How to set DNS record for .my domain?

Custom Short Domain by bit.ly Pro

Currently I have seven .my domains that I bought from Mercumaya. All of them are not active (contain no website). But there is one .my domain that I want to use for my bitly.Pro - Custom Short Domain.
To use this service, I have to set my DNS A record to point to their IP address. But the problem is, there is no option for me to set the DNS A record from the domain registrar (MyNIC Domain Registry).
Luckily, I have DNS Zone Editor in my cPanel and I can set the DNS A record from there. Here I will show you how to set DNS record for .my domain by using cPanel.

Add the domain using Addon Domains

Step 1 - From your cPanel, add the .my domain into your hosting account by using Addon Domains tool.

Click on Advanced DNS Zone Editor

Step 2 - Next, back to your cPanel Home and go to Advanced DNS Zone Editor.

Select the domain

Step 3 - Choose the .my domain that you want to change the DNS record. In my case, it is ls.my domain.
Step 4 - cPanel will list down all current DNS records for your .my domain. From here, you can choose either to edit or add new DNS record.

Enter the IP address to setup A record

Step 5 - I want to change the A record for ls.my domain to point to bitly.Pro IP address, 168.143.174.97 . So I click on Edit and replace the IP address with the new one.

After it has finished propagated

Step 6 - Lastly, click on Edit Record and wait the domain to propagate.

Gmail And Yahoo Mail Users Now Protected Against eBay And PayPal Phishing Mails

The award for the longest title ever could go to this one. But it’s good news actually. Both Email services are “supporting email authentication standards including DomainKeys and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) to verify senders and help identify forged messages” for a few years now but could not eliminate all phishing emails because of companies signing their mails only partly. The filter was therefor not perfect which still meant that users were seeing phishing emails in their inboxes and spam folders.

PayPal and eBay finally made the decision to sign all emails originating from their servers including the international versions which means that it is possible to eliminate PayPal and eBay phishing emails before they even reach the inbox or spam folder. The system was tested for a few weeks silently and only a few users did notice according to the official Gmail blog.

Now any email that claims to come from “paypal.com” or “ebay.com” (and their international versions) is authenticated by Gmail and — here comes the important part — rejected if it fails to verify as actually coming from PayPal or eBay. That’s right: you won’t even see the phishing message in your spam folder. Gmail just won’t accept it at all. Conversely, if you get an message in Gmail where the “From” says “@paypal.com” or “@ebay.com,” then you’ll know it actually came from PayPal or eBay. It’s email the way it should be.

Sounds like a dream come true and could pose an end to phishing if more companies, and mail providers, would jump on the bandwagon of signed emails. Companies that come to my mind first are financial companies and other online stores. I still would not blindly trust any email from PayPal or eBay that would arrive in my inbox but it definitely is a step in the right direction. The best way to handle it is to visit the websites manually and perform the eBay or PayPal loginthere.

Maybank is the largest bank and financial group in Malaysia and it has a pretty good and complete online banking system. I have been using it for many years to conveniently pay my bills online and to transfer funds without even going to an ATM machine or to the bank. Recently there has been many fake Maybank2u websites created by phishers to steal the username and password. I don’t know why they even do it because transferring funds to a third party account that is not saved into the favorites requires to key in the random unique TAC code that is sent to the mobile phone and that number can ONLY be changed in the ATM machine. So there is no point in stealing an unknown user’s maybank2u login information.

Here is one that I’ve recently received on my personal Hotmail account. It is claimed to be sent by servicenotify@maybank2u.com with the subject Important Alert. The body the of email says the following:

Dear Customer,
During our last security update, we noticed problems with the security image on your account. You are therefore required to verify your account and select a new securuty image. As an additional security verification, you will be required to verify your security question and answers.
