For Kendall, it’s not merely mastering the art of the cold brew or the pour over. It’s more meta for the man whose affections, connections and bona fides in and around the Brooklyn artisan food scene go deep (by day, he’s running Special Ops for McClure’s Pickles in the new incubator kitchen in Bushwick). It’s all about service. Not about kissing your ass service but about giving it to you straight. After a long coffee-less winter, the coffee machine has returned and with him, the masses like the swallows to Capistrano, where his weekend menu of cold brew, french press and pour over is served to perfection sourcing his beans from Greenpoint’s Café Grumpy.

I’m no botanist. Green thumb? Not even close. Even the most dismal plant care giver could make it work with beautiful terrariums from Dachshund in the Desert.

Neon accents with vintage enclosures along with hearty succulents is the recipe for success as far as the garden-phobic are concerned. If I can keep one of these babies going for a month, I might take the plunge and try growing some basil. At least I can eat it if I kill it!

Jessica Straw of Oh Deer Dry Goods has created possibly my most favorite tote to date, and I’m punching myself that I didn’t pick one up.  What can be so amazing that I’m inflicting injury on myself, you ask? Craigslist Missed Connections screen-printed on totes and tanks. So good. So genius. Jessica also does beautiful screen-prints on wispy chiffon tops and countless other fabrics, just in case you have a different kind of buying addiction.

Sweet Disorder Vintage is Kate Russel’s Williamsburg vintage showroom turned market pop-up shop, a love affair that began as a study of London markets, turned into a 4-year stint holding it down as a Portobello Market shopkeep and is now showing up on these shores with a stunning haul of men’s and women’s wearables from Victorian to the Modern. Rome’s Mercato Monti is a weekend designer market for the famed and soon-to-be-fabulous. Carlotta Cerulli’s wondrous accessories brand Le Gallinelle regularly holds court at the mercato and remixes Roman textiles and styles for the Brooklyn cult of cool. Sunday only
