I started MTGFeeds in 2009, by then my interests where somewhat different then they are today. I had my own hosting & worked on that hosting for various projects, so adding MTGFeeds there was pretty straightforward. As time passed, I got less & less interested in webdesign, so in time my webserver would only be used by MTGFeeds. I got funded by donations of you guys - the community. They kept the feed going for 3 years, mostly thanks to a generous donation of Yeago of TappedOut.net - all the other years were paid by me, and with my no-ad policy this wasn't a very viable businessplan, if ever there was one. I never wanted profit for this site, but in the end I also didn't want it to become a burden moneywise.

BUT HEY - PROGRESS.

Nowadays there are tons of free services. Such as Heroku, the only thing costing me money atm is my domain name. And I think I can manage that, yes. :)

I tried fixing the old setup of MTGFeeds on Heroku, but Heroku said no. My current database holds 25337 posts, which proves quite the archive, it also has become redundant. Don't think much folks are scouring my archives nowadays. Thus - DELETE.

So, out with old - in with the even older atm, I reverted back to the days where MTGFeeds relied on another free service. I remember moving away there because I don't like to rely on other stuff. But hey - it's free, and it does what it's supposed to do. Not in a very fancy way, but still.

What now? I've got my mind set up on learning to program. Whilst it's a slow process, with a daughter - wife and various other time-consuming hobbies. I plan to fix my own MTGFeeds someday, in the meantime, the current setup will work just fine.

Bärbyhällan has brought us a strange night. We got awakened in the middle of the night by Cptn Allan or should I say, Cthulhu's minion. Cptn Allan sat straight up and started mumbling some incomprehensive language - Cthulhu's tongue for sure. Probably some kind of warning.

In the morning we heard strange noises coming from the rocks. Apparently Cptn Thomasson got possessed during the night by some Cthulhu witch as he was vomiting all over the place. The rocks were painted yellow that morning. The rest of the quintet set sail for Kärth. The trip went smooth with some light drizzle coming from the North. We made a brief stop between Isön & Aspön. No monsters there.

Meanwhile the clouds were gathering above us. We arrived at Kärth only to find it was already a campsite for locals - a friendly couple which showed us where to hunt. We've managed to catch 2 monsters, but in the process Cthulhu claimed another two of our baits. It was only because of the giant wasp nest behind the cabin, that we had to leave this dream island. We could not lose Cptn Allan for a couple of monsters.

After 2 hours we set sail to Vedfjärden. Apparently the passage at Vedön was impenetrable. The wind was getting stronger and Cthulhu was playing tricks with our minds. Cptn Dietrich found a bottle of Wolfbane juice - the bottle went dry and our spirits were boosted. Vedön's maze finally came to it's end when we discovered the landmark of Käringön, via Aspön we set forth to Bärbyhällan. Everyone was getting exhausted by this 12000 miles trip across the Färnebofjärden Sea. As soon as Bärbyhällan was in sight, we saw Cptn Thomasson standing amidst the rocks. A large flashing light was coming from his eyes and mouth as we saw Cthulhu's witch leave his body. He had won the battle!

We celebrated at the fire, had some noodles, fried eggs and wolf's blood for dinner. The monsters were a tasty snack. Meanwhile Cptn Thomasson's magic box made strange noises. Probably chantings from aeons ago.

Tomorrow we set sail South, we can only hope for bigger monsters.

Arcum Dagsson

Svenska | 2

Day 2

The bait didn’t work last night, we had some carouselle for dinner and got wasted as hell. The stoneforge’s fire reached for the sky. We got awakened by the soaring roar of the stoneforge breaking. Cptn Allan started extinguishing the fire and Cptn Thomasson saved our asses from an imposing shrapnelblast. We started packing, had some muesli for breakfast and went on our way. At noon we reached Grasholmama - no luck there, Cthulhu claimed another 2 of our baits. We pushed through to make camp at Bärbyhällan. We fished till dusk and still no luck. Had some soup and pasta pesto (which tasted like the insides of a dirty fishbowl) for dinner. This place only offered us haunted fireants and a wooden make-do shelter. Unsure what the night shall bring. The devil’s chardonnay which claimed us last night is back.

Arcum Dagsson

Svenska | 0-1

Suffix

This is the story about 4 men (still acting like boys) going on trip to the uncharted territory also known as Färnebofjärden. This journal serves a single purpose - to remember the cold and wasted nights. As memories fade, this will last through the ages.

Day 0

We’ve arrived at Avesta around 2PM - we decided to move to Färnebofjärden asap. 12km in the wilderness we found Sandon creek. We made camp - ate soup & marshmellows and got pretty wasted - probably because the fatigue was catching on to us like a fire. During the night we got an unexpected prowler on our campsite - the horrific noise could only indicate one thing - the loathed lynx had found us!...

Day 1

The beast didn’t touch anything. We had some oatmeal and black water for breakfast and set out for the hunt asap. The sun came through the clouds and it was time to catch some monsters. Cptn Bartholomew caught the first monster - though small, it would serve a greater purpose during the night. 2 baits were lost today, probably the Cthulhu of which we’ve heard strange tales.

Arcum Dagsson
