Today, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite places to go when you’re looking for a fun adventure to a state park. Remember to check weather conditions and if places are open before heading on out. And while you’re here, be sure to check out the stunning apartments we have to offer throughout the beautiful state of Nevada.

1) Rye Patch State Park

Located near Lovelock, Nevada, Rye Patch State Park is a 22-mile long reservoir. There’s a 72 mile of shoreline where you can camp and picnic. Here you can also swim and water-ski. And for those who want to do some fishing, this is a great spot to check out. When you’re looking for a break from the water, head out on one of the many trails around the park to see some of the wildlife. Like hawks, eagles, antelope, and fox.

2) Cave Rock State Park

Cave Rock State Park sits atop the Sierra Nevada mountain range, tucked along the southeastern shore of Lake Tahoe. You’ll find that this is a great place to put in a boat and to explore the beautiful water of the largest alpine lake in North America. Spend some time at the small beach at the south end of the park, where you can swim and even snorkel.

3) South Fork State Recreation Area

This state park is located near Spring Creek, Nevada, making it an easy and fun weekend adventure. Whether you’re looking for camping or fishing and swimming, South Fork State Recreation Area is the perfect stop for those in the northeastern part of the state. While you spend your time in the water, keep an eye out for the local wildlife, like mule deer, beavers, and kit foxes. And if you want to do some fishing, you’ll find there is a wide variety of fish to be caught. Like catfish, bass and even trophy size trout.

4) Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park

If you’re looking to explore an old ghost town of Nevada, then Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park should be your next stop. Here you can explore many of the town’s original buildings as well as see some of the original residents in the town’s cemetery. Follow the trails through town to learn the story of Berlin and its mine. But while you’re there, you’ll also want to check out the largest known remains of Ichthyosaurs, an ancient marine reptile. See the fossils in the park’s Fossil House.

5) Ward Charcoal Ovens

Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park is situated in the Egan Mountain Range, near Ely, Nevada. This Park features six beehive shaped charcoal ovens that were used to help process rich silver ore from the area. Today, you can explore the ovens. While also enjoying some camping and picnicking. You can also get some hiking in while you explore the nearby areas filled with beautiful landscape and a rich mining history.
