According to sources, the young couple was engaged just last month and initially expected to have a summer wedding. However, 24-year-old Elizabeth decided to change the date of the ceremony because of media attention. 

“Elizabeth’s desire was for what most women want — to celebrate her nuptials in a private wedding with family and close friends,” family spokesman Chris Thomas said in a statement. “She decided, about a week ago, the best way to avoid significant distraction was to change her wedding plans and to get married in an unscheduled ceremony outside of Utah.” 

The couple has planed to go on an extended honeymoon in an undisclosed location. 

Elizabeth Smart disappeared from her bedroom in 2002, according to sources. Smart was found alive nine months later. In the nine months she was held captive by one-time itinerant street preacher Brian David Mitchell and his wife Wanda Barzee. 

He was convicted of kidnapping and sexual assault and was sentenced to serve life in prison.

Jordanposted the video last Wednesday after finding posts that his daughter, Hannah, put on Facebook about her parents. 

At the beginning of the video,Jordanis seated in a wooden chair, discussing his daughter’s recent Facebook wall post, in which she complained about her parents. 

“I’m tired of picking up after you. You tell me at least once a day to get a job,” Hannah wrote on Facebook. “I have no idea how I have a life. I’m gonna hate to see the day when you get too old to wipe your …, and you call me asking for help.” 

Before shooting eight times Hannah’s laptop,Jordantold his daughter to get a job. It was a father’s reaction to an action of his daughter, a way to lecture her online. 

According to newspapers Tommy explained to child services agent that he did not post the video for attention or to make money. 

“At the end of the day, no I’m not losing my kids, no one’s in danger of being ripped from our home” saidJordan.  “And I actually got to spend some time with the nice lady and learn some cool parenting tips that I didn’t know.”

Hoskins was arrested in 1995 for stalking the pop star and served a 10 years prison sentence. 

The Los Angeles Police Department, who had been searching for Hoskins, described him as “highly psychotic man when not taking his medication” and as having “very violent tendencies”. 

According to newspapers, two decades ago Hoskins stalked Madonna and threatened to kill her if she did not marry him. He was shot by her bodyguard.  

“I feel incredibly disturbed that the man who repeatedly threatened my life is sitting across the room from me. I feel we are making his fantasies come true” Madonna said to a prosecutor. 

Police found Hoskins not far from theNorwalkfacility that he escaped from last Friday. 

Mimi Alford offers many details about her 18-month sexual relationship with John F. Kennedy, which began when she was only 19 and concluded with his assassination, in her memoir “Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and its Aftermath”. 

Alford claims that the president invited her for a personal tour where he seduced her. Kennedy invited Mimi in Mrs. Kennedy’s bedroom where they had sex. Alford claims she lost her virginity that day. “I was in shock” she explained in an excerpt. 

When she explained to him that she was a virgin he continued anyway, without saying a word and without ever kissing her.

Their final intrigue happened in a New York hotel only seven days before the President’s assassination. 

Legislative analyst Patrick Frank told the House Appropriations Committee that with home values declining, the state is collecting less money to use to pay back bonds.

“If we keep the current property tax rate, I think in 2014, there will be a gap,” State Treasurer Nancy Kopp said. “And you will have to look at either going to the general fund or raising the property tax.”

Bonds are paid back out using several sources, including property taxes. The general fund, where most of the state’s revenues go,  has not been used to pay back bonds for almost a decade.

Kopp said that the general fund has historically played a role in paying back bonds. In 2003, that burden was shifted to property taxes, and the Board of Public Works raised state property tax rate so the money would be there.

In 2010, Kopp said, the board reduced the property tax rate. With lower property taxes and homes worth less, the money is running short.

Frank said that while general fund revenues could be used to pay back bonds, it is not what he would recommend.

“Our issue really is that there’s a long term deficit in the general fund and this is adding to it, so we’d like to reduce that,” Frank said.

The property tax is currently 11 cents for each $100, Kopp said. Right now, a penny of property tax brings in $68 million.

Frank said that it appears that home values are beginning to level off, and the state will be losing fewer revenues to property tax exemptions.

“Perhaps we’ll eventually get to the point where there is no downgrade,” Frank said.

Frank showed delegates a chart that showed how much revenue the state was losing through homestead tax exemptions – a tax credit for people who live in their homes and see their property values increasing.

The homestead tax exemption softens the blow to homeowners of sharp increases in property values and also provides a hedge for state revenues, Frank said. Because property owners are not paying so much more, the state does not suffer as quickly if property values fall.

Del. Gail Bates, R-Howard, asked if rolling back the homestead exemption could help with the financial issues. Frank said that would take too long to make the necessary impact.

“Ultimately, yes, you’d have to increase the rate,” he said.

According to the Times, law enforcement sources arrived at the home of Cornelius, shortly after 4 a.m. Sources told the Times that Cornelius died of a gunshot wound to the head, which appeared to be self-inflicted. There were no signs of foul play.

Cornelius’ body was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Fox News reported quoting TMZ.

“Soul Train,” which debuted in 1971, was the longest-running first-run nationally syndicated show in television history, the Times reports. Before its end in 2006, it brought the music and dance styles of African –American artists to the national audience. Cornelius retired from the hosting gig in 1993.

When Cornelius divorced his wife Viktoria in 2009, he told a Los Angeles judge that he was suffering from “significant health issues” and wanted to “finalize this divorce before I die.” The couple’s seven and a half year marriage ended bitterly after his former wife filed two restraining orders against Cornelius, and he was later convicted of spousal battery.

Known as a private man, he gave a rare interview to Time Out Chicago last year in which he spoke about being moved to create “Soul Train” to give “black talent … an opportunity to get national television exposure.”
