display is really something else to look at, and we're even starting to like the sharp angles of the chassis – although we're still not huge fans.
The App Store is still brilliant, and will continue to get brilliant-er, and things like Google Maps offer a superb mapping experience.
We disliked
Why, why did the reception problem have to happen Apple? If it wasn't for that, this would have been head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to smartphone functionality. Nothing can come close on paper.
The price is also ridiculously high - £600 for a phone is amazing, and more so when you think thousands, yes, thousands of people queued up in the UK alone to pick up one of these the second it was released.
The HTC Desire costs less than £400, is free on £30 a month deals, where the iPhone costs £170 plus the contract too.
We appreciate the sheer amount of tech and design packed into the iPhone 4, but that's still a LOT to shell out for a phone.
Verdict
Trust us, we've gone back and forth over the star rating to give the iPhone 4 - it's been tricky.
Put it this way: if we didn't have to switch hands to browse the internet at any given moment, this phone would have been five stars, hands down. Apart from the fact your own skin makes you lose all 3G connectivity, there's pretty much nothing wrong with this phone.
And if you're still lusting after an iPhone, don't worry - this is by no means a reason not to buy it. Like we said, we had no dropped calls during our tests, and that's a big improvement on previous iterations - it was the internet browsing that got us.
Is it better than the 3GS? Yes - by a country mile. Is it better than the HTC Desire? In some ways yes, in some ways no... the iPhone 4 hits higher points but thanks to the reception issue hits lower points too.
Essentially it comes down to a straight choice: are you interested in the geek chicness of the rapidly-improving Android, or are you all over the slick iPhone eco-system?
You won't be disappointed by the iPhone 4 by any means - if you're happy to spend nearly £200 more on a phone and are willing to wiggle your hand a little bit then this phone will delight for the next couple of years.

iPhone 4 review : Official Gallery

Another big plus for the iPhone 4 is, despite being the thinnest smartphone ever created, the battery life hasn't suffered. Far from it, as Steve Jobs actually reckons it can last 40% longer despite the smaller chassis size.
And you know what - he may actually be (sort of) telling the truth here. Seasoned iPhone professional users will know that to use a couple of applications, watching a 30 mins of video, downloading new apps, run music through Bluetooth and also keep opening and closing it to perform other tasks is a real battery sucker, and usually means your iPhone won't see out the day.

Well, doing just that sat at our desk, we actually found that in a seven hour period, the battery only dropped 50%. It might sound a little drastic, but over the course of the day, when you're using the phone a lot less, this works out to be a much nicer figure to work with.
We actually found we didn't need to carry around a charger all the time when we were using an iPhone 4 - and even if you forget to plug it in at night, it won't be until sometime the following day it completely shuts down, which you have to applaud when you see how thin the chassis is here.
Of course, this isn't the all-encompassing fix we've all been waiting for in smartphones, as a simple hour's commute with push email, music and the camera all in use will drop things by about 10%, but that's not standard use.

This is helped by an all-new processor, the Apple A4 effort that's really good at not sucking down too much power even when performing those pesky multi-tasking tasks. We're impressed with Apple, as its iPhone range has gone from one of the worst on battery life to at least one of the better ones.
Connectivity
The iPhone is, as you'd expect, jam-packed with functionality. You've got an upgraded Wi-Fi chipset in there to now cater for the faster 802.11n hubs, and of course we're treated to GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and A2DP as well as the normal HSDPA and 3.5mm headphone slot.
The Bluetooth is impressive as ever too - simply search for and pair with a Bluetooth headset, and whenever the iPhone 4 finds that unit broadcasting a signal in the future it will connect automatically - which makes it much easier to use.

The GPS, as we mentioned earlier is lightning fast, but it's a real shame about the reception issues with the data - we really thing the signal dropping is going to annoy a lot of people when they've shelled out so much money for a new phone.
It keeps us linked to our business, our family and our friends. It isn’t just a phone. If something happens to our phone to render it unreachable, we go into panic mode. Here are ten ways to care for your iPhone to retain it safe and functioning properly.
1.Don’t leave it in your car. Cars are not a good place to leave your iPhone, even for short periods of time. Temperature limits of hot and cold can damage your device. Hot temperatures can particularly be magnified inside of a vehicle.
2.Avoid high moisture areas. Bathrooms, enclosed swimming pools and other high damp areas can cause water damage to cellphones much faster than you might recognize. Leave your cellphone behind when you enter these kinds of areas where the air is thick with moisture.
3.Drying it out. If your iPhone should get unprotected to moisture, take the back off and remove the battery as soon as possible. To captivate the moisture, place the phone in a container of uncooked rice. Immerse the phone totally in the rice and seal the container. If no rice is available, let the phone air dry for a day before trying to operate it again.
4.Use display protectors. The surface of your iPhone can easily become scratched and marred- you should already have learned it from one of our posts. Guard it with transparent film protection sheets. Change the sheet every few months. You can even bring your phone into your local cellphone carrier and have it renewed for you.
5.Keep it in a hard case. Purchasing a hard case to snap your iPhone into is a wise investment. The case will take the punishment of abuse instead of the phone itself.
6.Car chargers. Car chargers are a great convenience, but they shouldn’t be your primary charger. You should also disconnect your iPhone from the car charger when you are starting or shutting off the car to avoid injuring it with power surges.
7.Battery indicator. At times cellphones will appear to be losing their charge more rapidly than normal, when, in reality, it is the battery life pointer just giving a false alarm. To spot on this situation, let your phone battery to go thorough dead before recharging. After doing this a couple of times, the indicator should be reset and start action correctly again.
8.Don’t overload. Your iPhone is a mini-storage device and has a restricted amount of memory. If you find your browser or apps freezing, you may be reaching your memory limits. If there are apps that you don’t use, removing them from your iPhone on a regular basis can free up more memory.
9.Don’t overcharge. It is suggested that you remove your phone from the charger once it reaches a full charge, or else shut the phone down when charging the phone. Leaving a fully charged phone plugged into the charger and turned on can lead to overheating.
10.Be aware of placement. Many iPhones are injured because of being set down on a hood or roof of an automobile, and then forgetting it there when the owner drives away. An iPhone moving loosely in a handbag is also subject to ‘battering’ by other items in the bag. Keeping your device in a separate pocket of a handbag is much favored.
Maybe you’ve already experienced any of the situations listed above. We all agree that it is simply a common sense, but most of us find it hard to learn from others’ mistakes, unless they suffer all on their own...
via PhoneService

Hard and Soft Reset on iPhone 4

Most of us have faced a situation when our smart iPhone 4 becomes unresponsive and cannot be switched on, no matter what we do. The first most important tip is not to get furious, and then try to perform a reset on your iDevice.
A reset can be done in two ways; you can try either a hard, or a soft reset of your iPhone4.
The first one to try implies following steps: you press and hold the Sleep/Wake button together with a Home button of your iPhone 4. In about 10 seconds of holding, an Apple logo should appear on the screen.
