As the hardware and possibilities offered by different platforms are very much similar, the differences boil down to software. Even in the specialized field of greeting cards there are dozens of applications for both Android and iOS, offering similar functionality of varying degrees of sophistication.

iOS App You Can’t Go Wrong With

When it comes to greeting cards, you have several choices on Apple’s platform. One of the most well received and versatile applications is Red Stamp. Available free of charge, it offers a wide variety of options for making and sending out greeting cards. While several other applications offer the ability to send greeting cards through traditional mail, Red Stamp stands out as particularly well suited for the task, as the prices start at $0.99. Of course, you can also send them in digital format via Facebook or e-mail.However, if you’re looking for a more expensive, but higher quality option, then you might want to opt for Apple’s own Cards application. Although the prices are pretty steep ($2.99 for domestic mail, $4.99 for international), postcards created through Cards come on high quality paper. The program also enables you to send them off to up to 12 recipients. Although it is hardly a budget option, if you want to send out cards that are of really high quality, this might be the option for you.

The Android Options (Multiplatform to Boot)

If you prefer something that works on multiple platforms, then you might want to consider Sincerely Ink. Available for iOS (both iPad and iPhone) as well as Android devices, it gives you more than a hundred customizable designs using, like the above Appleexclusive applications, your own photographs as input. The prices are generally mid-ranged. Sending out your postcards via the program costs $1.99 within the United States and $2.99 outside of it. Another interesting options is the Touchnote application. Created by an English company, it offers a light, intuitive interface and several options when it comes to creating your greeting cards. Although a little sparse on the image editing front, requiring a steadyhand for taking photos, it’s a very interesting option for those with lots of friends outside the United States. Postcards and greeting cards are paid for using credits (1 and 2 credits respectively), which are priced at $1.49 per credit. Although it might seem a little steep, the postage costs are included in the price, which remains the same for both domestic and international mail. In other words, you pay $2.98 tops for international posting.

Which Platform is Better?

When it comes to choosing the applications you want to use for sending out greeting cards, all of the above applications offer similar performance and options. It becomes a matter of preference and, well, money. For example, if you have a lot of friends and family living outside the United States, you might want to consider the multi-platform options, as they make it cheaper to send them abroad. For domestic uses, Red Stamp might be considered better, as its $0.99 price tag for postcards is quite advantageous.

While it doesn’t possess a lot of flair or flash, it’s a solid and reliable device that gets the job done. The Spectrum has a decent camera, decent battery life and a pretty decent display. In all, it’s pretty decent, but nothing more and not much less. If you’re looking for a modestly-priced Android smartphone with LTE capabilities (compared to the $300 monsters being released these days), the $199.99 LG Spectrum fits the bill. I do have a few issues with it, however, such as the slippery casing and its sometimes slow UI, but it will be a great phone for many users. Or perhaps just good enough.
For quite some time, the Blackberry was the most popular smartphone for business owners. However, Forrest Research discovered that more than 35 percent of business owners have transferred over to the Android platform. This does not include the freelancers and hobby businesses. The 2012 Nielsen Company reports discovered that among the top three smartphones Android ranked at the highest level among business owners. One of the reasons for this increase in popularity is from the wide variety of applications that you can download to make the most of your business. One of the most common reasons that you will need a good smartphone is to handle note taking and document preparation. Here are some of the best apps when it comes to handling that. Papyrups While there is a great deal of competition for Android note taking applications, Papyrus is one of the most popular. It ranks at 4.5 stars at Google Play. What makes it so popular is that it allows you to handwrite your notes. Most require that you have a stylus, but this particular application allows you to do it with your finger.

Papyrups

While there is a great deal of competition for Android note taking applications, Papyrus is one of the most popular. It ranks at 4.5 stars at Google Play. What makes it so popular is that it allows you to handwrite your notes. Most require that you have a stylus, but this particular application allows you to do it with your finger. The notes are saved, and they can then be transmitted to the Cloud and accessed in any online system. This makes it easy for you share your notes without having to typing.

