about how she dresses, how she can't sing the way she used to, and her marriage with Nickelodeon host Nick Cannon.

Even though, I still like this sensational singer and I think she's the best out there. Therefore, I would emphasize on this blog entry the things I love about Mariah Carey.

First, she's a very flexible singer. She can go from ballad to pop to RnB and could even rap. Her famous songs which include the titles, Hero, Fantasy, Vision of Love, Honey, Breakdown, One Sweet Day, We Belong Together, It's Like That, and Touch My Body are not from the same genre.

Remember the lines "And if she's got your head all messed up now that's the trickery. She'll wanna have like you know how this lovin' used to be. I bet she can't do like me. She'll never be MC." from Don't Forget About Us? That's surprisingly a rapping Mariah.

Second, her songs are timeless. Have you just recently heard Always Be My Baby on the radio or played by your neighbor? Do you still find yourself enjoying it? That's my point exactly. In case you do not know, that song topped the US charts way back 1996. That's 12 years ago.

Third, she's not boring. She comes up with a new single, tops the charts, then releases a remix which you seem to enjoy as much as the original.

Fourth, she comes up with a new material every now and then. With every new album, she's amazing and even though she's very successful already, she still composes new songs and is very eager to promote her albums as if she badly needs money.

Fifth, she's a great composer. Most of her songs have these intellectual verses on them. Songs like Heartbreaker, Cruise Control, For The Record, Breakdown, Dreamlover, Side Effects, Whenever You Call, and others are proof of her versatility and wit.

Lastly, she's a great performer. I know, I know some of her performances are not that good, but still, most are great and I have included some links of these live performances -- I Still Believe+FlyLike A Bird, I'll Be Lovin You Long Time, Vision of Love, and Heartbreaker.

MC had her share of good and bad performances, shameful mistakes, and successes and struggles. Despite that, a lot of people love her that's why she has this record of 18 number 1 singles. She may not sing like how she used to 20 or so years ago but she still is amazing. Plus, who else could hit that whistle note beautifully? Simply the best.

Guys, What Turns You Off?

You see, when you are a guy and you see a girl, you normally look at the face then the body (or the other way around). Guys tend to be easily attracted to ladies who are good-looking and confident. But here, we would discuss what turns a guy off.

I learned that no matter how attracted they are to a certain woman, like how pretty she is or how voluptuous she is, if they see something wrong with her, they might think twice on striking a conversation, asking for your number, or pursuing a friendship.

Moving on, I asked my friends the question "What turns them off and why?" and here are their answers and comments:

1. Bad breath
Otherwise called as foul breath, Halitosis, breath odor, or oral malodor; bad breath could be a very serious problem hygienically. Whatever you call it, it doesn't change the fact that it's the top major turn off according to these guys.

"That's what I hate the most. It's like she has a very poor hygiene. If she can't make her breath smell fresh or odor less, then what about the other parts of her body?" --Ricky

"Even if she's really pretty but she has bad breath, that would make me want to turn my head and look at something else, something else but her." --Austin

"If she has a bad breath, then I won't talk to her face-to-face. I would feel really awkward talking to her." --Macky

2. Jologs
Jolog or Jologs as defined in the Urban Dictionary is a term for someone who is tacky, but implied in a more negative tone and often referred to people who belong to the lower class of society. Generally, someone who acts like an uneducated person, is unfashionable, vulgar, wannabe, or rude can be classified as a Jologs or Jologs.

"If she's jologs, she probably would make my head ache. And for sure we won't get along well with each other." -IC

"I don't want a cheap-looking and tactless woman." --Teddy

3. Dark, hairy armpit
This is one of the major problems that not only some teenage girls but also other women have. Dark armpits may be result of shaving, plucking, or usage of wrong deodorant. Thank god we have laser hair removal, whitening creams, and other natural ways to whiten underarms. As for the hair, you can work on that, can't you?

