Drinking carrot juice daily is also good.

If you eat some dates and drink warm water, it will help to remove cough and to cure Asthma.

Try taking two spoons Ginger juice with Honey. It gives some relief from Asthma.Mixing one teaspoon of honey in a glass of water and having it 3 times in a day is also a very good home remedy for asthma and a lot more ( I will write about honey on a different day, it needs It's own page).

Steamed ginger tea with minced garlic cloves should be given twice a day.
In blender add together radish, honey and lemon juice and cook on low flame. Have one teaspoon of it everyday in the morning.
Soak dry grapes in a bowl of water at night and the next morning keep it in cold milk for half an hour and then chew them. This is also very effective.

Regular Precautions For Asthma Sufferers:
In order relieve congested lungs and stimulate the skin, the patient should perspire through steam bath, hot hip bath, sunbath and hot footbath.
Garlic cloves boiled in 30 gms of milk should be given daily to patient. It is a good remedy for asthma.
Air, sun and water are also great healing agents. The patient should be made to sit in fresh air for sometime daily and avoid dusty places, very cold places, mental worries and tension.
In 125 ml of water, add 4 to 5 cloves and boil it and then add one teaspoon of honey and have it twice or thrice in a day.
Soak fresh dry grapes with seeds in 150 gms of water at night. In the morning, remove the seeds and chew them slowly one by one. Add a little sugar and drink it. Within a month, the lungs will be strengthened and all the poisonous waste will be thrown out from the body.
Try a half cup of milk, one teaspoon of pure honey, 1 teaspoon of olive oil and some garlic cloves. Boil it and have it every day.
Chew fennel seeds regularly to expel infected mucous from the chest.
Immediate Relief
Use of honey is considered to be very beneficial in the treatment of asthma. When a patient gets asthma attack, keep a jug full of honey under the nose of a patent and within few minutes, the patient would start breathing easily.
Mustard oil mixed with little camphor should be massaged at the back of the chest when there is asthma attack.
If you have a sudden asthma attack and have ran out of medication, have a strong cup of black coffee till you get a
doctor.
Just remeber that Asthma attacks, a common respiratory disease, are sudden recurring attacks of labored breathing, chest constriction and coughing. Characterized by gasping, wheezing, and shortness of breath and inability of speech, the cause of asthma is unknown and in many cases, it results from a combination of allergic and non allergic responses. Asthma is a chronic condition, which cannot be cured completely but can be successfully managed with medicines and home remedies and thereby minimizing the exposure that triggers the attack.

God Bless And Haven And Have A Nice Tuesday!
                                     Simone :)
That's not all. Cashews have a lower fat content than most other nuts, approximately 75% of that fat is unsaturated fatty acids, with 75% of this unsaturated fatty acid content being oleic acid, the same heart-healthy monounsaturated fat found in olive oil. Studies show that oleic acid promotes good cardiovascular health, even in individuals with diabetes. To lower your risk of cardiovascular and coronary heart disease, enjoy a handful of cashews or other nuts, or a tablespoon of nut butter, at least 4 times a week.
A quarter-cup of cashews supplies you with 38% of the daily value for copper. An essential component of many enzymes, copper plays a role in a wide range of physiological processes including iron utilization, elimination of free radicals, development of bone and connective tissue, and the production of the skin and hair pigment called melanin.
People who eat nuts on a daily basis are less likely to gain weight and have a tendency to be thinner, on average, than those who don't. It may be that eating nuts like cashews is so filling that it reduces overall calorie consumption.
God Bless And Have A Smooth Monday!
It is a nutritious food, obtained from the fleshy root stock of a tropical American plant. It is an easily digested food well fitted for infants and the convalescent.
It can replace cornstarch and white flour , an excellent thickening agent for gravies, sauces and pastries. It is used primarily for food in dietetic use, where it enjoys a reputation for smoothness and palatability.
Arrowroot was once used quite a bit in baby formulas as a superior carbohydrate, proof showed that it agreed with babies better than any other starch or sugar. Here is why. It is the only starch product with a calcium ash. The calcium chloride, in the form of calcium found in arrowroot starch, is very important for the maintenance of proper acid and alkali balances in the human body.
Its known health-building properties may be due to trace minerals from the sea, as well as from the calcium it gets from the sea water. If it is used in ice cream formulas in place of cornstarch, arrowroot has a vanilla-like flavor and smooth texture. Arrowroot is not a refined; it is simply the dried and powdered root.
I started using this a few years ago and love it! There is something very soothing when eating your turkey gravy at Thanksgiving time, knowing it is actually good for you!
God Bless And Have A Easy Sunday!
Parsely is rich in chlorophyll, this herbal food garnish kills the bacteria that cause bad odor. Simply nibble on a sprig after eating raw onions or garlic or whenever your breath smells sour.
Parsely is also rich in anti-oxidant nutrients, have volatile oils to help neutralize particular types of carcinogens (like the benzopyrenes that are part of cigarette smoke and charcoal grill smoke), rich in vitamen C and A, and folic acid, one of the most important B vitamins, great for people who have or wish to prevent the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with atherosclerosis or diabetic heart disease.
Folic acid is also a critical nutrient for proper cell division and is therefore vitally important for cancer-prevention in two areas of the body that contain rapidly dividing cells-the colon, and in women, the cervix.
Did You Know?

Did you know the ancient Greeks used to chew tarragon for toothaches? Yes, it has a great anestetic power. Roman naturalist Pliny wrote that during the Middle Ages pilgrims would place a sprig in their shoes to combat fatique on long trips. Under the Doctrine of Signatures, the medieval belief that the herb's appearance revealed it's medicinal value. It can be used as a diuretic (I use it as tea), and appetite stimulant.
Did You Know?

