ruby, it's you

2016-05-29T14:00:00.000-07:00

I recently received the Ruby Auto Rotating Curler from Irresistible Me and was so excited to try it! Since I chopped all of my hair off, using my normal curling wand has become trickier and burns more frequent as holding onto the small amount of length isn't the easiest. The Ruby hair curler easily clamps onto the ends of my hair and with the push of a button, curls right to the roots! I was a bit worried that my hair would just slip out of the clamp because I have really fine hair, but it held on tight. It rotates both ways, so I can alternate the direction of curls for a more tousled look. If you're feeling lazy, it's also great for just touching up the ends instead of going all the way with the curls.

It's also pretty fun to use. I just pretend like I have a robot assistant that does my hair for me, because I guess I kind of do?

denim dress- tobi [here], romper (layered underneat)- reformation

i love the raw denim look of this shift dress. here, i've layered it with a high neck romper/bodysuit, but its also perfect worn by itself for the warm summer days ahead.

to keep cool and covered, pair it with one of these cute crop tops and you're good to go!

Another look I threw together for Maude. Lately, my wardrobe has consisted of neutrals, denim and leather. I'm trying to make some space in my closet by holding off on trendy pieces.

I've been painting life away in the studio lately, although nothing great has come from it yet. Maybe soon I'll have something worthwhile to share.

Well, I'm back and planning to stick around. School got busy, work got busy and life got busy...if "busy" means watching Netflix and eating Panda Express on the reg. As I mentioned in the last random post, a lot has changed in my life. I've gained (and lost) a few new hobbies, interests and relationships that caused me to stray from social media for a bit which certainly hasn't been a bad thing. Now I'm back and feeling pretty jAzZeD uP and excited to get some things accomplished in the next few months. I'll probably be straying just a teeny bit from my usual personal style posts, throwing in a bit of my art work and life adventures.

What has everyone been up to over the summer? Time to play catch up!

Its been a good 4 months since my last post. So much has happened, but I'll get to that soon. I recently received this navy and red plaid coat from Rose Wholesale and I can already tell it will be my go-to coat this winter. Also, I need to talk about this Chanel top. I scored this silk beauty at Grey Dog, my favorite local vintage shop (you can also find them on instagram @greydogboutique) for $10. It needs a lot of love, but I took it as a fun challenge. There will be a whole other post on that ; )

I'll be fillin' ya in on everything that has been going on in my life soon. In the meantime, I'd love to hear what everyone else has been up to! Let's talk : )

It safe to say that I've been MIA for quite some time. I put things on hold last semester when life got a little busy. Lately, I've been living in basics. My wardrobe currently consists of black, white, taupe, navy, army green and lots of denim. Leather has also been sneaking its way back into my wardrobe, even though its been 90+ degrees outside. Whatever, it happens.

p.s. my lovely friend, Danielle Green (makeup artist/journalist/stylist extraordinaire) and her beau Connor Brogan (of Move Orchestra) started up a new photo project, L A Y E R S, and you'll be seeing a couple more amazing photo sets from them here soon. Follow them on facebook here!

Once again the awesome people over at Dahlia Wolf create a piece inspired by me! They found inspiration in a photo I posted of a dress with a cutout and created this fun crop top with a similar cutout. I love the color for Spring. It would be so cute paired with a full white skirt! For a limited time, you can pre-order it for only $34!

I received this tribal print dress and it went perfectly with the necklace I made a few weeks ago!

My first look of 2014! I have big plans for this year, but who doesn't? I'll hopefully be graduating from college and begin my search for a 'big girl job,' which will mean a lot of work and travel ahead. I'm ready for another great year!

With only a couple of weeks left until classes start, I'm already dreading walking to class in the freezing cold! I found these great coats at Sheinside.com that would be oh so perfect to keep me warm on the way to class! I just can't decided which one.

Which is your favorite?!

The awesome people at Bella Luxx sent me these pants and let me tell ya...they're amazing! They're the most comfortable terry knit material so it feels like you never stepped out of your jammies, but the black and navy is super sophisticated. I always love sporty pieces paired with a great blazer.

p.s. please ignore the cat hair embedded in the detail shorts. its part of my every day life.

NYE Ready!

2013-12-18T08:23:00.000-08:00

romper c/o missguided, tights c/o missguided

For this look, I collaborated with Missguided to put together a New Year's Eve look! I saw this great embellishee romper and thought it was perfect. Not everyone feels comfortable partying in a dress all night, so a romper would be the perfect alternative! And lets face it- if you settle on wearing a hot little mini you'll be freezing all night. I paired the romper with semi-sheer tights and a fringe jacket to stay warm! Also, Litas are the perfect party shoe because they're tall, bold AND comfortable.

What will you be wearing on NYE?

Today (well, technically yesterday now) was my birthday! Unfortunately I have lost my voice from being sick, so I could only whisper or awkwardly squeak all day. My bf snapped some quick photos of what I wore to work before I headed out! I looove this wooly clutch from Nastygal.

2013-11-25T08:03:00.001-08:00

dress c/o Dahlia\Wolf {HERE}, ring-Vince Camuto, booties-Old Navy

I recently collaborated with the peeps over at Dahlia\Wolf to create this super fun dress! Despite its punchy print, its very versatile. For Fall, I paired it with a cool grey scarf and navy booties. I love a color scheme mixing cool and warm hues. I can't wait to wear it in the Spring and Summer with all white accessories! I'm also having dreams of wearing it with a turtleneck or collared shirt layered underneath for the colder months. The fringe detailing gives so much movement and personality to the dress-I got sooo many compliments when I wore it!

For a limited time, you can pre-order it [HERE] for 30% off!

If there's anything I love, its a great basic with a quirky detail. How cool is the collar on this shirt? I love the playful element it adds to a classic white button up. I kept it business by adding a blazer and my most sophisticated Coach loafer heels, then threw in more complimentary fun with these perfect faux leather pants in one of Fall's favorite colors-oxblood.
