Aiming to explore the public art potential in West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong Sculpture Society has invited more than 30 local artists to create and to exhibit 3D artworks for public spaces of West Kowloon in Exhibition Gallery of Hong Kong Central Library in May.

Story one :

I walk into the exhibition entrance and see there are several people surrounding a man, Mr. F.

“Hello! good to see you!” a woman said.

“Thanks for coming to the exhibition, it is my great honour.” Mr. F said.

“Oh! He is the xxx of the event!!” the woman turns around and tells her friend.

“Hello! good to see you!” another woman said.

“Thanks for coming to the exhibition, it is my …” he is trying to reply.

“Oh! He is the xxx of the event!!” the woman turns around and tells her friend.

“Hello! good to see you!” the third woman said.

“Thanks for coming to the exhibition.” Mr. F said.

Three women left and I approached.

“Good to see you, Mr. F.” I said.

“Thanks for coming.” he said.

I left, another person talked to him, Mr. F said “Thanks.”

Story two :

Artist S and I are hanging out in an art exhibition and passing by a digital art booth held by a college. Several people are holding iPads toward a black tall wall. They keep turning around and watching on the iPad’s screens.

“What are they doing?” I ask the booth’s attendant.

“Please look at the screen, you would see an huge ancient Chinese wall painting appeared on screen.” He passed me an iPad and point to the wall.

“They have the technology but should think about the topic.” Artist S said to me.

“You are so subtle … I see nothing on the iPad screen.” , I am trying to ask the attendant.

“Oh sorry, the iPad needs to reboot, please wait.” the attendant said.

“Reboot? What is the point we have to look at the screen for an old painting, with no reason, idea and meaning behind?” I asked.

Another attendant is peeping my name card.

Artist S found that and whispers to me : “Don’t speak aloud, this college director will be the art competition judge this year.”

I put my name card back to the trouser pocket immediately.

Story Three :

After walking around the exhibition for a whole day, I phoned Mr. W who just came back from a business trip.

“Hey! I just visited a great exhibition!! You should come! You love art!” I feel excited.

“Yep sure, what artwork I will see there?” Mr. W said.

“All top artists works you would see!!” I said.

“Monet?” he asked.

“No, not that old, but you would see Picasso.” I said.

“Oh Picasso, I don’t admire it.” he said.

“Not the classical one you see when travel. I know you go paris every year and stay there a month in museums …” I try to explain.

“Then they are selling you something, right?” Mr. W asked.

“Nono, I haven’t bought anything … although some of them are good looking.” I said.

“I have a monet print, real size and color-tune as original painting. I sell you for 100 bucks, deal? Stock market drops 1000 points today … no mood and no money …” he said.

“Oh I see, how about I go to your house and drink?” I asked.

“Come on!! I have a box of wine for you!!” he said.

“What the …” I said.

『法國五月』 藝術節二十周年的重點節目首推香港歷來最大型的畢加索作品展，於2012年5月19日至7月22月在香港文化博物館舉行，展出這位藝術大師的四十八幅油畫及七件雕塑，當中包括經典名作《赤足的少女》、《坐紅色扶椅的女子》及《朵拉.瑪爾肖像》，這些作品描繪了畢加索的各種藝術風格和標誌著藝術家八十年藝術生涯中的不同時期，包括藍色時期、粉紅色時期與立體派。

巴黎國立畢加索藝術館現正裝修，直到明年春天。博物館趁此機會，將其珍藏環遊世界巡迴展覽，讓畢卡索迷一飽眼福。繼臺北、上海首兩站先後獲得成功，下一站將在香港舉行本港有史以來最大型的畢卡索展覽，展出四十八幅名畫及七座雕塑，一共五十五件畢加索的遺作。創作年期由十九世紀後期至他離逝的1973年，展品當中包括其創作生涯不同時期具代表性的作品：藍色時期、玫瑰時期、新古典主義時期、立體派時期等，讓我們欣賞這位出色的藝術大師多樣化的風格和豐富驚人的創意。

國立畢加索藝術館於1985年專為這位元藝術大師的作品而成立，用來展示1979年法國政府從畢卡索後人購得的作品。經過二多年收穫捐贈及積極收購，今天博物館的珍藏共有超過五千件畢卡索的傑作和作品，它們在這位元藝術大師的創作生命中扮演重要角色，是史上最完整的公開畢卡索作品集。

巴勃羅•魯伊斯•畢加索（Pablo Picasso，1881年～1973年），出生在西班牙馬拉加，西班牙畫家、雕塑家。現代藝術的創始人，西方現代派繪畫的主要代表。他和他的畫在世界藝術史上佔據了不朽的地位。畢卡索是位多產畫家。據統計，他的作品總計近 37000 件，包括：油畫1885 幅，素描7089 幅，版畫20000 幅，平版畫6121幅。

畢加索是當代西方最有創造性和影響最深遠的藝術家之一，立體畫派創始人，1908年，在巴黎秋季沙龍的展覽上，當野獸派畫家馬蒂斯看到畢加索和布拉克的那些風格新奇獨特的作品時，不由得驚歎道：“這不過是一些立方體呀!”同年，評論家沃塞爾在《吉爾•布拉斯》雜誌上，借馬蒂斯的這一說法，對布拉克展于卡思維勒畫廊的作品評論說：“布拉克將一切都縮減在立方體之中”。他首先採用了“立體主義”這個字眼。後來，作為對畢加索和布拉克所創的畫風及畫派的指稱，“立體主義”(Cubism)的名字便約定俗成了。

畢加索在法國渡過大半生，在此跟喬治．布拉克共同創辦立體派運動。畢卡索廣受推崇，是二十世紀最著名的藝術家之一，被他同時代的人喻為對藝術史上主要改變有貢獻的一位天才。他在二十世紀初的十年間，嘗試過不同的理論、技術和構思；他的革命性藝術成就為他贏得聲譽，亦使他成為本世紀最著名和最有價值的藝術家。他的名畫《裸體、綠葉和半身像》(Nu au Plateau de Sculpteur，1932年)，在2010年5月以一億六百五十萬億美元成交，創下藝術拍賣的世界紀錄。

the South Bronx, NY (K.O.S. stands for “Kids of Survival”) to create new art.

“What we’re doing changes people’s conception about who can make art,
