How crazy?! My Godson, Jackson, is now a big brother – his little sister Kenzie joined the family in February and is PRECIOUS! I just want to squeeze her, too bad they are still living in Virginia. They were up here for a brief trip over Memorial Day weekend and we managed to get a session in between rain showers! Check out the cuteness!

These real life family sessions are way too much fun, truly I couldn’t ask for better clients and friends to capture! This family has been all over the blog, facebook and my work for years now – I can’t believe Natalie turns 8 this month and Ryder will be 4, where has the time gone? I went over to their new house the other weekend to spend some time with them, cooking in the kitchen. It was a perfect evening! Thanks Brittany and Justin for having me over, can’t wait to do it again… next time no camera xo

Team Jaglo – Real Life

Another amazing real life session, this time with TEAM JAGLO – our timing was perfect too since only a few days later, the newest and smallest member of Team Jaglo made his arrival weighing around 3 POUNDS! Oh boy, I can’t wait to get my camera infront of that little munchkin! Anyhoooooo – on to the session, this family makes my heart explode, Xavier is adorable and amazes me with his intelligence. I’m not joking you when I tell you, he really is a GENIUS! Right Kellee?

Because I can – I’ll start with my favorite – family snuggle sesh!

Dancing to a little PSY Gangnam Style… because that’s what every 2 year old loves, right?!

Shepherd Family – Real Life

FINALLY – a new post! I’ve been meaning to share this post for awhile and well I will be honest, just haven’t had time to post it until now! BUT this is quite possibly one of my favorite type of session to offer - real life. You’re probably thinking, but our life isn’t all that exciting? Oh no no no … it is so exciting and to be honest, you’re kids will look back and remember these moments of what you would typically be doing on a Saturday afternoon instead of the photo session you do for Holiday cards.

The Shepherd’s are one of my favorite families, no lie, and they’ve been with me since the beginning which is why I knew they would be such a fun family to capture in their everyday. Winter was still around, so we did a little baking inside and some dancing. Actually there was a LOT of dancing Take a look….

Regular sessions are still available, real life sessions are now an option for any time of year – whatever your real life consists of, I’d love to capture it for you!

Oliver is ONE! – Saint Paul Children’s Photography

The life of a child is truly amazing. The changes they go through especially in the first year absolutely blow my mind. I met Oliver and his parents last summer, those blue eyes had me from the first moment. Luckily, 6 short months later, he is still the same blue eyed little man but a whole lot taller and MOBILE! This last weekend I took a little venture to Saint Paul to photograph him for his 1 year session and my oh my is he CUTER than ever. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, but I can’t wait to see what he looks like the next time I see him – Zoe, I hope you’re ready for the girls to be all over him in a few short years

The Other Side

My first thought? Uncomfortable. You mean I need to come out from hiding behind my camera to be put INFRONT of it? Oh no! Once again my body was a pile of nerves at the idea of getting my own photo taken! Although this time I took a few steps to ensure I would really love these photos, my good friend Tina Rolek took great care of making me beautiful that day. She did my hair and makeup just for these photos and I have to say, it was the best decision I made. Having make-up professionally done really makes a difference in the images, and my hair — GAWH I wish it looked like that when I rolled out of bed every morning. Wouldn’t that be amazing?

My friend and amazing photographer, Emily Volk with Periwinkle and Mimi Photography, braved the cold temperature and wind to take these photos. I am eternally grateful for them – they turned out FANTASTIC! She is so talented and I’m grateful to call her a friend. Trust me, I’m the first person to understand how uncomfortable it is to be infront of the camera… so when I’m making my clients do these silly things to get that perfect shot… I’ve been there, I’ve done that. I’ve laughed ridiculously loud just to get that perfect image, or other silly things we do!

These images will forever mark this time in my life, I’m 28 years old and working hard to pursue my dreams of photography and fitness (more to come on that later). Thank you Emily and Tina for making me feel and look beautiful! XOXO

2012 Favorites

It’s one of my favorite times of year – the time to share favorites from the last season. I can’t believe how fast 2012 went by , it truly FLEW by but not without some incredible sessions with families, engagements, 2 fabulous weddings, and lots of little ones! Thank you everyone who trusted me to photograph them this last year, some days I have to pinch myself to remind me how lucky I am to do what I love every day!