Did you know that grains of paradise are an alternative to black pepper on the dinner table ? It's a lot more interesting than black pepper and also known as alligator pepper. Pretty cool name if you ask me.
Grains of paradise look like black pepper, but they're dried seeds, not berries. Also, unlike black pepper, they're native to Africa, not Asia.
What Does It Taste Like? Well they are a spice worth a couple minutes' meditation. Initial smell is an intense woody, almost forest-like aroma. Bite down on one and you will have a burst of a peppery warm flavor, full but not harsh at all. Then light citrus, almost herb-like clove, cinnamon, and a hint of cardamom. At the end a pleasant, full-bodied heat that lingers for a while, It does not tingle or burn , but more like a gentle flame.
It work well with anything. You can use it just like black pepper. I usually grind it myself directly before use for full fresh flavor. Few recipes call for grains of paradise as it's still largely an unknown ingredient, but after tasting, it's easy to get a sense for how to use it. Frankly, I use it on everything, but I am also a HUGE pepper lover!
                   God Bless The Sabbath Day!
Nutrients in olives help to prevent heart disease, colon cancer. Olives may also help reduce the severity of asthma, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis, three conditions where most of the damage is caused by high levels of free radicals. The vitamin E in olives may even help to reduce the frequency and/or intensity of hot flashes in women going through menopause. Give me some olives!
Try this one:
A few good shakes of cayenne pepper in a cup of lemon water or hot tea, of course I always put a little raw honey in there too :)
I have also used tobasco sauce, white pepper, hot paprika. these spices contain capsaicin, that will not only dull pain but also have anti-viral properties. You can use this as a gargle swallowing a little each time, although, I just slowly sip the whole cup down. This is not for people who are hot spice sensitive, having some milk handy with help with burning sensation.

CAUTION: Cayenne pepper is a natural blood thinner, do not take it before surgery or dental treatment. Just mention to doctor when and how much you take.
God Bless And Have A Sunny Friday!
                    Ask Me A Question!!
Did You Know?

Did you know oatmeal bath is preferred for rashes?
Applying olive oil to the rash could help reilieve it.
Aloe Vera gel (I grew up on this one usually never fails) cod liver oil and Vitamin E oil are also an option in fighting body rash.

You could always try applying baking powder to affected area .
An oatmeal bath could help and also relieves inflammation. Just drop a cup of uncooked oatmeal into your bath and soak in the tub..

When using herbs:
Chamomile tea can be soothing, just wash it on or as I do, soak a tea bag in a little hot water, squeeze it out and apply to infected area.
A poultice made from dandelion, yellow dock root and chaparral helps alleviate skin rash.
Calcium Water preparation – Stir in a spoonful of calcium gluconate powder into a cup of water.
Hope this helps!
God Bless And Have A Marvelous Thursday!
        Ask Me A Question!

General warning when using herbal infusions
Don't use if you are not 100% sure that it really the herb in question.
If you are ill or have any health problems, consult your physician.
Don't drink the same infusion for more than 10 days, skip 5 days inbetween.
Only have one cup of herbal infusion per day, except during sicknesses like a cold or flu, Having it three times a day, but not for more than 4 days.
It supports in eliminating toxins from the system. If you dry the apple until it's brittle you can then put it in the blender and use it as a natual sweetner.
God Bless And Have A Superb Tuesday!
    Simone :)
    As Me A Question!!

Tricks for drying Apples.Dehydrator or Oven Drying
1 Pick pesticide-free, ripe, firm apples.
2 Wash, core and peel the apples.
3 Cut apples into wedges and slice into 1/4-inch-thick slices, or slice the apples into rings.
4 Dip apple slices in an ascorbic acid mixture (1/4 c. lemon juice to 1 qt. water) - to keep them from turning brown as they dry.
5 Place the slices one layer deep on kitchen trays. Do not overlap the slices.
6 Dry at 115 degrees F for 6 to 8 hours.
7 Turn the slices after 4 hours and rotate the trays if needed.
8 Test for dryness after 6 hours and then every 2 hours until no moisture remains in the center of the slices.
Automobile And A Hot Sunny Day Drying:
It seem strange but the same scorching hot car that burns your legs makes for a perfect food dryer. Spread the apple slices on shallow trays . Cover loosely with cheesecloth to keep bugs away, they may want to sneek in.Lay your trays down on the dashboard . Make sure windows are rolled up. Park in the sunniest spot you can find first thing in the morning, keep them there till the sun goes down.Make sure you bring the apples in the house overnight. I like to sprinkle the apples with some spices (typically cinnamon, nutmeg or allspice) . Don't forget to check them every now and then.

Celery (Apium Graveolens), Let's Talk About It, Did You Know?

Did you know that the celery stem, leaf and seed stimulate kidneys to clear waste products, including salts? Also, pears ripen from the inside so out don't let them become soft or you will have a mushy pear. Unlike others, they will ripen in the refridgerator. Best way to do them is group them together (they release gases that help eachother ripen) and ripen at room temperature.
Drink upon rising, mid morning and mid-afternoon. Personally I just take 1 teaspoon of the honey and a swig of the Vinegar and I'm good to go. I have been doing this for years and feel great! Remember, vinegar is a blood thinner so if you are on blood thinning medication, please check with doctor. It is compared to drinking a little wine a day, which is also a blood thinner.
