As a retrofit design it was redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway.

Before turning into an elevated park, the railroad way was to be demolished. In 1999, residents Robert Hammond and Joshua David created the group Friends of the High Line to push the idea of turning the High Line into an elevated park or greenway. In 2004 the city of New York established to transform the railroad to a urban park to revive the area.

The building, located on the historic C&O Canal in Georgetown, was designed by Architect Frank Schlesinger and resembles an industrial building converted into loft apartments, with floor to floor ceilings windows to take advantage of it\\\’s unique views. The combination of double-height space and tall windows create some unusual and dramatic interior, suitable for a studio like apartment, the main idea for the couple. The black leather and chrome classical modern design are mixed with antiques, vintage furniture and art works that keeps the apartment alive and contemporary. Everything in the house is full of stories from all over the world.
