45th Qubica AMF Bowling World Cup will be held at Melaka Internetional Bowling Center (MIBC) From this 14th to 21st November. So for those who are daily bowling player and hit many strike in one game, must come to this world cup as you not seen enough yet.

”It is 22 years since the Bowling World Cup was in Malaysia,” said John Walker, Chief Executive Officer of QubicaAMF, “and it is high time that we came back to a country that holds bowling in such high esteem.”

Rainy days is suitable time to be in the museum and loitering around at authentic cafe around Melaka Town. Despite of the recent H1N1 outbreak, Malaysia tourist arrival are still encouraging! Lonely Planet recommends 10 countries for 2010

Travellers have been offered some recommendations of ten countries that are worth visiting in 2010.

As part of its new Best in Travel 2010 guide, Lonely Planet urged holidaymakers to see El Salvador, Germany, Greece, Malaysia and Morocco.

Nepal, Portugal, Suriname and the US also received the seal of approval from the publisher, along with perennial favourite New Zealand.

Commenting on the country’s inclusion in the list, Tourism New Zealand chief executive said it is an ‘astonishing result’ considering the strong competition from emerging destinations around the world.

He added: ‘New Zealand’s ability to continue to compete with hot new destinations is a testament to the country’s desire to deliver a great tourism experience, its innovation in creating new tourism products and its drive to improve its environmental performance.’

Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2010 guide also includes lists of the best places for travellers to try birdwatching, go cycling or walk their dog.

Bridges and River are historic. Rivers are god architecture and Bridges are human needs to go on with life. We need the rivers for living and also the bridge too. Rivers are prehistoric but the bridge sit as a memoir of the historic past. Along the Malacca River there are few bridge that you can see clearly when sitting on the River Cruise. Although not as old and as big as many great bridge in the world like Brooklyn Bridge New York or Ponte Fabricio in Rome, it also hold some stories along Malacca historic river bank. Although Malacca river route through the city is short, it has 6 bridge across it to make ease for the road traffic as the river cut through main development area. The bridges are:

1)Cathay Bridge
This pedestrian bridge used to be a link for passenger from old bus terminal to the other side of the river (Old Cathay).The old bus terminal stood Eye on Melaka and Pirate Park.

2)Jalan Hang Tuah Bridge
After Cathay Bridge we will meet Jalan Hang Tuah Bridge near the new develop Hotel (Old Plaza Inn). Use to links Jalan Munshi Abdullah with Jalan Hang Tuah.

3)Old Market Bridge
For pedestrian use. Links Kampung Hulu with the old Market (Now Demolished and transferred to Melaka Sentral). Can used to go to Jalan Kee Ann.

4)Ghost Bridge of Melaka
A pedestrian bridge linking Kampung Pantai with Kampung Jawa.

5)Chan Koon Cheng Bridge
A bridge that connect the Old and New section of the China Town. Traffic used and can go to Kampung Jawa or Banda Hilir. Across it from Kampung Pantai will see Discovery Cafe.

6)Tan Kim Seng Bridge
A Strategic bridge that links the two side of the Melaka River. The Old residential & commercial zone and the St. Paul Civic Zone. Can go to Jonker Street and Old OCBC Building.

Well Although the name is Taxi, it is actually not function as a normal taxi for example you want to go from Melaka River Marina to the Melaka Sentral or other places in Malaysia. The service from Melaka water taxi are from the main complex at the Estuary (Marina Complex). To go the the Marina Complex just head to the Eye on Malaysia because it is on the same road.

Wooden house are like a nostalgic Icon here, now people don’t want to build a wooden architecture anymore as their present or future house. My last experience in old traditional house is when I was small, I used to live in my granpa house. An old traditional houses are suited with Malaysia climate. When a hot sunny day, design of the house make it conformable for you as it will be cooler inside. There are house with Nipah roof. Nipah is a palm like tree that grow along the mangrove swamp. Nipah roof provide more windy climate inside and can absorbed noise from the rain better. When it’s raining, you’ll feel like an air-cond available. Furthermore, Malay traditional houses built high above the ground with the height of an adult. So wind will come from top and above.

Melaka Malay houses are among the unique type in the country. This is because it have many foreign influence like Chinese, India, and British. Melaka Malay houses have more bricks than other Malay houses in the country. The architecture of the Malay House is uniquely carved at each of the wall of the central house and the Verandah. Verandah is a Portuguese word and till now Malay still say it as Verandah. Most of complete Melaka Traditional House will have a carved tiling roof top. The method of joining the main wooden structure is still using the dovetail technique with no nail. Where cut and carving work done by utensil and not a machine. The long vertical windows design with louvers is one of the uniqueness to the Melaka House. Not to mention the tiles, the original Melaka Malay house have big staircase with tiles imported from China.

As younger generation not keen to live at their old ancestral houses, many of this house are abandon or live by old folks, last generation who wanted to live in the house. As the house main structure is made by wood, it will be easily exposed to mother nature and will collapse someday. That is why younger generation like to built new house from brick and cement. Some of the very old and authentic Melaka Malay House abandon by the owner have been taken care by Melaka State Government under Perzim (Melaka Museum Corporation).
