If anyone ever asks me what my favorite accent color is, I’m always going to respond “GOLD!”. Nothing makes me feel cooler than donning some statement gold jewelry or, in this case, gold and black sunnies. I spent Sunday afternoon brunching and working with Christine and decided to wear something casual and fun.

Saturday Casual.

Sometimes you just feel like doing the t-shirt and jeans thing. And sometimes your nail polish matches the design on the tee you’re wearing. A cool t-shirt always helps kick start the mood, in this case my choice was this Tyler Jacobs for Feel the Piece tee. Everyone was staring at my chest (aka the snazzy design) while I was walking through Soho and Nolita. Cool confirmed. Time to smile.

Are you guys feeling my Westward Leaning shades (c/o Wetherly Fashion)? I’ve been wearing them nonstop, I love the reflective lenses.

All Wrapped Up

All wrapped up in my Von Vonni Transformer dress. The cool thing about the transformer dresses is that you can literally wear them dozens of ways. I’m not THAT creative, so I chose to make my dress into a droopy wrap. It’s perfect for work or for play, don’t you think?

I also can’t stop wearing my Cuyana bag (c/o Wetherly Fashion Group). It’s the perfect spring/summer tote, I love the color, it fits EVERYTHING, and it’s durable. True love.

I Love Prints

Nothing feels better than soaking up the warmth of the sun shining on you. Spring is taking its time, but she makes guest appearances here and there. When she comes to visit, I always take advantage and enjoy the day. I took a break from some blog work on Saturday to frolic around outside and snap some photos for the blog. Here’s another helping of printed pants, this time floral.

It totally felt like I took a weekend trip to Seville, Spain. Now if only that were true….

My W29 Showroom Visit

I stopped by the W29 Showroom last week for a tour of their current collections. I left in a daze because there was so much GOOD, my head wouldn’t stop spinning. I love jewelry, so it’s no surprise that I asked for a tour of all the jewelry designers in the showroom first. I was familiar with Iosselliani, so of course I was swooned over their new stuff. Wouters & Hendrix and Tsura were also some of my personal favorites.

Iosselliani necklace. The classic black and gold design caught my eye because it kind of resembles a laurel wreath crown. Regal chic.

Iosselliani stack rings. I would stack these until I’m no longer able to lift my hands. Oops.

The perfect layering combination, lots of gold, a splash of silver, and some pearls for the hell of it.

Helianthus snakeskin and crocodile bags.

This is the gorgeous Emm Kuo bag that I cannot stop thinking about. I absolutely loved all of her bags, especially the hardware and the combination of skins and prints in her designs.

Mix and Match

What happens when your two favorite pieces of clothing (at the moment) happen to have two very different and distinctive textures and/or patterns? You throw them on and hope they look good together. Luckily, they did. I got this jacket at Pixie Market in February, but it hasn’t been warm enough to wear it often (FYI- it was STILL too cold to wear it this weekend). These pants are from Mikkat Market, one of my favorite online shops.

Snow Daze

After brunch on Saturday with Christine, Stephanie, and Sky, Chris and I snapped some photos of each other. The snow was coming down and hiding out in a cozy doorway just seemed so appropriate. I’m ready for spring to officially start, so when it snowed this weekend I was pretty disappointed. The black and white photos totally fit my mood. Can winter just be over already?!

Cinderella's Slippers

On Saturday, I met up with Christine and Tessa for brunch at my new favorite restaurant Sugar Freak. If you follow me on Instagram (@WhatAshleyWears), you’ll see my feed is full of all the food I’ve tried there….and yet, I still keep going back for more. After rolling out of the restaurant, we did the usual blogger thing and stopped to snap a few photos. I blend in with the scenery, no big deal.

I’m currently obsessed with these shoes SO MUCH (thanks to Kenya!). I felt like Cinderella when I slipped them on my feet AND finally managed to tie them the right way.

Of course I had to catch Christine in action shooting Tessa, after Tessa shot me.

Treat Yo'self

I’m kind of obsessed with Ojon. I walked into Sephora last week on the hunt for a serious damage repair deep conditioning treatment. After lingering around the Ojon station for 5 minutes, I finally asked one of the associates what they thought about the product line and she GUSHED about it. After she told me how great Ojon was and how popular their Restorative Hair Treatment is, I just knew I had to have it. I bought it, tried it that night, and fell in love.

