Ashop always rides with style, whether its gearing up to rock a 50 foot mural or painting a concept piece for a luxury client like Audi.

This commission canvas is a concept we like to call the ''puzzle piece'' (and thats a trademark folks so no copies!) It was executed in Victoria BC as a live performance during a dinner where Audi presented its new R8 model to their top clients. Created by Ankh One, the painting is a play on the signature R8 parallelogram logo. The total canvas measures 5'x6', but breaks down into 30 smaller pieces that were each presented as a gift to Audi's guests and clients. Each small canvas is hand signed, and adorned with the Audi R8 logo. Much attention was paid to the placement of elements on the canvas in order to have an interesting design on each separate piece. When put together, these designs take form and reveal bits of the R8, motor parts and a driver. 

This huge 95'x17' mural is on the west wall of the Mercier Library at 8105 Hochelaga street. An original creation by Ankh One, Dodo Ose and Zek One, it is inspired by the mutiple cultural activities showcased within the library. Dance, film, sculpture, poetry, origami and of course, graffiti art, each find their place within the composition of the mural. The Muse and the Sage characters represent the spontaneous inspiration and calculated reflection that are at the base of any successful artistic creation. These two opposing forces complement each other in the passionate expression of creativity. The area that encompasses the Muse is more organic and free-flowing, whereas the section inhabited by the Sage is decorated with linear elements that are more typical to the left hemisphere of the mind.

This wall took a total of 14 days to accomplish with three of Montreals best muralists working at it full time.

Expo Québec is a 10 day long family fair that includes amusement rides, two music stages and tons of interactive activities to participate in. The 2014 program included a show by the infamous Wu-Tang Clan, Luchadores, paintball, a wake-board competition and a huge urban arts zone entirely curated and organized by A'shop. With a total of more than 32 000 square feet, the urban arts zone covered two areas that had five different interactive activities deployed within the 10 days of the event. This project mobilized a team of 21 artists who catered to a crowd of over 130 000 people and was made possible with the help of our sponsors at Kia Motors.

For last year's #lennoxartproject we painted some murals that were animated using digital projections. The project was amazing, and by the end of it we were already brainstorming ideas for the 2016 campaign. Then during a creative brainstorm with Kyle from GSD&M (The firm in charge of #lennoxartproject) the Eureka moment happened. We would use thermochromic paint for our murals. A paint influenced by the very element that Lennox excels at controlling. However, it had never yet reached its full potential by being used in a fine arts context. The fit was perfect.

Using a new technology opened up a world of opportunity for us. We now had a chance to express a whole new dimension to our artwork. The element of duality and transition  really inspired the central theme for the project. We used this angle to create five transformative murals that represent the five pillars at Lennox: Purity, Solar, Adaptive, Quiet, and Balance.
