Sometimes the truth can be UGLY…that’s why we don’t confront it.
Julia Cameron is the author of an interesting book some of you may be familiar with called “The Artist’s Way”. Now, I don’t necessarily agree with everything in the book, but what I do like about it is that it is filled with hands-on exercises that allow the artist to confront real issues and hindrances to your creativity.
I want to challenge you to do a version of one of those exercises. It is designed for you to pause for a ...

Artist/entrepreneur Charlene Rice does it again with her latest series: “Project of the Week”.
Charlene does her version of a how-to video, demonstrating the project as well as selling the “kit” that makes the project happen.

What I like about what she’s doing here is the following:

Charlene has expanded her core artistic gift and uses multimedia to reach others (artists and non-artists alike).
Charlene has put the notion of the “starving artist” to shame and has tastefully created yet another revenue stream that also blesses those that it serves.

I’ve recently been reading “Imagine- A Vision for Christians in the Arts”; a book that many of you may be familiar with by Steve Turner. Steve comes out of the gates with a concept that unfortunately is not uncommon: that a lot of Christian contemporary art is of poor quality, yet a great deal of art created by non-Christians is of good quality.
His point is that many Christian artists use their redemptive experience as the sole driver in their artistic expression, forsaking basics like training, exploring creative culture and ...

I would leave the issue alone, but the irony that I see is that many of these same artists use the internet a great deal every day, visiting social networks, email and websites but still have no site of their own.
These artists have admitted their need for a website, want to eventually have one, and ...