Anywho, I spotted the Ojon setup at Milk Studios while I was there for a show but didn’t know what it was. Luckily, a few days later my Twitter pal Rachel invited me to stop by and there was no turning back! Their lead stylist Gwynne walked me through the products in their new Treatment Triage kit and tamed my hair using the products.

Apparently, their new Rare Blend Deep Conditioner (pictured above) is their most moisturizing product yet. This winter has dried out my hair, so I NEED this.

Oozing Cool

I took one look at the girls standing on the bleachers at Kaelen’s FW ‘13 Presentation and couldn’t help but notice how much cool they were OOZING. They were giving off some major swag. The color palette was perfect for fall, rich with florals, grays, and purple hues. I’m always amazed by how wearable Kaelen’s designs are. I have a feeling that I could pluck most of these pieces off of a rack, throw them on, style them my own way, and look great. No muss, no fuss, just effortless style.

I’m always drawn to laser-cut leather. Sorry not sorry.

If you can’t tell, this dress was my favorite piece in the collection.

Goodies. I was super excited about the lineup for this month’s Glossybox (curated by Man Repeller). Nail polish, mascara, perfume, BRIGHT RED LIPSTICK, and more. To be honest, I was sold when I heard there’d be bright red lipstick in the box…I’m easy to please. Unfortunately, the lipstick isn’t even pictured because it took me all of 2 seconds to throw it directly into my purse. I can’t wait to test out everything!

The show. Costello Tagliapietra. I know I don’t usually cover runway here, but Costello always gets it RIGHT. I usually dream about prancing around in my favorite pieces from their collections each season. From their use of color, to their sophisticated feminine silhouettes, I just can’t get enough. I also appreciate the diversity in their shows. What made the show even better was getting to sit front row with Christine, Kristine, and Diana. Blogger love.

And…I blinked for 1 second and the dynamic duo were already exiting the runway. I did my best to snap a shot of them anyway!

The Calm Before the Storm

If anyone asks what I’ve been doing all winter, I’ve been hibernating (and snacking). *Body roll* But since Fashion Week is here, I feel somewhat obligated to emerge from my cave.

It’s cold in NYC, the only way I’m surviving is by layering up, complaining that it’s freezing every single day, and walking SWIFTLY to each and every one of my destinations.

Gettin Down in Chinatown

I love Chinatown. When most people think of Chinatown in NYC, they think of the hustle and bustle and down right craziness on Canal Street and no, I don’t like THAT Chinatown. The crowds give me anxiety, seriously. I love venturing off the beaten path and exploring the bars, mini streets, and restaurants scattered around Chinatown. That’s where the GEMS are folks. That’s where me, Christine, and Stephanie spent our Saturday afternoon. Who’s down to go with me next time?

I dozed off during my photo shoot…no big deal.

Smoothing out my wrinkles so I look photo shoot fresh.

Tricks and Treats

For Halloween, Diana of War Worn Fashion, had the genius idea of inviting a group of us to model day time to fright time ensembles (click here to see everyone else’s ensembles). We took every day items and styled them as we normally would, then re-purposed them for Halloween fun. I had the pleasure of getting to model this gorgeous sequined Von Vonni gown, that I did NOT want to take off.

I threw Jaclyn’s leather jacket on top of it and *voila* I had a “oh I just threw this amazing gown on to lounge around and play pool” Saturday afternoon look.

Can you guess which character I turned into for Halloween?

Who else could pull this fierceness off but Cleopatra?

What do you do when Hallie of Corals and Cognacs invites you to celebrate Gabrielle Union’s 40th birthday at the Dream Downtown? You grab your buddies and go! Christine, Yanique, and I sipped on Courvoisier Gold cocktails and munched on an awesome selection of hors d’oeuvres by Chef Robleé all night long.Yummy food and delicious cocktails make me a very happy person.

Snap Happy

Spitfire sunnies. Mildly obsessed.

It’s no secret that, like most of you, I love snapping pics on the go with my phone. If Instagram is my boyfriend, then Snapette is quickly moving into best friend territory. Shopping is social, who doesn’t like to shop with friends? Advice on the spot? Yes, please.Snapette is like a friend who tells you they love what you picked out and also knows where all the coolest shops and boutiques are. That’s why I’m hooked. When I’m about to buy something new, I “snap” it. When I’m online shopping and I receive a pretty package in the mail, I “snap” my goodies.

I need more friends on Snapette. If you’re always shopping (like me!), I want to see the cool things you’re buying! Let’s be friends :-)
