Toronto, ON (PRWEB) March 17, 2012

Toronto?s premier mold testing company and inspection service experts, Environmental Services Group, have succeeded in building their reputation as the leading experts in Toronto and the GTA. The cutting-edge professionals work closely with clients to assess and remediate environmental hazards commonly found in both commercial and residential properties such as mold, asbestos and lead that can lead to health and safety hazards. Their accuracy and professionalism has made them the trusted source and resource for certified environmental assessment in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Southwest Ontario.

In a recent episode called ?Home making you sick?? on CP24?s Wylde On Health, Tara Valley, Senior Environmental Consultant and Indoor Air Quality Specialist for the Environmental Services Group shared some common issues that affect residential properties. Some of the bigger concerns were identified as attics, basements, inside walls and bathrooms. A few surprising culprits made it on to the list as well such as car-mats and ceilings. These areas turned up toxins and molds in ESG?s professional mold inspection services of several residential and commercial properties. ?Mold and toxins can cause very serious health issues,? says Valley. ?This is especially predominant among the young, elderly and individuals with respiratory problems,? Valley adds.

Companies like Environmental Services Group in particular execute mold testing. ?It?s important to contact a professional when you find mold in your home,? explains Valley. ?It?s not just important to have the hazard removed and cleaned up, it is critical to have a final mold test to verify that the source of the mold has been properly removed to ensure it doesn?t return to harmful levels,? Valley says. One of the major issues affecting families and companies who are trying to eradicate the deadly substance is the increasing number of unlicensed and unqualified people looking to take advantage of homeowners. ?It?s very important to do your research to ensure that the mold testing company you hire is certified and fully licensed,? stresses Valley.

Further demonstration of the expertise of ESG was seen a few months ago on an episode of one of HGTV?s popular property renovation programs, ?Income Properties?. The team at ESG was called in to assess the mold removal job performed on an old home that was being modernized for an episode.

ESG is not limited to doing inspections for mold, but has expertise in detecting asbestos containing materials, asbestos air sampling, and indoor air quality assessments.

To book an environmental assessment in Toronto or the GTA, call 416-575-6111 or visit us at http://www.environmentalservicesgroup.ca

ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES GROUP

Environmental Services Group is the trusted leader for mold-free homes and breathable indoor air spaces in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and Southwest Ontario.

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 14, 2011

New York asbestos attorney Joseph W. Belluck says financial restitution is appropriate in cases where environmental crimes endanger public health and require the public to pay for cleaning an illegal asbestos dump site.

?It?s only fitting that a repeat offender convicted of illegally dumping asbestos in a rural New York field pay the taxpayers? cost of cleaning up this public health hazard,? says Belluck, a New York asbestos lawyer and partner of Belluck & Fox.

Belluck says, “Companies hired to abate asbestos must be held to the strictest standards.

if abatement is performed inadequately or illegally, workers and members of the public risk getting mesothelioma and lung cancer.”

In June 2010, a federal judge in New York sentenced Paul Mancuso to six years in prison and fined him $ 20,000 for multiple violations of asbestos-related environmental laws. That case is United States of America v. Paul Mancuso (Docket No. 5:08-CR-611, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York).

Mancuso was previously convicted of similar crimes in federal court in 2003 and in New York state court in 2004. As a result, Mancuso was specifically forbidden from being involved in the asbestos removal industry.

But Mancuso chose to stay in the asbestos removal business by setting up companies in the names of relatives, according to court documents. Mancuso and other family members operated an illegal asbestos removal business, defrauded the government and dumped asbestos on the land of unsuspecting property owners, officials claimed.

After a hearing in December 2010, U.S. District Judge Frederick J. Scullin, Jr., ordered Mancuso to pay $ 17,900 in restitution to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for costs associated with the clean-up of the illegal asbestos dump site in Poland, New York.

The court ordered Mancuso to pay 25 percent of his gross monthly income while he is in custody and $ 500, or 20 percent of his gross monthly income, after he is released.

?The asbestos left on pipes and on basement floors put innocent homeowners at risk of breathing asbestos fibers and developing mesothelioma, a horrible disease,? says Belluck, who focuses on asbestos mesothelioma claims and asbestos exposure lawsuits.

According to Belluck, the symptoms of mesothelioma can take decades to appear, making it nearly impossible to know the full extent of harm caused by an illegal removal of asbestos.

About Belluck & Fox, LLP

Belluck & Fox, LLP, is a nationally recognized law firm that represents individuals with asbestos and mesothelioma claims, as well as victims of crime, medical malpractice, motorcycle crashes, lead paint and other serious injuries. The firm provides personalized and professional representation and has won nearly $ 350 million in compensation for clients and their families.

Partner Joseph W. Belluck is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in New York Magazine?s ?Best Lawyers in the New York Area? and in Super Lawyers. Mr. Belluck has won numerous cases involving injuries from asbestos, defective medical products, tobacco and lead paint, including a recent asbestos case that settled for more than $ 12 million.

Partner Jordan Fox is a well-known asbestos and mesothelioma attorney who has been named to the Best Lawyers in America, New York Magazine?s ?Best Lawyers in the New York Area? and to Super Lawyers. On two separate occasions his verdicts were featured as the National Law Journal?s Largest Verdict of the Year.

In September, Belluck & Fox, LLP, won a coveted spot on a list of America’s best law firms, which was published jointly by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers magazine. The listing showcased 8,782 different law firms ranked in one or more of 81 major practice areas.

For more information, contact the firm at (877) 695-2909 or through the online contact form.

###

Related Asbestos Removal Contractors Association Press Releases
