Construction underway on the new gallery & café

After so many months of planning and anticipation, I really enjoyed visiting the Park Pacific building this morning and seeing the work underway on our new home at 1223 Pine Street. Seriously, it’s a thrill for me to see this project moving from concept to reality. I just hope the necessary funding will continue to come in so we can see it all through to completion. I’ll write more on that soon. Meanwhile, here’s a video snapshot of this morning’s work in progress:

I was sipping some Mississippi Mud Coffee as I made the rounds this morning and enjoying a blueberry scone compliments of Christopher Ruess, founder and owner of Mississippi Mud Coffee Roasters and our café partner with this project. I do enjoy coffee, and yes, Chris’ gift this morning was absolutely delicious. Up to this point in my life I’ve managed to avoid forming anything in the way of a coffee addiction, but I really don’t know how long I’ll be able to keep that up living with it every day! Guess I’ll just have to take my chances with that.

Dear Friends,

So much is happening in the work of Art Saint Louis right now that I hardly know where to begin in bringing you up to speed. Without a doubt, ASL is living up to its creed, making life in our region more meaningful and vibrant through the work of local visual artists. I have never been more convinced of the importance of any cultural endeavor, and never more thrilled to be part of it.

CULTURAL MOMENTUM

Consider some of the new ways we’re serving artists and audiences in St. Louis:

• We have begun transforming empty storefront spaces downtown into temporary art galleries. The five pop-up galleries we recently established on Washington Avenue are only the beginning!
