April marks the Spring show at the International Home Furnishings Center in High Point NC.  It began back in 1921 when a consortium of 10 furniture leaders came together to present their designs.  This has since grown to over 2,000 exhibitors from around the globe presenting 300+ product categories across 795,000 square feet of exhibit space.  When you’re one of 80,000 buyers and have only 6 days, it takes a keen design eye to find the right trends, styles, and winners.  You cover many miles so packing the right footware is key.  We look to ourselves as hunters and gatherers.  Editors that bring back to our respective design studios those items that our clients will love and be inspired by.

The show runs from April 21st to the 26th.  Here’s a preview of a few items we’re excited to experience in person:

Crafted from hand-carved European Beech, the Lancaster Settee is shown in an antique gold finish with strawberry quilted velvet.  The outside back and sides are Kandinsky paint swirls.  A modern fabric and dark finish would give this piece a whole other personality.

The stunning Portobello Serpentine Chest with twining branches across a silver finish.  To us this has a sophisticated mountain modern feel.

Living in Colorado, furniture that works equally as well in the living room and outdoor patio are a utilitarian dream.  The Forest Arm Chair, with electrostatic powder coated aluminum, is available in 9 colors.

Equally hip indoors or out, this Steel Geometric Square Stool is hand-made using a sand casting technique.  Recycled aluminum frame with silver matte finish.  We’d bunch 4 together for a fun cocktail table.  No two exacly alike.
