I am getting married on July 28th. I'm not gone..I haven't stoped painting.
I am busy.
I finished my tiny little bag crocheted in thread today...but that will go on another blog.
I did finish a painting this week..but I did it while playing the role of "swap angel" on www.craftster.org
A swap angel steps in when someones swap partner flakes on them.
This yound lady wanted a painting of her brother who died in the line of duty as a fireman.
I am giving her the option to see it before it arrives by post, so if she wants to, then I will post it.

You no longer have to type the annoying code to comment on my blog...but the comments will be moderated.
I think this is the happy medium.
I myself was getting tired of having to use the codes, and just would rather hand delete spam, than to make my commenter/viewers go through it too.

Studio Friday:sounds

My first entry for Studio Friday

The theme is "sounds"

The sounds I hear in my studio right now are pretty limited. My ears ring and buzz constantly. Only the sound of Arthur ( my kitty) periodically asking to be fed for the 72nd time in four hours makes it through the buzz and ring. I used that background because I dont really interpret sensory input like other people..there is a name for it..which at4:44 AM I am not going to go look up. :P
But anyway, I have to run it all through a filter and sort it out and blah, blah, blah..my brain is all swirly and twisty turny like that.
I am now boring even myself..so I'll post the pic already, and off to bed...or to paint..or have a bagel.

For those new to my blog from Studio Friday. My name is Rebecca Lopez..and I like to paint..alot.
I like bagels alot too.

By the way...I not only have bees buzzing in my head..I have them in my mail box too.
That's just not good.

sugar rush "fat" for illustration friday

My keyboard is giving me heck...so in short: This is an older peice that I did to warn myself of the perils of giving into my sweet tooth. A long time diabetic, I have battled against the lure of the evil cake for a years. I didnt take my own warning, and now fight with my own nervous sysem for control of fluid movement, and daily functioning. I am also in pain and shake. With time and my new resolve to take myinsulin and eat right..it hopefully will improve. Until then I am on nuerontin which does help some and hopefully w'll see more participation from me ( in illo friday) both in art and commenting on other illos.
"Cake aint worth it"...it's my new motto.
Sorry about the small size and the boarder...long story. Will one day remove that boarder.

I'm going to go ahead and submit this for Illustration Friday ...theme this week being "Glamour". This is about as close to the concept as I will get. Take it from the make up aspect...or from the concept of making ourselves into something else...something more exciting in order to please, and be accepted.
Take it as a painting...I really don't get the concept of Glamour too much...

(I wish I had some sort of meat. I'm very hungry...dinner time. )

at least in my opinion it is over due.
I now have a store on zazzle.com, where you can purchase my little lovlies printed as posters, on cards, t-shirts, and ...even real US postage stamps.
They have reasonable prices and most items can be customized as to background colors, etc.
The clothing comes in many styles...including night shirts and childrens wear...and ALOT of sizes...we're talking mega "x"'s in front of the "large".
So think of me for the holidays...and make me a part of them.
I am seriously considering Christmas cards..Valentines day cards for sure..so keep checking back.
I also am keeping an art journal there, as well as a message board. I would love to exchange ideas on art and design with anyone willing to have an open mind, and enjoy themselves.
Of high interest to me...experimental techniques, especially focusing on mixed media.
Really..I have tried to make my store interesting and fun to browse...so git...to the site...
and as I have the delicacy and tact of a baby rhino, I'll also add...
