In addition to a variety of presentations on the use of Schoolmaster, there will be a SAIS Reporting Workshop and "Scheduling with Schoolmaster" Workshop. As mentioned in an earlier communication from Schoolmaster’s founder, Dr. John D. Schoolmaster has become a division of Tyler Technologies (www.tylertech.com). Tyler, best known in education for its MUNIS school district accounting software, has 1500 employees and 8000 customers; it is the largest, solely dedicated provider of software and IT services to the public sector in this country.

Kurt Miyatake, longtime Schoolmaster employee, will continue as General Manager of the Schoolmaster development office in Tumwater, Washington and the technical support offices located in Olympia, Washington and Burlington, Iowa. All Schoolmaster employees have been retained in their current positions.

Major System Updates; Versions 5.50d and 1.50d / AZ SAIS Code Verification

Schoolmaster Versions 5.50d and 1.50d include the following change affecting Arizona customers.

- Reporting of Non-numeric SAIS IDs
- Verify PS students have appropriate PS Sped Service Types defined
- Suppression of verification errors for students’ summer withdrawn then enrolled in district situations (1.50d only)
- Suppression of verification errors for students with AZELLA records outside the school enrollment (1.50d only)
- Sending the correct withdrawal date if the student's withdrawal was recorded on the first day after a non-track day

System Updates: Version 5.50d and Version 1.50d

Prior to using an updated system, district and site-based Schoolmaster System Managers, as well as key Schoolmaster operators should review the "Update Memo." This documentation and the installers for Version 5.50d (Network Edition and Stand-alone Systems) and Version 1.50d (District Edition and School Edition) can be found at the following location on our Web site:

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR DISTRICT and SCHOOL EDITION CUSTOMERS: Your Schoolmaster system must be updated to Version 1.50d. Part of the update process will be the replacement of current “Future Scheduling” files. This will allow the files to be exported correctly when you complete “Future” scheduling (e.g., scheduling for school year 08-09).

If you are using Versions 1.50a-c to schedule for Semester 2 of this school year, or have started preliminary scheduling data entry for school year 08-09, contact Schoolmaster Support to discuss options for maintaining your current “Future Schedules” files.

Note for 5.50d (Network Edition) Customers Licensed for Classroom Module: You should also download the update for the Schoolmaster Gradebook.

In addition to the software update(s), System Managers should verify that the latest versions of Online System Help and eManuals (PDF) are installed; download link is located at the bottom of the download page.
