Your face, on a cake.

This is what Suzzanne and Nate chose for their wedding cake. If I wasn’t already in love with them, this would have pushed me over the edge.

Oh, and then what did they tell me? They wanted me to take the photo.

I nearly fainted with joy.

Yes, friends, Suzzanne and Nate are incredible. Not only did they want their faces on their wedding cake, but they got another cake with their cat’s face on it. Their photo was inspired by hers:

This is the highlight of my photography career. Truly. My photo is on a cake.

And then, it was eaten. Only Suzzanne was left.

I ordered a book with hinged pages, so there’s a gutter, meaning that each page would have less cut off on the inside. This is better to do when you don’t have panoramas spreading across two pages:

I had the privilege of hanging out with this beautiful family at Arlington Hospital last week. Here are some more of my favorites:

The weekend before we got married – each of us had longer to do lists than we had ever seen in our lives, but we were SO excited about what was happening!

What moment stands out to you most from your entire wedding day?

Right before I walked down the aisle. Both of us agree that we were so excited at that moment – we just couldn’t believe we were about to get married :-)

What advice would you give to couples currently planning their weddings?

Don’t be afraid to delegate a few things to friends or family. We found that all of the bridal party and our families were more than willing to help out with whatever they could. Also, don’t be afraid to think outside the box – everyone really enjoyed the unique touches that we had at our wedding.

What was your favorite wedding photo and why?

Easily the black and white picture of us walking down the aisle and sneaking a kiss. EASILY! We didn’t think anyone would see, and we are so glad that we have that moment captured!

What have you done with the photos since the wedding?

Ha! What haven’t we done with them? We have our beautiful album which we LOVE. We also got several pictures framed and have them displayed in our house. We also gave our family members framed photos for Christmas.

What are you looking forward to for your next year of wedded bliss?

We have fun with everything we do – even if what we are doing isn’t that much fun (ie, yardwork!). We enjoy every minute we have with each other! This year specifically we look forward to Ben’s graduation from mechanic school and our awesome trip to Germany in December!
