The show started at 8:00 and we were the fourth act to grace the stage. The bands before us were pretty good, they had a distinct LA rock vibe and we knew this was our chance to show the city what we are made of. As our show was about to begin we were all a little nervous because it was obvious that we weren’t playing to our usual crowd of insane ballistic Arrowheads that we have come to know and love.

We started the set with all the intensity we could muster, the crowed was instantly captivated, you could see the change much like a Ware wolf during a full moon. Then like out of thin air an old friend and longtime fan shows up with a rowdy bunch of Archer fans and begins the usual, singing along, screaming, jumping around, moshing, going balls to the wall and finishing with a third world chant that makes the world cup look weak. The show escalated into all out metal madness 45 minutes of gut busting guitar powerful vocals intensely technical bass and thundering drums, it was a good night!

One of many more to come, and one that proves that live music is where it’s at. It’s where you have no excuses for your abilities, a place where you cant hide behind a computer and pro tools, a proving ground for which bands really want to make it. We want to thank our fans, a loyal Nation of Arrowheads for being there when it counts most, at the shows in the crowd singing along and supporting the cause. Thank you for being a part of the Archer Nation!!!

We all knew this would be sick There were many of our idols in attendance including such ledgends as Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Rob Halford, The Immortal Ronnie James Dio, Slash, Lemmy, Dave grohl and so many more it would be hard to complete the list, we grabbed a cab from our hotel and headded to the show. When we arrived there was pandimonium there was a black carpet tons of paparazzi and a steady stream of metal gods entering the area. It was quite an experience being right there with them and we are stoked to be privlaged enough to check out a show like this for the first time.

Next we moved inside where the show really began, we had some sick VIP passes and a table where you could hang that included all the vodka you could drink. The show began as ledgendary WWE wrestler Chris Jericho took the stage as one of the two hosts of the event and invited out the first act, Slash. The band started up slowly building momentum in their three song set and then during the fourth song Slash invited out Motorhead’s Lemmy as a guest vocalist, things started to heat up. Then for the fifth and final song of the opening set they brought Lemmy a bass and Dave Grohl took over the drums and one of the sickest renditions of the Ace Of Spades poured out from the stage, that set ruled.

One of the most eventful things in my eyes that night was when Ozzy took the stage to announce an award for Rob Halford and he recieved a standing ovation. As cool as that is the reason I was so excited by that was when I looked around there were metal musicians everywhere many of them stars in their own right and the one that really caught my eye was Vinnie Paul the drummer for Pantera, standing, smiling and clapping proud to see the godfather of metal music still kickin ass after all of these years.

All in all the Golden Gods was a killer event, it’s good to see that the Metal community is trying to stick together and create events like this that bring everyone together in one place to pay homage to the innovators of the past and breath life into the acts of the future!! Archers aim is to not only be at that awards show next year but to be playing on the stage.
