Yet despite that fact, I have received this morning – don’t worry, they go straight to voicemail so nobody woke me at 5am.

The messages came from the same number (818 area code) and sound to be in Mandarin but that’s just a guess from watching too many kung-fu movies.

]]> The final book in our library roundup is a wonderfully written story about a boy and his toy dinosaurs. What makes this so nice is that it doesn't just tell you the "facts" of the story but requires the listener/audience to think about what's being said.

For example there is a part where the older sister teases the boy about his lost dinosaurs "and that's how Sam's book got milk on the pages". The illustration shows a bowl of cereal spilled over her head and an upset Harry being pulled away by his shocked mother.

My only criticism is that Sam refers to Stupid old dinosaurs which is not a word we like to encourage (stupid, that is. We're OK with the word dinosaurs) I simply replace it with "Silly" old dinosaurs which also keeps Corbin from interrupting with "she shouldn't say that".
