This weekend I did two small pieces at this year's chalk festival organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art. It was such a pleasure to take part in this great event. The works by both professionals and amateurs were just breathtaking. I was lucky to have a wide angle lens to capture the mosaic of artwork.

ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗು ನನ್ನ ಶುಭಾಷಯಗಳು, ನಾನು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದು ತುಂಬಾ ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಆಗಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಆಸೆ. ಈ ದಿವಸ ಆ ಆಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಮಾಡ್ತೀನಿ. ಈ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನನ್ನ ತಾಳ್ಮೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಓದಿ ತುಂಬಾ ವರ್ಷ ಆಯಿತು. ಈಗ google indic transliteration ಬಳಸಿ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದೆಯೋ ತಪ್ಪಗಿದೆಯೋ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭವಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ

I just could not sleep as soon as I saw the e mail invitation to the rally late Friday evening. I simply had to be there. The Peepul tree (Ficus Religiosa) is a beautiful sight to behold. It's branches spread majestically and the heart shaped leaves shimmer as they flutter in the breeze. It is said that this shimmer is akin to that of the shine on a king's crown and hence the Tamil name Arasa Maram. I rendered this pen and ink sketch on the very first day of my recent visit to Bangalore.