"Hair on armpit is a total turn off. It's disguting." --Georwin

"It looks really, really dirty. Gross." --Jay

4. Unfashionable
This is very vague. First off, we really don't know the definition of fashionable in the guys' sense. Plus the fact that guys' preferences are different. While some like women who dress simple, some, on the other hand, like girls who dress extravagantly.

"I don't like women who don't know how to dress up. She should know how and what to wear depending on the occasion." --Lep

5. Yellow teeth
Having yellow teeth might be because of your genes, the food and liquid you eat like some fruits or coffee, or a bad habit like smoking.

"If she has yellow teeth, then it's a turn off. I don't know. She should do something about it. If you have a very white complexion and your teeth are yellow, it's very obvious. Do something." --Peter

6. Untidy
Even us, ladies, like guys who are neat. Tidiness is something that could be a really good trait. If you look and smell clean, people would want to talk and come close to you.

A lady should be neat all over from hair to toenails. --Jaycee

7. Childish
Let's admit it. Most guys prefer classy, matured women. This is one of the reasons why some guys go for women older that them. Even if you are not old, it would be a big factor if you can act elegant and smart.

I don't like someone who acts childish. I definitely prefer someone who's more matured. --Megs

8. Ugly eyes
The eyes are one of the major components of our face. With our eyes, we could even express our feelings without saying anything. Some relationships start with eye contact. No wonder some guys go for women with beautiful eyes.

"I like ladies who possess beautiful, expressive eyes. It's what I look for before anything else. So if you have ugly eyes..." --Sonny

9. Insecurity
Self-esteem go hand-in-hand with confidence, however; if a certain lady is insecure with people around her, some guys jump into conclusion. Eventually he'll also think of her the way she thinks of herself and no guy would want a lady who doesn't feel beautiful when she's with him.

It’s a turn-off to guys particularly to me when girl starts to catch insecurity by means of their substantial exterior, for I’m certain a gentleman similar to me doesn’t just make their girl feel gorgeous but also magnificent. But still they tend to get insecure… TURN OFF! --Johnreich

Couple of Emotions

It’s funny how things sometimes turn upside down and before you even realize it, the reason which you’ve been holding on for so long is now a nightmare that makes you tired and pointlessly running to nowhere whenever you sleep at night.

The moment that I knew it was not anymore worth it. I cried. I thought I could not move on. I thought I couldn’t live another day because the pain is killing me. I even wished I’d just die. But here I am now, not knowing where to go but still standing... standing under the rain.

It’s funny that everywhere I go, I see you. The places that I go to are places were we used to go. The food I eat I used to share with you. The movies I watch are those that we planned to watch together. I wonder if there will come a time wherein I’d go somewhere and it won’t remind me of you.

pRO Wild Card 2008 Nomination Phase

Only yesterday that I was informed of this very good marketing strategy of Level Up! Games. This is regarding the Wild Card Nomination Phase for this coming Ragnarok World Championships 2008.

First and foremost, in case you don't know it yet, Ragnarok World Championships 2008 would be held in our country, the Philippines.

Back to the topic, thing is, the guild with the most number of votes for the Wild Card 2008 Nomination Phase all across pRO servers could choose a prize between a Sleipnir and a Brysingamen. These two items are not just ordinary equipments. These are like the Legendary Items of WoW (Sulfuras and Thunderfury). So to be able to have equipments like these just by being the guild with the highest number of votes through topping up game time (without going through all those grinding, quests, and stuff) is like trading Zeny or items for PhP. And this is just nomination phase.

You see, the Nomination Phase will determine the 10 guilds (top 10 for each server) that could participate the actual Wild Card Voting Phase. And all scores would be reset to zero. So if you are already sure that your guild’s included in the top 10, you can put your and your supporters’ money to rest and reserve everything for the Voting Phase. But... but if you want to acquire the God Item (Sleipnir or Brysingamen), then you should bomb the top-up page and make sure that your guild’s the number one on the list across all servers. That alone would mean much money.

