His nursery was RAD… full of creative cute details.
I have become such a fan of my client’s nurseries… such time, talent, and creativity take place to bring their vision to life.

If only I was that creative and motivated… sigh, at least I get to photograph them!

This was an atypical, but fun and great, session for me.

You see we didn’t really use any of our props… at all!
I think the only thing we used was the reflector, camera and heater… and of course my lovely assistant Shareen!

Jessica had a vision of doing newborn images in her home with a slight lifestyle feel… something I would like to capture more!

Dodson was a sweetie pie and their home was beautiful!

Jessica is an interior designer and her home was just lovely and warm.

Thank you guys for allowing us to come into your home and love on your precious bundle!

The only man I felt ‘right’ with… I fit with. I understood. I finally knew, what it was supposed to be like… to find the ONE.

Many people feel ‘safe’ ordering 5×7 and 8×10 prints… as they are easy to frame and put on a table or desk.

They are also what we are “used to.”

However for the wall, it’s a much different story – even 11×14 appears very small when put on a wall – especially alone and not combined as a collage.

I just purchased a canvas of my three kiddos.

I haven’t EVER purchased a canvas of my children… I wanted to wait until I had a sweet photo of the three of them.

I decided to go for a 20×30 print and found it to fit perfectly on the wall in my kitchen.

BIGGER is better for photos, especially for wall prints.

Had I gone smaller the canvas would have looked TINY on this already small wall.

It fills the space nicely, without looking too small or too big.

I also think the colors are nice and soft, with my grayish blue and light green kitchen.

Now if only we hadn’t put the light switches that high.

Always think about where you would want prints to fill your home and I can help you choose sizing and style!

 This is an example of a STORY BOARD.

I took these on Parx’ one year birthday – morning! I loved the gorgeous light this field provided at sunrise.

A storyboard allows you to display multiple images as a series – in one print… which you can combine with others.

Notice I paired it with one long image above.

Now, I don’t have my house finished,  these are meant to hang on top of one another rather than displayed on the shelves.

These prints are 10″x20″ matboard prints and framed.

Maxwell is 9 months and as precious as can be!

(a month older than my Baby E!)

They were a beautiful family. Great smiles, bright color, and as easy as pie.

We met at 7:30 am – for a wonderful sunrise session.

It was beautiful out, the sun beamed out beautifully and Maxwell was as happy as a clam.

Looking forward to capturing more babies this age!

She was my cheerleading ‘Big Sis.’
What a doll this gal is… I always remember her being cheery, positive and funny.

She’s the EXACT same girl today, 15 years later!

Last year I was talking to Rachel about fertility.

After trying for three years to conceive, they went through some tests, to see what was going on.

You see she had a bi-cornate uterus, and was UNABLE to get pregnant.
Her little uterus couldn’t hold a baby.

After some surgical processes on of the worst cases the doctor had seen – they were ready to start trying.

Well fast forward a few months and VOILA her sweet little uterus was holding a precious bean!

They’ve been on an emotional and long journey, but every time I spoke to Rachel about it, she seemed up beat and happy…

Seeming to realize that each path has pros and cons, and what is meant to be – will be.

I am so thrilled for them and so excited to see if this baby is a BOY or a GIL!?!?!

Amber and Cody brought her to my home, which provided plenty of light at 10am, by the big sliding door in my kitchen.

Sweet Baby Carly slept so well, though was a bit particular about having her arms where SHE wanted them!

It was a beautiful day and for a beautiful family.

I am grateful to have wonderful clients who will come to me and allow me to love on and pose their new baby bundles of joy.

I used to do little tutorials on my blog along with personal posts, quite often… but these days getting images up for viewing, which is the most important thing I do for my business.

All of that fun stuff, isn’t going to keep my business afloat… especially not in the eyes of my clients or in the back of my mind.

I’m doubtful that anyone really cares about those things like I do, but I surely do enjoy blogging – teaching – sharing… and have little time right now – to do so.

Totally understandable, but hard to fully grasp.

I keep thinking, “When will this get easier?”

I had a newborn session and my girls were staying across the street.

After grabbing them, Parx took out a box of chalk on the front steps – with her (always) wispy and messy hair and her bright colored rain boots!

The girls had a moment of fun. Edie always trying to eat the chalk, while toddler Parker wanted E to have NOTHING to do with “HER” (ie. Pierson’s) chalk.

I was thrilled to be able to capture this on camera.

While they may be messy, snotty, covered in bites and chalk – this is really my life.

These are my girls, who will never remember this colorful moment, but I will.

Capturing life as it happens, is really what my passion is.

I am so grateful to be ‘good’ at doing so.

(and I say that humbly and with gratitude of God’s bearing of gifts for each person on this planet)

It’s funny, because today I am in a hideous mood… apologizing to my assistant for being ‘blah’ and unperky.

I don’t handle stress well, nor do I like the anticipation of weeks ahead.

My calendar has all of these read boxes filled up with duties – and it turns me into a nervous wreck. Silly me.

Perhaps stressed about life, work, answering emails, scheduling sessions, making baseball games, having time to dine and chat with friends, making sure to cook dinners, hiring babysitters, paying for this and that, traveling, and getting EVERYTHING done – in a fair amount of time.

I do NOT want to disappoint my clients… or my family.  Two very important groups in my life!

I hope to not sound ‘whiny’ or as if I am crying out POOR ME… I know there are tons of working mothers out there… who probably feel the exact same way and probably won’t voice their struggles.

How the heck do we do it all and make everyone happy, while keeping your head above water?

There is so much pressure to be and do ALL in 2012.

I just came across this article, about how all our kids want is US. Their parents, snuggle time, opportunities to chalk up the front steps or ride bikes up and down the street together (Pierson and I had fun last night doing so).

Internet is awesome and has helped me in a variety of ways, but it can put pressure on all of us to be ‘awesome’ and better than so and so… keeping up with others on creativity, parenting, health, finances, etc.

It can be quite consuming of your head and heart.

So here is to being content through struggles, successes and making your small dreams and desires – your reality.
