I live near a nice park where a lot of animals live. Once in a while I go out and feed them. They seem to be quite happy when I feed them so I will keep doing that!

Unfortunately a few weeks back, the park was hit by a huge storm and a lot of trees fell down. Hopefully they will rebuild the park as soon as possible.

Twice a week I have to go to the office in Amstelveen and I travel by train. While in the summer months there is already day-light at 7:23AM, now that the summer is fading out, it is darker.

I live in a Catholic region of the Netherlands and the Catholic Church is still very much present in the current life. A few times a year we have a procession and today we had the St Rosa Procession. A procession specifically for the Saint Rosa who ensured that Sittard was exempt from the Plague. The Dean is guided by local concert bands, citizen militia(on the photo) and believers.

Each year we celebrate carnaval (Vastelaovend) and  we have a contest in which the best carnaval-song is elected. This happened tonight and I was there listening to all the songs that were sent in.

Dialects can be fun! I live in Sittard and there they have their own dialect called 'Zittesj'. Every now and then I have to translate something and even though I know the language pretty good (I had some language courses for writing/reading/speaking and passed two exams), I still require the dictionary to sometimes ensure I am right :)

It is not a secret, I work for HP and every once in a while, friends or family come directly to me with questions. I really don't mind it, I will try to help them as good as possible but getting a note with S4200 on it and meaning F4210 makes it very hard for me ;)

The region where I live has a huge history, most of it is still unknown to me but every once and a while we go around and try to visit some historic site. Today that was "Fort St Pieter", a fortress built on top of a mountain. It was built in the 19th century to defend the city of Maastricht. Whenever you come to the south, it is for sure worth a visit!

I did a few years back, living from a suitcase. When you do that, you easily get bored of sitting in a hotel, AGAIN. This book helped me through some of the boring time, "hotel hobby's"