Level Up! Games also did this last year but the God Items were for the guild with the highest number of votes per server. This year, like what I said earlier, it’s for the guild with the highest number of votes on all the servers. So instead of fewer rivals (guilds in your server), you would compete with all the guilds in pRO to be able to get that top spot.

On the brighter side, this is okay since the in-game economy and PvP won’t be that much affected for only one God Item would be released. I think the guild who would be receiving this God Item would be †Lord of Elementals† of Freya server since the Nomination Phase officially ended today, June 18 3PM. Upon checking the list just now, they have 22,699 votes/points. Next to them is Vanquish of Valkyrie server with 16,747 votes. I’m not sure of it is updated though.

If we were to compute how much †Lord of Elementals† supporters spent to be able to have 22,699 votes, we would assume that all the points were done by topping up P500 denomination load. P500 load converted either to game time or ROK Points is equal to just 60 votes. So divide 22,699 with 60 and you’ll get 378.32. How much is 378 pieces of P500 load? P189,000 and this is only from one guild. That’s a lot of money if you’d ask me but it’s their money after all not mine. Heheh.

Moving forward, to finish this post, I could say that the pRO Marketing Team (or whatever their department’s name is) is doing quite a good job considering that only few people are still playing pRO, they could still acquire that much money.

Incredible Hulk

The timing of my newly made glasses is just right. After all, she mentioned that the quiz was kind of accurate. =) The result I got was that I'm

The Sonnet

Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLD)

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?

Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.

Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.

You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

Your exact female opposite:

Genghis Khunt

Random Brutal Sex Master

Always avoid: The 5-Night Stand (DBSM), The False Messiah (DBLM), The Hornivore (RBSM), The Last Man on Earth (RBSD)

Consider: The Loverboy (RGLM)

Link: The Online Dating Persona Test OkCupid - personals Dating

Annoying People

Inspired by HolyTaco.com's 8 Types of Annoying People You'll Find Inside Starbucks, I decided to create my own list of annoying people you might encounter in your everyday life. See the list below.

1. Mr./Ms. know-it-all -- We all know that you're really good. So good that you know all
the species of the Animal Kingdom, every ingredient needed to make every dish and where they could be bought, you've been around the world and you memorized all the capitals of every city, and you know every disease possible to infect mankind. You even have your own definition of racism, criticism, defamation, and abuse. Beat that! and get a life.

2. Whining b*tch -- Yes the line is long, and it's sooo hot but you need not rant about it every freakin second because obviously, other people could see/feel it too. We don't need you to say "Geez it's so hot... so hot... so hot... so hot... so hot... so hot... so hot... so hot... so hot..." when in fact it's 40°C and we are both standing outside waiting for a taxi cab. Your whining makes the weather hotter, really.

3. Careless individuals -- They're everywhere. At the grocery store bumping your cart. On the road not slowing down on pedestrian lanes and watery areas. On the bus slapping you with their oversized shoulder bags. Stepping on your toes inside the train. On the jeepney feeding you with their hair. Their umbrellas flooding the restaurant entrance. etc. etc. etc. Please. Be a little considerate. Okay?

4. Local celebrities' solid fans -- The world neither revolves around Angel Locsin nor Marian Rivera. So, if an endorser dropped Rivera for Locsin, guess what? we don't freakin care. Besides, we would never ever choose Dyesebel or Lobo over The Office, 2 and a half men, South Park, or NBA.

5. Hard headed sales person -- Yes, we know it's your job but what part of NO don't you understand? Once is okay. Twice is still okay. But thrice and onwards is stubbornness. We respect you and you should respect that our time is important too.

=/

When I start to feel that I'm not important to a person, I take the initiative to stay away. David Cook won the recently concluded American Idol Season 7. I got nothing much to say. I’m kinda disappointed since I was hoping that David Archuleta would win. But anyway, David Cook is also a talented guy. It’s just that I don’t like his style of singing. Well, Archuleta is still young so he still has more chances for things like this.

