Inspired by Tang Bohu, this theater emerges from the ruins, embodying a poetic dialogue between history and contemporary architecture.

The site was originally home to the Xinguang Silk Weaving Factory. The renovated Building No. 5 has now been transformed into a versatile theater, seamlessly integrating Suzhou-style stage performances with medium-sized conferences.

Inspired by the dramatic life of Tang Bohu, we go beyond merely preserving the historical depth of the old building—we breathe new artistic life into it.

Climate urgency, evolving technologies, and a more uncertain professional landscape are pushing schools to ask what kinds of knowledge matter now and what students will actually need in order to act on the futures they are asked to imagine.

Housing the teams of the several luxury brands that make up the OpenAsia Group, topologically located between warehouse and logistic service buildings, the structure will stand enigmatically in the middle of Old Hanoi.

The proposal envisioned the office building as a series of platforms lifted by two cores of concrete; one containing the circulation paths and main services, the second being the support for all documentation so called “the memory wall”. In-between can be found an open space, free of any columns, open widely on both sides to large windows creating unobstructed panoramic rooms across each floor.

This sensation of space brings forth the particularity of the building, in stark contrast to the surrounding density the platforms open to the environment offering users a rare context of open space. These sweeping office areas represent synergies and t...

Opened in July 2023, the space is a beacon for the community, drawing people in by bringing together art, music, and good beer.

Having outgrown their first location, which was primarily production space, the brew area was optimized for the number of tanks and large walk-in-cooler to keep up with the increasing demand. Rather than hiding this process, large glass openings reveal the inner workings of the brewhouse from the street and taproom. Linear lights follow the path of the brew team, and playfully illuminate the stainless steel. Mirroring the display of the brewery activity, a folding nana-wall exposes the energy within the tap room. When open the taproom triples in size blurring the edge of interior and exterior space. Like moths to a flame, both of these moments draw people in.

These hard-working structures now form the foundation of this adaptive reuse project along Seattle’s Ship Canal.

With its robust volumes, ample parking, and nearly 1,000 feet of wharf frontage, the site presented a rare opportunity to reactivate a maritime-industrial edge of the city. The design strategy involved transforming the freezer building’s tilt-up concrete structure by surgically removing panels and replacing them with large expanses of glass and metal paneling to bring light, ventilation, and views into the interior.

Inside, new mezzanine floors constructed from steel and mass timber insert a second level into the 22-foot-tall volume. A central "zipper" of skylights and glass cuts through the building, bringing daylight deep into the core. The result is a flexible, tenant layout—tailored for m...
