You can go to a traditional Thai cooking class that includes healthy dishes like coconut and chicken soup, papaya salad, extra spicy lemongrass soup and banana coconut ice cream dessert.

Here's a really fun day trip to the ancient city of Ayutthaya's temples by boat on the busy Chao Phraya River . You get to see a whole different view of Thailand from the river viewpoint. This is a favorite day trip of mine from Bangkok. This is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Plan a whole day here and bring your camera.

Another favorite place for me in China Town where you'll see gold merchants selling gold bhat chains of every description, gem stores and antique shops that will simply amaze you. Plan a whole day here and bring your camera.

You'll see a lot of Thai silk shops in Bangkok that will tailor just about anything you ask for. Bring you favorite shirt, jacket and dress and they will make an exact copy in the silk you choose.

My favorite hotel is the Oriental Hotel on the Chao Phraya River. The restaurants are awesome, the location is the best and the service is exquisite. It is walking distance to China Town and there are boats at ready our front.

DAY 1: LUBUAN BAJO

You arrive at Labuan Bajo, and transports to our speedboat to take you to our traditional sailboat. Then you will be having a nice lunch then getting prepared for the sailing cruise in the beautiful tropical near waters of Komodo. We will drop anchor for the night at Gililawa Laut.
DAY 2: GILILAWA LAUT

In Gililawa Laut you will have an exciting day of swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving in pristine waters full of colorful tropical fish and lovely seashells. That afternoon we hike up to a local summit to experience the extraordinary views of the surrounding islands.
DAY 3: BANTA

Then, we depart early to sail to the island of Banta at the border of the National Park where you can choose a wide range of activities: kayaking, swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving.
DAY 4: KOMODO

This spectacular experience is a rare encounter with wild Komodo Dragons, the world’s largest lizard. The park rangers are very experienced and know the dragons habits. After that thrilling and rare experience we take you to the renowned Pink Beach where you can enjoy the rest of the day relaxing on the beach or exploring the rich marine environment.
DAY 5: PADAR

We sail to Padar Island which is an awesome place for snorkeling, scuba diving or simply sunbathing. You may enjoy beach-combing for exotic seashells on secluded beaches.
DAY 6: BATU MUNCUL

Starts on the lovely white sand beaches of Batu Muncul. Again, the activities include swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling. We wrap up the day with adelicious barbeque under the stars.
DAY 7: DEPARTURE FROM LUBUAN BAJO

We depart early in the morning and sail to Labuan Bajo harbour. After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport by car.

A couple things you should never do when traveling abroad.

After traveling the world for 50 years I've learned how to avoid a lot of fatal mistakes. Here's a couple very important things you should never do.

1. I learned this the hard way. I was discussing my upcoming trip to Bangkok with a good friend who offered me some advise. "Bob, you can save a ton of money by not using the the transportation companies at the airport. Just walk across from the airport and take a tuk tuk, one of those three wheeled taxis. They cost a tenth of what the hotels and tour operators charge"

I thought that sounded good and I could save $50 so I took his advise. My plane landed about midnight so I was a bit tired. I was dressed well and had an aluminum Halliburton suitcase and briefcase so I could easily manage to carry it across the street to where I spotted a row of the tuk tuks waiting. I picked one and loaded my suitcase in the back but kept my briefcase with me. "Oriental Hotel?" I asked.The young man nodded yes and off we went.

About half an hour later the driver pulled into a dark alley, stopped and took off running. Two men with masks stepped up on each side of the Tuk Tuk. One grabbed my suitcase and took off the other tried to grab my briefcase. We struggled for a couple minutes and I managed to free the briefcase. The guy then pulled a knife. I jumped out of the back seat and into the front using my briefcase as a shield. Fortunately the engine was still running so I stepped on the gas and headed for the street. I drove all the way to the Oriental Hotel before I realized I was bleeding from a slash on my neck.

Here's what you need to know. I any big city the crooks know you are usually loaded with money and cameras and things of value when you first land in their city. You might as well have a neon sign saying, "Come and get me". You are not only vulnerable, you are a high priority target. Take my advise, use a well known travel advisor that specializes in the destination you are visiting. They will arrange your transportation with the right company, and often get you a special rate, far less and far safer than the airport authorities offer. Travel advisors often get free transportation provided by the hotels offered to them for their service.

2. You've probably heard about deals you get from money changers in the black market. Forget it! You will usually get ripped off, and are often targeted by the money changer for a split of the money the robber gets from you. My advise, go to the local bank and exchange what you need for the next couple days. If you want to use an ATM, don't use one unless its inside the bank. Don't carry too much cash around. If you happen to purchase an item of high value, arrange ahead of time for the merchant to come to your hotel and use the hotel manager to oversee the transaction. Again, use your travel advisor. If in doubt, don't do it.

Dubai is is exceptionally unique. It's the biggest city in the United Arab Emirates that has grown at a dazzling pace. Dubai airport is now one of the most important hubs in the world and has made travel to Africa and the Indian Ocean a much easier proposition.

Shopping is by far the biggest lure to Dubai, however there are many more attractions. The Mall of the Emirates' Ski Dubai park has five ski slopes and a huge indoor snow park where you can snowboard, toboggan, bobsled or just frolic in the snow.

There are Bedouin safari adventures where you can experience the desert on camels and stay in luxurious tents, eat great cuisine and watch exotic belly dancers.

Dubai has spa's galore. One of the best is at the Bab Al Sham Resort built like a desert oasis with numerous tiered pools shaded by palm trees and cooled by beautiful fountains.

If you like to golf, the Al Badai Golf Club is a must play experience. Trent Jones II designed the par 72, 7300 yard course with beautiful greens and a fine driving range.

What a great trip. I have had the opportunity to see a few places in the world and I found India unique in many ways. I have not stayed in nicer hotels or had better service. Our guide, Puneet Dan, was smart, fun, flexible and very customer oriented. I hesitate to make suggestions because it may sound as if I had a less than wonderful time. However, I think some of these observations may be useful for future clients of yours. 1. The elephant experience can be missed. It is a bit hokey. The venue is nice but the ride is not at the top of my experience.

2. For me Varanasi was the highlight.

3. The driving trip to Udaipur may have been too long.

4. I always felt safe.

5. I loved the crowds, noise and action. The Dawali celebration was a bonus. I am once again appreciative of your work. You are a true professional who works tirelessly for your clients.