Moving forward, I was surprised with the appearance of Renaldo Lapuz on the finale. Plus a video of Gladys Knight (with backup dancers Robert Downey Jr. (Ironman), Ben Stiller, and Jack Black) was shown. And Ramiele Malubay was there along with the other 9 of Top 12. So, I guess thississit. I’m sorry I’m too lazy to write.

Photo from http://american-idol.tk/

How I wish I'm in Vegas right now

because Calvin Klein just sent me this...

David Archuleta - Stand By Me

Why haven't I blogged about this yet?

Anyway, in case you still haven't seen it, David Archuleta’s performance last week is really awesome. There’s no such known reason on why they transformed into something like an unknown individual to you, or like a complete stranger.

I would so much understand if you were unable to see each other, or if the person lives so far away, or if you have no way to communicate but that’s not the scenario here. The thing is, you see each other every now and then, or you even have a way to say hi and hello, whether through mobile phone or IM. You even made an effort to speak to the person but you were treated like a drop of water that evaporated into the air and vanished.

Dang! People are really complicated most of the times.

Wakeboarding?

Wakeboarding, will this be my new hobby?

A day after my first try for this sport, these are the things that would make me say yes and no to the question above.

YES
- Fun. No matter what sport I play, I have so much fun.
- Adventure. The thrill and enjoyment for each try. The stunts and moves you are about to learn. The danger (that's right) that you are about to face, all that in wakeboarding.
- Exercise. This will be like my exercise.
- Water.

NO
- Expenses. This sport is expensive. The board+shoes cost around $1000 (here in the Philippines); suits, which include vest, helmet, gloves, wetsuit, boardshorts, etc. costs A LOT depending on the brand (A Billabong board shorts may cost more or less than $100); each session approx. $50.
- Pain. Body pain that is, expect a lot of that in wakeboarding including bruises, cuts, etc.

So? I don't know. I guess I might try again for a couple of times and see if this sport is for me. Hee hee.

Goodbye American Idol for Ramiele Malubay

This is so sad. Well, my past few weeks have been kinda busy with all the work and stuffs for the holy week, easter, plus we went to the beach and a resort at Bulacan which is not really far from my place.

Oh well, it was awesome. I hope to go to more places this summer whether alone, with my loved ones, or with my friends.

So, why am I here? Nothing really. I just felt like writing. Coz I’m happy. There’s no reason particularly.

I know. This is kinda odd. Coz before, whenever I’m naturally high or really, really happy, it’s because of “happiness” whom I consider is really close to me (even though it doesn’t feel the same way towards me).

I don’t know. Maybe because the way things are going now is much better for me and for everyone else. There are no complications, no hopes, and no pains. It’s just that, sometimes, I miss the way things are. You know, looking forward to that “happiness” on each and every early morning that will pass by. “Happiness” knows that I look forward to it every day. “Happiness” even laughed at it.

Now, will I solely consider “happiness” to be my happiness? I guess not anymore. But I do miss it. So much.

The Winning Airhead

In case you still do not know, Janina San Miguel, the current title holder, flunked the Question and Answer portion of the recently concluded Bb. I have no contest on that but she’s now famous and immediately became a laughing stock of the country. (My Anti-Rabies Injection)

Last Friday when I was at my cousin’s house, out of luck and was in a hurry to pee, a kitten bit me. It was lying pretty on the bathroom floor when I entered and I did not notice it. It was so small, around 6-8 inches, and colored gray. Unfortunately, I haven’t turned on the lights yet that’s why I did not see it.

