Thankful Thursday

I greatly thank God for the many preaching engagements this week. Last Sunday I did the sermon at the church upon a very short notice from our Senior Minister. Whew! I burned my midnigth candle studying His words... I have a wonderful time with the Lord. Indeed His words will not come back to us void.

Last night after our mid-week fellowship, we rushed to a funeral service . God spoke again to the people about Life and Death. I greatly Thank God for using me as a herald of His Words.

Seeing my children giving their lives for the work of the ministry is a fulfillment to us. My heart cries for joy as I see my little girl dancing during Praise and Worship ( She’s in the Tambourine Ministry). My 13-yrs old son is active also in the Creative Ministry – He’s into drama, singing and modern dance. Now he is learning lead and rhythm guitar for the Band. Hallelujah! Thank you Lord!

On Car Maintenance

Car Maintenance is very much essential for keeping your car in good working condition. This is the reason why I keep a chart at our garage to monitor the various maintenance schedule of our cars. I believe that proper and regular maintenance, my car will last longer and I can also save a lot of money as well. I enrolled in a short term course 10 years ago to orient myself with the basic principles of automotive. It’s really hard to rely always on the mechanic for trouble shooting. Thank God, I am able to do many aspects of car maintenance and minor repairs on my own. I change my own car oil...so that means a lot of savings. Of course for the tire alignments, engine checking and other major repairs, I’ll go to my mechanic.

Last week, I bought 4 sets of brand new tires for our vehicle. Thanks to the Tire Review I read online, it greatly helped me choose the best brand. Yah! It would be confusing what to purchase especially their are various of brands in the market. Some were made in China,Thailand, India and Japan. I was able to spend a bigger amount but it’s really worth for a higher and better brand.

My Carpentry Works

We will be away for three days for a Family Camp somewhere in the mountains. It’s an annual activity of the church wherein families will gather together for leaning and bonding sessions. This is the first time we will hold the event on mountain side.... the past 6 years were held at various beach resort. It is timely because of the”El Niño “ phenomena that hit our city. Time for some refreshing cold air in a forest surrounded mountain resort.

After the event,I will be back with my project – minor renovation and improvement of the kids room. I thought of hiring a carpenter to do the works but it’s hard to find a trusted one this time. I changed my mind and do it my self. Anyway, it’s just carpentry 101 ... so I guess I can do it. All I need are some saw blades to cut the plywood for the room extension and paint brush for the painting works. Because it is summer here in our country, the kids can also help me in doing errands. This is a good on-the-job training for them... it’s a great wat of bonding together also.It’s more fulfilling to see the work done with love.

Tagaytay Trip

Last November 2009, we have been given the chance to visit my husband’s sister in Cavite. They prepared for us a time to bond in nearby places that we surely enjoyed. One of this is in Tagaytay. We even visited a big Casino where millionaires and those who wants to find their luck play. We’re curious to see what’s inside a Casino so that we decided to get inside the place. We saw many people playing poker games and slot machines. We even witnessed an old lady who hit a jackpot. We really enjoyed that trip so much and I remember my friend who informed me that there’s now this so called, Online casinos where anybody can play it in the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately, camera and cellphone were not allowed inside, we were not able to take pictures.

True to the saying" There's no Place like Home"... we arrived home yesterday with excite ment and joy yot see the kids again after a week of business trip. We missed them so much although every night we talked on phone while on the trip. We missed sleeping on our room...Ahhh eventhough how comfy the beds of the hotels , they are nothing compared to our very own bedroom . Home truly is where the heart is!