Ever Note

It just wouldn’t be a complete list of essential Android note taking and document preparation applications without mentioning Ever Note. Ever Note is one of the most powerful and flexible. IMedicalApps listed it as the most powerful and essential document and text application available. It has a bit of a learning curve. You will have to go through the user guide, but you will be able to use it for just about any note taking or document need that you have. Text marketing, adobe document preparation, report organization, and more can easily be done using the features available on your Ever Note. The best part, of course, is that its free. Once you get the learning curve down, you will be able to handle just about everything. Just bear in mind that there are a lot of different options that you will need to learn.

Color Note

Handling text and message preparation can be quite challenging. However, it’s even worse when you’re struggling with dyslexia. All of the little points and buttons can be hard to strike. However, it’s much harder for colors to switch than it is for general letters and numbers. So Color Note incorporates the basic note taking application functions with color coded commands. You can organize everything by color. The basic texts are put in black ink, but you can change this. More importantly, you can use a number of different color coding techniques to make it easier to find out what needs to be done. While working to reduce eye strain and dyslexic switchings, this application is remarkably streamlined. You can customize the size, but it will generally adapt to fit your screen.

You can download applications for every aspect of your business, but one set that you should make sure that you pay particular attention to are the ones that will help to protect your business.

My Back Up Pro

Your Android is filled with enormous amounts of vital information. Maybe even millions of entries from your day to day activities and business contacts. Think about all of that information. Your dates, your bookmarks, applications you don’t necessarily use every day, and plenty of notes and stickies to keep you on task. What would you do if you lose all of these? You can save much of this off through Cloud technology, but My Back Up Pro takes it a step further. It saves everything from your Android automatically. It draws from both the SD card and the internal memories. This information is then backed up into their cloud program so that you can access it later if you need to. You can even transport it right back into your new device if anything happens to permanently damage your Android.

Intern Match

Another important thing about running a business is making sure that you have the help that you need. It’s always great when you can connect this with giving back to the business community, and one of the ways that you can do this is through using recruiting tools to get interns who will receive on-the-job training and prepare to become part of the business community. Intern Match is one of the best recruiting applications on Android because it lets you put in what you need specifically. You don’t have to pay the interns, although you should be prepared to invest time in mentoring.

Locale

One of the most important commodities that you have in your business is time. It’s the one thing that you can’t actually get more of if you lose it. The Locale application is not a free application, but it is remarkable. It helps you to protect your time by allowing you to set aside times in advance when your Android settings should change. For instance, you can have it set up so that your phone automatically switches to vibrate for certain calls or that the phone goes into sleep mode so that you are not disturbed. This way, you can set aside quiet time for yourself or go into a business meeting. The other beneficial aspect of this is that you can also set it up for variable times. It does this through synchronizing with Google Maps and GPS technology. The Locale application will let calls and texts come through for those times only. After that, it automatically shuts off. The application costs approximately $10 for your lifetime license. Despite this, it has received high marks from sites like All Business and Business Insider. You can easily take advantage of this application as you prepare for the day.

Special Enquiry Detail: Engaged To Kill Review Continuing the CSI style theme that worked so well for its predecessor, Special Enquiry Detail: Engaged to Kill is a highly enjoyable if somewhat easy Hidden Object style game. Following the trail of a particularly gruesome serial killer, Special Enquiry Detail: Engaged to Kill still finds the time to include some entertaining one-liners and a dose of black humor, just like CSI. Within the six chapters of gameplay, there’s plenty of variety too. Some investigation of crime scenes is required to find special items to proceed, as well as simple interviewing of witnesses and suspects. Each chapter is broken up by a comic-book style expansion of the story. Of course, there are more typical elements such as Hidden Object scenes and plenty of mini-games, with each working suitably well. The Hidden Object scenes are quite complicated at times with cluttered scenes plentiful, but these benefit from penalty-free tapping, as well as unlimited hints without punishment. The individual objects themselves tend to be reasonably straight-forward to recognise, with only a handful of cryptic clues. The mini-games can be quite taxing but, again, they come with a skip puzzle button so it’s as challenging as one feels like. Most of the time, these puzzles and Hidden Object scenes tie in quite neatly with the theme of the game so they rarely feel thrown in for the sake of it. For a Hidden Object or Casual Gaming fan, Special Enquiry Detail: Engaged to Kill is an essential purchase. Unusually, for everyone else, it’s still a very worthy title to check out. It might be a little easy but it offers a selection of what the genre does best.