At first I didn’t mind it. I thought that it was “just a bite” and wouldn’t do any harm. But then, my cousin told me that I should go to the hospital now and get an anti-rabies injection. I asked why and she told me that his father and elder sister were bitten too by that kitten and they had their injection already. I was like “What? That serious?” Then she told me that cats have rabies too just like dogs. She also warned me that she doesn’t want to see me later on acting epileptic and with bubbling lips. What the heck? That gave me a fright.

So I decided to go to the hospital the next day. [Gosh! I didn’t know that a cat bite could be this serious.] I went to World Citi Medical Center because it’s one of the most accessible hospitals from my place. It’s just beside Anonas LRT2 Station. I called in advance to ensure that someone will take care of me as soon as I get there.

When I arrived at the hospital, a nurse attended on me immediately. I told her that I had a cat bite (duh!) and would like to have an anti-rabies injection. She then asked some questions, like where did the cat bit me, etc. and told me to fill up a form. After that, she gets my blood pressure count and we both waited for the doctor to arrive (The doctor went out for a while).

When the doctor came, he asked some questions and explained to me how the process will go (Note to self at that moment: Omigosh). He told me that there would be 5 sessions. The first one was today, and then dates will be scheduled for the next 4. He told me that following the dates is strictly enforced so I don’t have a choice but to come again for that next 4 sessions. He also told me to buy the same brand for the anti-rabies. It was something like “Verorub”. I’m quite not sure of the spelling. I had the nurse write it on a piece of paper (lol).

Then the nurse called me as she arranged the curtains to cover the bed. I was really puzzled at that moment on why she has to arrange the curtains. After that she told me that to relax as she rubs the cottonball on my left arm. She then injected the first two vaccines. I showed her my left arm again for the third one but she told me that the last one would be injected on my butt. At first I thought she was kidding so I didn’t move. She then told me to lie down and face backwards. I then told her, “Di nga? Seryoso?” (Really? Are you serious?) She told me that the needle is too big so it has to be injected on the butt. So I had no choice and faced backwards.

After that, the nurse gave me the schedule for my next sessions and the name of the anti-rabies vaccine that I have to buy. It costs P2,000 according to the doctor so all in all, that cat bite cost me P12,000 pesos. Bad kitty! Grrrrr!

Vantage Point Movie

Yesterday, I watched Vantage Point...

Warning: Clicking "Read More..." will reveal spoilers

Vantage Point was awesome, really action-packed and full of breathtaking scenes. I just hate it when the moviemakers know when to cut the scene and transfer to another vantage point. It was like, there it was – the climax for that scene, you were eager to see what would happen next, and then damn, a white screen and an “11:59:xx” something time displayed on the lower left corner. Hahaha!

The story evolves on the planned assassination of the President of the United States. Scenes were cut to different point of views – the TV Network, Dennis Quaid (the President’s bodyguard/secret service agent), Forest Whitaker (an American tourist), the terrorists (who planned the assassination), the US President (as himself), and the local Policeman (who was somehow connected to one of the terrorists).

The President was shot the moment he was to deliver his speech and the bomb explosions followed. Pretty simple storyline except that you actually feel like you were part of that scenario. The way they delivered the point of views of the people involved was fascinating. The rendition was not perfect but was concealed by the great action scenes that, like what I previously said, were breathtaking.

The car chase was fantastic. It’s like watching Fast and the Furious (because of the amazing driftings) and Gone in 60 Seconds at the same time. The actors were excellent. Dennis Quaid is a really good actor. I love him since The Parent Trap, In Good Company, and The Day After Tomorrow. Totally, he was the x-factor of this movie. Forest Whitaker did a good job too. It’s like you could feel his emotions, you know, the way he cared for the little girl.

To sum it up, Vantage Point is a good movie, probably the best so far for 2008 and definitely a must-watch.

I have to warn you guys though (those who haven’t watched), because there are several first-person-view shots and the camera gets really shaky at times. These might make you feel nauseous. I didn’t, maybe because I’m used to those. I didn’t even get dizzy when I watched Cloverfield. Hehe! Have fun!
