Yasmin Levy is the Ladino singer born in Jerusalem, Israel who has taken Ladino music in new directions and to new heights on the international stage. Yasmin has received numerous recognitions and has toured extensively throughout the world including appearances at the WOMEX and WOMAD festivals. She is on her debut tour of the United States with three previous U.S. appearances in New York, Los Angeles and Seattle.

Yasmin is the daughter of the late Yitzhak Levy, one of the world’s leading scholars in Ladino music who spent his entire career collecting and preserving the Sephardic music that was passed down orally from generation to generation for over 500 years. Although her father passed away when she was only one year old, the traditions passed from her father to her mother and then to the young Yasmin are a testament to the survival of this endangered art. Her widely acclaimed third album Mano Suave will be released in the U.S. in September 2009.

Los Hollywood (LH) was formed in 2007 when Heidy (Vox), Marcos (Guitar/Bass) and Gustavo (Drums) decided to join forces and talents looking for a fresh sound and a new musical horizon. British Rock influences their music, yet they never forget their Latino roots.

In less than one year, LH quickly captured the attention of the public and the media. In the first months of 2008, LH entered the studio and recorded their debut album produced by Cuevo Perez of Carrusel Records. In June 2008, LH won the first “Myspace Latino Battle of the Bands.” This accomplishment gave LH the privilege of being one of the five bands sponsored nationwide by Myspace Latino for a one year period.
In May 2009, LH released their first self-titled EP through iTunes and was chosen as “Itunes Latino Hot Pick of the Week.” One week after their EP release, their single “No Te Aguites” was featured as “Itunes Latino Free Download of the Week.” In April 2009, Los Hollywood were invited to play the “Myspace Latino 1st Anniversary Showcase” in Miami, sharing the stage with Flex, Alex y Fido, Reik and Afrobeta.
Their first full length album is set for release in July 2009. The second week of July LH will perform at LAMC’s Indie and Acoustic Showcase in New York City followed by an East Coast promotional tour.

An exclusive evening with Cuba’s legendary and timeless son ensemble Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro, the 2004 GRAMMY-nominated Cuban son group founded by master musician Ignacio Piñeiro in Cuba in 1927. The ensemble is set to tour the US from late October through early December 2009. This historic event marks the first time a Cuban artist is granted a visa to perform in the US since 2003.

Cuban sonero and composer Ignacio Piñeiro founded Sexteto Nacional as Columbia Records’ answer to RCA Victor’s popular Sexteto Habanero, later adding a 7th member and so defining the classic septet sound. Today, third-generation descendants of Septeto Nacional continue to define Cuba’s consummate son tradition.

This third generation of Septeto Nacional musicians garnered a 2004 Grammy nomination for their album “Poetas del Son” and then, in 2007, toured successfully to celebrate 80 years of musical history. Septeto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro is a group that became a standard bearer for traditional Cuban Son introducing countless songs into the repertoire of classic Cuban son such as “Echale Salsita”, “No jueges con los Santos” and “Coco Mai Mai”. Septeto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro features the most prominent musicians in the genre.
