If you haven’t heard the big news by now, I am moving into a space downtown with Constance Boutique.

For years I have seen my friends and family move away from Marion and people ask me all the time why I stay here… I stay here because my family is here, I love my community, and I have invested in many friendships here. I stay here because I believe in this town and I want to see it make a turn around. Marion is conveniently placed right in between Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne and that is where a majority of my clients come from. I’ve held multiple workshops from my home and photographers have traveled here from as far as Washington State.

The cost of living in this community can not be compared to, we live in a beautiful bungalow style house that costs about $400.00 a month. Uhh hello??? Where else can you find cost of living like that???

We love sitting out on the porch and enjoying the fresh air, we live in a quite neighborhood with wonderful neighbors.

If we want to go to the park we can walk there along beautiful tree lined paths! Matter Park is kept so clean and my kids absolutely love it. For the bigger kids there is a Frisbee golf course, tennis courts, jogging paths, ponds, cookout stations, and much more.

Taylor University, and IWU are a huge part of this community, but where are these young people going on date nights and weekends? Out of town…The Mayor has done a great job bringing in new places to shop and places to eat but I would like to see the small businesses of this town come to life. We need a better sense of community and that’s something that big chain stores don’t lend themselves to kindly. So many people complain because they are unsatisfied living here but the reality is THAT THIS IS YOUR HOME. Either love it, support the businesses we have or go else where and continue complaining. We need your help, I want our new business to be a successful one and I would love to see others plant roots downtown. There are so many people in this town that would thrive on a more cultured downtown area of shops, bakeries, coffee houses, book stores, boutiques, art galleries, bars… etc. There is a group of us with a vision and we are asking you to believe and participate in that. Why can’t our city change? It’s simple… people have given up and simply have a crappy attitudes. We have all the same luxuries as a big city at a FRACTION OF THE COST.

Many of you will read this and think I am a dumb girl with a dream and that’s ok. I love this city, and I am choosing to live a positive life here, will you?

I have been searching and researching the possibility of renting a building downtown Marion since this past winter, nothing was working out but I tried to remain patient. God had something better in mind for ANP. Terah from Constance Boutique approached me about sharing a space with her store. I was immediately taken back because her style of clothing and decor match up perfectly with my photography. We take over the space in two weeks which means for the next month or so I will be extremely busy fixing up my space! I am sure we will have some type of grand opening/ party and you guys are welcome to stop by and say hello, I will keep you updated with that!  I am not going to be doing “studio” work, my space will be used for client consultations, session styling, a place for clients to get ready, seniors will get their hair + makeup done, and I will also be starting in person ordering sessions.

With all of that being said I am not booking any new clients until August or beyond. I still plan to shoot 1 session per week, if things go smoothly with the new building I will try adding in more sessions. I have been loving spending so much time with my family, and I am still thankful I changed up my schedule!

Next Thursday I am hosting another Photographer Get Together! We are having a cookout at my house and after that a free shoot out! It’s going to be a casual and relaxed environment. She is full of life and energy! We did her session in two parts, one with straight hair and the other with some soft waves. I was happy to hear she was going to be attending Taylor University next school year even though she is going to be living in Olson, (just kidding Whitney you know I have to represent English girls)!
