Years ago, this would have been handled immediately, but it’s funny how life works.  In fact, I registered this site when I was 22 years old, 11+ years ago. Where were you 11 years ago?  I was in college, and this site, and a few others like it were my primary after-school project.  I’ve met a lot of awesome people, and made some lasting connections (Darryl, miss ya, bud!).  I also hit the wave at the right time in 2002/2003, when ad-blockers were rare and blogs were the next big thing. The site did more than just pay for itself… at one point, I was offered 20k to sell the site.  But it was my baby, and the ad revenue generated on this site alone has since paid off my student loans and then some.  For this, I will be ever thankful.

But life changes a lot in 11 years.  In college, the thought of earning 100 bucks a month from a website was very tempting, and worth all of my time! As I progress in my career, and family life, the maintenance of this site suffers, and for that I am sorry.

I can’t promise that we will ever be back to the thriving community we once were.  People seem tired of some of the longer running promotions (MyCokeRewards) – and I can’t blame them.  I see much bigger spikes in traffic these days from the shorter yearly programs such as the McDonald’s Monopoly program than from MyCokeRewards. Revenue the site brings in has nearly vanished… this also doesn’t help my motivation.  I will, however, make an effort to keep things up and running the best I can.  I guess that is my way of saying “thank you” and giving a little back.

For any of my long-time visitors, describe what your life was like 11 years ago and what changed for you! I always love hearing from you guys!

It has been six years since we first started sharing MyCokeRewards codes, and what I find amazing is that some of the people that were doing this six years ago are still around today, still being as generous as ever.

If you’re new to this site, welcome! You will find news, information, discussion about the prizes and the MyCokeRewards program, and of course, MyCokeRewards codes – for free. No catch.  Out of the kindness of their own hearts, folks donate codes only to be consumed by strangers across the internet, with little more in return than a “thank you” – and sometimes not even that.  This site inspires me to be a better person, which is why I’ve maintained it for so long, I think.

McDonald’s Monopoly

I will be donating any and all unused Monopoly codes here on this page.  And as we’ve seen in the past, quite a few other folks usually join in the fun along with me.  So check this page a few times a day to see if you can score some points, or feel free to add to the discussion of the McDonalds Monopoly game and prizes.

Update (9/20): The pre-promotion started today (9/20), where if you go to PlayAtMcD.com, you can get a jump start on getting registered and entering a code for a chance at $10,000. This code that can be found on the McD’s bags – or I can just tell it to you: “MCDFORREAL” – Go enter it now!

Update (9/24): Some folks are getting codes early! I checked my local McD’s and did not find them to be using any of the Monopoly stuff yet, but you might want to check yours!

Update (9/27): The games have begun! (But the McDonald’s website can’t seem to handle the load!). There are three codes that everyone can use to get started: MCDFORREAL, FREECODEMCR and MCDMONOPOLY

Some more info about the game: 

• This pre-promo thing goes from 9/20 to 9/26.  You can start entering real codes on Tuesday, Sept 27.
• The codes will be on food items until 10/24/2011 (or until supplies last), but you have until 11/5 to enter the codes online.
• Codes can be found on:  Big Mac (2 peels), Nuggets (4 peels on 20 piece, 2 on the 10 piece), Large Fries (4 peels), medium drinks (2 peels), McCafe drinks (2 peels), my favorite: Filet-o-Fish (2 peels). And for breakfast: hash browns, Egg McMuffin, and Oatmeal all have them (2 peels each).
• Some good prizes this year including MyCokeRewards Codes, a bunch of EA games prizes (video games), Kinect for Xbox 360, gift cards, a trip to London, the Caribbean, or Chicago, a Nissan Z Coupe, and a Nissan Leaf. Very cool!

In an effort to reduce how much take-out I order here in Seattle, I’ll be buying quite a few of these – and like MyCokeRewards, Pepsi codes, and Dr. Pepper, I will be sharing my codes on this page.  Yep – free codes. No catch. And I’m hoping there are others out there that may join me in the sharing.

First, some information about the program:

• Code can be found on the inside of the frozen dinner box. Each code is worth 20 points.
• You can enter the codes at deliciousrewards.leancuisine.com.
• You can earn some extra points by taking surveys and polls on the site.
• This program is interesting because its one of the first I’ve seen where you earn “Badges” as you go. Badges can be earned in many ways… adding items to your wishlist, referring friends, or simply just trying out new frozen dinners (and entering the code). Fun!
• The program is scheduled to end at the end of the year, 12/31/2011, but will likely be extended.

Like the latest MyCokeRewards code sharing page, I’d expect some other generous folks to pitch in as well.  We have a great sharing community here.
