It is our goal to provide services to our community that will benefit the cultural makeup of our neighbors. The demographic in our targeted area of Hawthorne, between Rosecrans and El Segundo blvd within the square area between Inglewood and Hawthorne, is a largely hispanic and asian community. Offering the ESL program will increase the opportunity for our neighbors to learn English and become better acquainted with the language and in turn increase their chances of landing a better job.

We are in the planning stages of this program… so as soon as things become set in stone, we will update the website. However, if you have any questions or concerns, or would like to speak to someone about how things will take place feel free to contact us.

Raymon Alvarado is a freshman at Lawndale High School and currently on the freshman football team. It is a privilege to know Raymon for as long as I have, and to think about how we started to build our friendship was neat. I was Raymon’s sister’s, (the wonderful Mary), teacher in middle school and became close to their family.

So summer of 2002, I was helping out Coach Murphy Su’a (current Cal. State Dominguez Hills baseball head coach) coach his summer collegiate team, the South Bay Saints. That summer I heard that Raymon was into playing baseball so I invited him over to a baseball camp at DHills. From there we became good friends as he tagged along as I was assitant coach that summer. Raymon became our bat boy and enjoyed his time on the field. He helped out with the maintenance of the field, which exemplified the work ethic of being diligent and responsible. After every home game Raymon would ensure the dugouts were clean and no trash was left behind. He was a great young boy for his age.

Raymon would accompany me to my various events that I was involved in. Later that year I became involved in the music industry and Raymon would be my helper at the various shows I made appearances at. His hardwork and savvy won him many friends as we played in various cities. Raymon to this day is much loved amongst his friends and family, and of course with APX Mentoring! We congratulate Raymon for being our featured student of the month!

God bless you Raymon and may you continue in your great work!
