It is similar to Quicksilver, but extends the capabilities to include search results from the web. GQS is developed by Nicholas Jitkoff, who also developed QuickSilver.

Search results include those from web, Google accounts and your own computer. While I do not see Google Quick Search replacing Quicksilver on my Mac right now, it certainly would be a strong contender once it is out of testing(it is only a prototype as of now).
